I bought the shark 2 weeks ago and now it only takes me 4 minutes to get my hair dry with low heat. I also love how I plug in the shark diffuser and the dryer is automatically is programmed to set my speed and heat (you can also adjust them yourself). I absolutely love it!
Wow!!! 🤯 4 minutes! That's just amazing!
How is your Sharp afer one year? Is it still good?
@@bronek7729 The shark hair dryer is used twice a week and is still absolutely perfect.
@@cindyms.1237 thanks :D
I won't say 4 mins. I have Low porosity hair. It takes 10-15 mins. Dyson too. Shark is noisy and bulky. Dyson is heavy
I took a chance and I bought the shark a few weeks ago on Amazon and there were ZERO reviews yet. I'm so glad I did. I LOVE it. And I love the diffuser. I couldn't bring myself to pay double for the dyson. And when it comes to vacuums, I prefer shark to dyson, so that was a factor in my purchase, too. No regrets! 😄
Does your hair get sucked into the back with the shark? I have really long hair & am interested in upgrading my hairdryer because my hair constantly gets sucked into the back & have to pull my hair out. 😖
I’m think I’m partial to Shark because of the vacuum also. Lol
The guy behind Dyson’s also quite a nasty piece of work - that’s what always put me off. So glad there’s a real, better alternative!😊
I had 2 dyson’s that died right after the warranty expired. I will never buy anything dyson again. I am sold on shark
Mine died right after too
Mine died today. 2 1/2 years after purchasing. Funny, I spoke with a representative from Dyson and she told me that they are getting many of the same complaints. They will NOT get another dime from me!
@@chosen4gr8tness i took it to one of the Dyson service center. It was the motor that died and they weren’t able to fix it. They don’t have the part. Even if there was one, it used to cost $200-$300 to fix it according to the technician. They are offering 20% off on new purchase. Ridiculous.
@@Spchannel18 omg it did same thing for me, no fix due to motor issue
I kind of feel like Dyson diffuser attachment was an afterthought for them😬 Not representative of the Dyson ingenuity that they are known for.
Yes, I use the Black Orchid diffuser with my Dyson. They clearly weren't thinking of curly girls when designing their diffuser.
YES was any wavy or curly-haired person even in the room when it was made?? 😂
I just got the Shark Hyperair dryer for Christmas yesterday and have never been so excited to wash my hair. LOL I just used it for the first time. I was so impressed, I can't even tell you. I only used the brush and concentrator attachments because I've been straightening my naturally wavy/slightly curly hair for several weeks now but I'm dying to use the diffuser and the beach waves attachments. I had to move fast. I have fairly thin/fine hair but I was amazed at how fast it dried.
Fell in love with the Dyson when I used it at my sister's house but got sticker shock at the price. So I bought the Shark and it is just amazing. I have curly hair and the diffuser is so wonderful.
Thank you for this video! I knew you would have something like this. I’ve been wanting the dyson but couldn’t afford it. So when the shark came out with theirs I was very excited. But I had to wait to find out how they compared. Thank you again, very helpful!
Thanks for the review. I've been looking forward to it since I saw on your IG stories you were trying out the Shark. I love the look of the diffuser - I too have long waves - and have been considering adding this dryer to my healthy hair care tool box. Now I know what to put on my Christmas wish list. 🙂
Thank you!!! 🥰🥰
I love how you phrased this... "Healthy Care Tool Box"! 🤩🤩
It would be an AMAZING Christmas gift! 🎁🎁
I got my Shark Hyper Air about a month ago after you had mentioned it in one of your videos briefly. Was on the fence debating whether or not I wanted to spend that large of an amount on the Dyson or not. And being a pro in the industry, there’s lots of sway towards Dyson for many reasons.
