I mean even this year, he only won because nobody else stood out this year. If the voters have an option to give it to someone else they will. He'll be at a disavantage in a toss up race, he has to be the handsdown better candidate now.

I agree with Rob. Chris is contradicting himself right and left - Lamar won MVP because the Ravens were 13-3, but he wouldn’t win another if they went 17-0… “It’s a regular season award”, but voters take postseason success into account… Jokic didn’t win a third MVP because he didn’t have playoff success, yet Embiid is the MVP frontrunner even though he’s disappointed in the playoffs.
Chris’s voting calculus seems to allow two MVPs without postseason success, and then none thereafter, despite how well a player might play, until they win it all. This reasoning is arbitrary, it doesn’t follow the criteria for the award, and as Rob points out - it’s dumb.

@igiveyouthefacts so one game made him the MVP? Didn't the Ravens DEFENSE forces like 5 turnovers in that game? Just because the Ravens had the better record, doesn't mean that Lamar had a better season than Dak or Purdy! When will you wake up, start actually looking at the games instead of being lazy and giving the MVP to the QB on the team with the best record?

Its just that its Not likely a player will reinvent himself & nearly double his numbers to pull it off.
