How to see the difference between HDPE and LDPE, with simple test method?

I want to recycle HDPE on a small scale by mixing it with PLA and make printer filament out of it. I was concerned that some of what I collected was some other PE, but it has the number 2 in the symbol (in Europe). Also it seems to be fairly similar, so it bit of LDPE probably won't do any harm. Thanks for the info.