I’m so happy with my decision. The diffuser alone is AMAZING! And my hair dries incredibly fast! The concentrator is phenomenal when I wanna round brush my hair, and the cool shot button is in the perfect spot to ensure I don’t burn my hair. The lowest heat setting can get pretty warm for low. But with the cool shot button, it’s nice to be able to regulate that heat where I need it. It also works wonders for setting my curls after diffusing so my wait to break the cast is much shorter.
Shark is most certainly giving Dyson a run for their money. And as they should! I’ve seen a lot of very expensive hair tools. Aside from our shears and clippers to cut hair, dryers and curling irons and such should not cost over $500. That’s just ridiculous. The Dyson can’t color my hair and style it for me like in The Jetsons. When it can, I’ll shell $500 and more for it.
If y’all got a lady out there who needs a good hair dryer, I’d definitely look into the Shark. So far, I have zero complaints. It’s a blessing, like Courtney!
How is your shark doing? I use it in the salon and loved it until a month later it started overheating after 5 minutes of use 😩. So bummed now😓
@@ri411na oh no! I haven’t had that issue, I’m sorry. Have you reached out to where you bought it, or through the manufacturers?
@@notahamsterr I returned it. I got it from bed bath and beyond. I ended up ordering another from Amazon instead this time! Hoping for the best!
@@ri411na How is the one from Amazon??? Are you still finding that it overheats???
Also, do you find the lowest heat setting to still be very hot when using??
I'm looking to buy the Shark but was curious on the above questions before splurging lol 🤔 😅
@@KpopInYourArea95 it's going really well! No issues so far! On the lowest heat setting it's not really that hot without a concentrator on. With the precision nozzle it's warmer. I use the medium heat option for blowouts with highest airflow and the lowest heat for diffusing with medium airflow...if that helps ☺️. When I was in between dryers, I went back to my old ghd air and even my elchim....it was NOT the same and I missed using the shark SOOOO BAD!!! I definitely saw a difference not having it.
Ahhhhh!! I am so pleased to hear this review! Thank you.
the diffuser for the shark looks so much more better than the one on the dyson!
I've owned my shark hyper air for two weeks and absolutely love it for diffusing, the bowl is amazing ❤️❤️!!
Where did you find it? It’s sold out everywhere. I didn’t know about the release until now. Now I need it lol 😂
Whoa! Shark is killing it! With Dyson, if you want fancy curling or brush attachments you have to buy the Airwrap for $550!!! Shark made them all fit their awesome dryer! I don't have either but I'm curious if Shark builds a reputation for the longevity of their dryers. Many reviews say people complain of their Dysons dying after a year 😬.
Crazy! Can't imagine spending the $ on Dyson for it not last at least 5 years. 😳
I’ve been using my Dyson dryer almost on a daily basis since 2017, and it’s the longest lasted dryer I’ve ever had, even though I’ve dropped it on its head from 3 to 4 ft numerous times (yes I’m very clumsy). It’s the only one that can dry my hair in 30 mins or less, even with low heat. If it ever breaks, I don’t know if I’ll pay that price again though. Im trying to find a good alternative. So far, all the Chi dryers, Bio ionic, conair, rusk, Babyliss Pro, GHD, and T3 have let me down (I love T3 single pass hair straighteners though). Im fearful to pay for Shark because I’ve always had the highest end & newest Shark vacuums, and they ALWAYS give me issues within the 1st year. I just spent $399 on a shark vacuum around this recent Mother’s Day, and it’s already giving me constant issues just a few months in. 😔 They have useful and innovative ideas, but don’t execute them as greatly as dyson does. I wish my hair wasn’t so thick so I could just settle for any hair dryer.
@@johnslife4993 shark vacuums are disposable, that’s why parts aren’t available and filters are hidden
@@Kubulek17 Shark vacuum filters aren't hidden. We change ours on a regular basis.
@@Kubulek17 Shark has replaced components on my vacuum several times even if I bought it years before. No questions asked. The customer service is unmatched.
Thank you! Perfect timing. I am asking for the shark for Christmas. Only because it is cheaper, but now I know I will be getting a great dryer! Thank you, thank you, thank you 😊
Thanks for this comparison review. You're the only one that has done this! Great help!
So interesting! I’ve been seeing ads for the shark and was not going to even think of purchasing without a review. I just can’t justify the cost of the dyson. I’m going to think about the shark!
Just ordered the Shark hair dryer, but the diffuser is sold out everywhere! But I am glad I saw this video to see you talk about the snozzlepro so I ordered that through your amazon and the black orchid diffuser. Here's to some fab looking curls in my future.
So timely! I wanted to get a shorter dryer because mine is soooo long once you attach the diffuser and it hurts the arm. I was looking at options but didn't like reviews that didn't include using the diffuser.
I’m wondering whether the difference in drying time could be because the defuser head on the shark is bigger and therefore there is more airflow when you diffuse. The diffuser head on the Dyson is smaller so the hair is going to be tighter in there and therefore not getting as much airflow. It would be fun to see if there is a difference in dry time if you hover diffuse like Manes by Mell likes to do. But either way, great review as always ❤️
Agreed. I wonder if she used her Black Orchid with the Dyson and compared it with the Shark and it's stock diffuser if it would be closer drying times.
I am guessing that you use the Shark, but I can't wait to hear the answer. I am so glad you did a comparison of these two dryers.
The bigger, deeper diffuser may work better for longer/thicker hair on the Shark. I have SUPER fine hair. One thing I love about the Dyson is that it has the… diffusiest? …. diffusers. Other diffusers I’ve tried blow my hair around and can make my hard crunchy cast curls blow out from my head quite a bit. Is the airflow stronger in the shark with the diffuser? Of course I paid full price on the Dyson, but now I kinda want a shark lol
I just received a Shark hair dryer and used it first time. It sets automatically temperature and air speed when diffuser is placed on the dryer. BUT I think the heat setting is HOT! Too hot!! Courtney, do you agree?
Brilliant comparison!!! I really do hope they bring it to the U.K.! Would love to try. I’m a dyson lover, have had mine for over 3 years and wouldn’t be without it. But would be amazing to have a similar dryer for less money to recommend
It’s in the uk already?
@@leighg7656 really?? I did not know that!
@@MarisasCurls Hi! I live in the US, and I read the new Shark hair dryer is in both the US and UK...but are under different names. (Why, I don't know!) Here in the US, the hair dryer is called Shark HyperAir. In the UK, it goes by Shark IQ. So, maybe that's why you didn't know it was already in the UK...or maybe not! LOL! Anyway, Happy Holidays!
Your video is super thorough! My hair dries pretty fast already but the colder days makes me want a nice quick dryer.
I have been wanting the dyson for so long, but I’ve had super bad experiences with their vacuums and I bought a shark vacuum that I LOVE! I am so excited you like their blow dryer, going to order one!
Yay! Let me know how you like it!
BOOM! Now I’m glad I didn’t get a Dyson, for hundreds of dollars more! The Shark goes on my Christmas list! Thank you so much for this head-to-head 🤪 review, Courtney!
You won't regret it. I got it for Christmas yesterday. It was a complete surprise as I knew my husband had gotten me a Chi flat iron and wasn't expecting two high dollar grooming gifts. His mom got me the dryer and I just used it. I was in shock at how well it worked. Hope you got it for Christmas too!
@@jewels3596 I did!
Hi Courtney! One question, do you find your hair ever getting caught in the filter with the Shark? One of the things I like about the Dyson is the filter being on the handle, because my long hair tends to get caught in filters that are on the back of the dryer. Also, do you like the Shark diffuser as much as the Black Orchid? I definitely do not love the Dyson diffuser with long hair.
I hope she will answer this question because I’m in the same boat. Long hair constantly gets caught up in the filter.
I’m just starting my wavy journey (though I hadn’t used sulfates in about three years anyway), and I’d been saving Ulta points for the Dyson. Looks like I need to reconsider that.
I was doing the same thing. I have almost 175 saved on ulta but just broke down last week on prime day and bought the shark. I LOVE IT!!!!
Dyson's diffuser looks really cheap. The length of the teeth on the diffuser are very short. Weird that they didn't put more effort into it.
Could the dry time be longer on the Dyson because of the diffuser head you used? The Diffuser head on the Dyson is so small so the hair is so compacted and not much airflow. Would love to see a side by side with the Xtava on both dryers!
Second that!
That is really possible! I like this experiment idea!
@@curlycurlbirdygirl - I'll throw in a third vote for that experiment!
was thinking the same thing!!
I also wondered if the diffuser difference had a noticeable impact on dry time.
Those dry times are amazing! How long did it used to take to dry your hair with a "regular" dryer?
Sometimes 30 to 45 minutes.
Thank you, Courtney! I was hoping you would do a comparison video.
Absolutely! Thank you!
As a professional hairdresser in love with my professional Dyson hair dryer, I almost never use the low heat setting for diffusing. I use medium to high heat with low, medium or high wind depending on the hair type. The benefit of the Dyson is it’s targeted heat control. I wonder if the Shark is already too hot if you can dry your hair faster on the lowest setting? If you were in my chair, I’d probably use high heat and medium wind to dry you hair in less than 15 minutes
One of the things I notice in reviews of these appliances is that the Dyson makes curls looks nicer than the Shark. Do you find that to be true?
@@anastasiabeaverhaus9 that seems a bit of a stretch tbh
Really? I found the diffuser on the Dyson made my hair a lot more frizzy than the Shark did.
Finally! I have been waiting for a comparison review!!! Thanks!
Yay! I had been waiting for this one because I need a new blow dryer👏
Thank you Courtney for doing this!
Awe perfect timing, thank you!
I'm impulsive. Buy now, pay later. Soon as I saw Hi Felicia's demo, ordered Mr Shark. Pretty good. Like the diffuser attachment and find the dryer really nice attractive color compared to the usual black. Does dry faster than my old $40 dryer with the black orchid attachment. Hoped it would eliminate frizz but since I have wiry gray hair, it's going to take a lot more than this dryer to eliminate the dust bunny look. Compared to the Dyson, it's a real bargain and who knows, with supply issues it may not be available by Christmas. Glad I bought it when I did.
How does the shark diffuser compare to the black orchid? Do you think your results are as good with the shark one?
I like that the diffuser is larger and that is is almost half the price.
Shark? Thank you so much for this review! I had mentioned to my daughter that I am putting the dyson on my “wish’ list and she told me about this video, but she had not watched it. Now I can tell her which one is the winner. 🏆
Easy to watch and thorough comparison of the two!!
You mentioned features Others didn’t show.
I want the shark and now!!
But Bed Bath and beyond won’t even let me pay for the back order.
I’ve been out the curly girl social media loop for a year now. come back on for a day, and I’m now I’m determined to buy something new lol 😂
Thanks for the awesome review Courtney.
I haven't had much luck with the Shark Dryer. I was intrigued to try it having saw a lot of hype for it. Purchased my 1st dryer 2 weeks ago... found it very hot even on lowest setting (common trend in reviews). It was much hotter than my GHD Helios and my former Dyson Supersonic (it did pack in after only less than 18 months of just once weekly use). I returned the dryer and got a replacement. Ironically, with the 2nd during its first ever use, no heat would come out at all. The heat and fan setting wouldn't even light up and didn't work. So I had to stand with soaking wet curls going through a technical video check with Shark. Sadly I returned the faulty dryer and purchased another Dyson! For £230-250 in the UK, the Shark is too pricey for the trouble I've had. Yes the diffuser is bigger than the Dyson which is a plus but the Shark is too hot on its lowest setting, heavier and noiser than the Dyson, has a very short lead and just wasn't up to par with other dryers!
Yes I've been waiting for this review, i know what to ask my husband for this Christmas!!
Did something happen to the audio during the part where you're talking about the dryer adjusting the temperature and speed when you attach the different heads? I don't hear the dryer, and I don't see any indication that what you're saying is actually happening.
I'm interested in the drying times if you were to use the Black Orchid diffuser for both dryers.
I just ordered my Dyson for my husband to give to me for Christmas, the blue and copper colour for me is just perfect. I have fine, low to medium density mid length hair so a smaller diffuser bowl gets more shrinkage for my wavy hair.
I suspect you like the Shark because of the diffuser bowl, it doesn't look nearly as bulky as when you use the snozzle pro on the Dyson
Same here! I know Dyson didn’t think about the curlies when they designed the diffuser but I believe this attachments perfect for low density and short manes (I’m a wavy as well). Also the new attachments are amazing. I got the blue one and it’s stunning! 😍
It would be nice if Dyson re-design the diffuser for other hair densities and lengths.
I won't get to see mine until Christmas but I think it is stunning 😉. Manes by Mell and her sister Amanda love that diffuser so I am hopeful.
I ordered this, after seeing a short ad before a video. I was so excited to get it, but ended up sending it back. 😟 I have some curl left from my hair growing back after chemo last year. For me, my hair is too fine, and I'm not able to use any products in my hair, due allergies...which totally sucks. I found that the Shark dried my hair too much before I was able to style it. It took too much moisturizer out of, causing it to become fly away. I think this would be awesome if you have super curly and/or thick hair, as it will make your hair extremely soft and shiny. Especially, if you're looking to straighten it, but still have some body. All the attachments will work wonders on the the thicker hair too. It's a great design, but not for someone with fine, virgin (no dyes, bleaching) hair. I wish everyone good hair days! ☺️
Have you tried homemade flaxseed gel? Just water and flaxseeds. It takes a lot but it will give a cast and then hair doesn’t feel like product once you SOTC.
How interesting!
But yay for being done with chemo!!! 🥰🥰💃💃
Yay! I've been so excited for this video!
Your hair looks great !!
This excites me! I ordered before I seen this review, now I’m excited to get my new hair dryer! What products do you use for your curly hair? The struggle to tame these curls is real! Lol
For those who wants to buy today, I know bed bath and beyond have it in $179 I bought it from them, 2 days later I was drying my hair with it! But I think you should say the attachment for diffusing is heavy! And makes the holding a little bit uncomfortable, but I need to say for a good dryer is a fantastic price!!!
I did have a link to Bed Bath and Beyond in the description of the video too if that is helpful!
It is out of stock at Bed Bath & Beyond! But I just now got it for $179 directly from Shark 👍🏼

Thank you for this video!!
My hair stylist has the Dyson, and she recommended I try the shark. After watching this I am definitely ordering the shark! Thank you for making this!!
I have never spent more then 15 mins drying my hair with the dyson. Regardless I think it’s due to the size of the diffuser.
I agree, I never take more than 15 minutes with my Dyson either - use Xtavia Black Orchid diffuser with it.
I have the big black diffuser and love it but I think the shark diffuser circulates air better. I am happy with my purchase
My hubby and I have five daughters. They are biracial and have LOTS of curly hair. My fourth has curls like yours so I'm a new subscriber. ❤🤗 I'm going to get this Shark. Thanks for the review.
2 questions from a fellow scientist: is the Dyson time more comparable with the Orchid diffuser? Also, how easy is the filter to clean on the Dyson vs the Shark? I always find my filters need cleaning if my dryer takes longer.
That is a great question! This needs to be the next experiment! 🙌🏻 I found that cleaning the filter is super easy on the Shark. They even give you a little brush with it.
How long does the shark last? 2 years?
FWIW I bought the deluxe set with the wave attachment and am returning it. The lowest heat setting is too hot for my taste and there is no option to set it on no heat except to use the Cool Shot button, so I have to pulse the cool shot on and off to keep it at what I consider warm. Probably because I didn’t let it get hotter I found my dry time wasn’t any shorter than with my $30 Xtava dryer. I like the diffuser on the Shark, but it’s not any better than the Black Orchid IMO, and the concentrator nozzle isn’t anything special. The wave attachment isn’t big enough for my long hair and whips the hair around in a spiral to dry it, which did give me nice ringlets but subjected my ends to more trauma than I’m comfortable with. Bottom line for more than $200 I should love it and I don’t. I bought directly from Shark and they do have a money back guarantee and are paying for the return shipping, which I appreciate.
Really disappointed lately in hearing people's experiences with refurbished Dyson dryers. They're still $329 which is insane to pay for a dryer. And they're non-refundable and non-refundable. Many have gotten refurbished dryers that quit working and Dyson's customer service doesn't do anything. I'll definitely be looking into the Shark dryer!
It sounds like they're pushing customers into buying new dryers.
Thank you for comparing the noise!! Literally the information I needed but so hard to find
Glad it was helpful!
I am guessing that you use the Shark more often. It looks like the better dryer to me!
That shark diffuser is as big as a colander! Great review!
Thanks Courtney! What do I do while diffusing? Watch hair videos of course! It’s my uninterrupted RUclips time after my showers while getting ready 😁 If someone sent it to me sure-I think I would love it if it was free. I just can’t get behind a $200 hair dryer. I would rather use that money for something else.
Purchasing the shark in Australia will be the difficult part. I would love one. My hair dryer is slowing dying and takes me forever to dry my hair.
Awe I hope you find it!!
I hope Shark comes out with something that will compete with the AirWrap. I would like the AirWrap, but the cost is just too much.
It doesn’t have an attachment that makes waves. I haven’t tried that yet, but I hear good things!
Have you compared the other attachments to the Dyson yet? Like the concentrator for a blowout type look? I’m curious how it compares to the dyson without the diffuser
I FINALLY got a Dyson a few months ago (I've been using your hack for the segbeauty diffuser to attach it, which was INSANELY hard to do BTW!! I had to work at it off and on for DAYS, and was about to give up & then I finally jammed it in by placing the diffuser against the edge of the bathroom counter and put the nozzle on my hip and literally hip slammed it in there 🤭🤭😂) I'm lucky to have purchased it for only $200 from a friend who mentioned they were going to sell theirs since they never blowdry their hair anymore. It had only been used a couple of times. I'm sure I'll give into temptation & get this one at some point lol
Pity you didn't know about the Snozzle Pro adapter before you went to all that trouble - enables you to attach nearly any diffuser to any hairdryer.
I own the Conair hair dryer with diffuser and nozzle attachments. I love my conair hair dryer.... While I dry my hair I pray.... Your hair looks awesome... I have extremely thick naturally curly hair and I would prefer to use the shark hair dryer
Yay, someone like me! I pray my Rosary every time I diffuse.
Ugh currently have the dyson and thought I was the crazy one for hating how hot the heat was and for getting only frizz and no clumps with their small af diffuser. I wish I saw this video before I purchased 😭
Yes!!! Thank you! First review I've seen♥️ BTW, your hair cut looks great!

Thank you for this video I have had my eye on this and could not find any videos/reviews. SO thank you

This was a great video! How do you get the snozzle pro to stay on the black orchid diffuser so well? Mine comes apart EVERY time I use it.
Also can you do a comparison on the shark diffuser vs black orchid? I wish the dyson would come out with a better diffuser
Yay! I'm so excited for this video! I've been on the fence about buying the Shark or asking for the Dyson for Christmas 😅. Now I'm only on the fence on whether to go buy the Shark now or wait til Black Friday!
Ahh yes!! Some stores are releasing their sales early!
I was really excited because I got this for Christmas and I of course immediately washed my hair. I tend to hover and then pixie diffuse on pretty wet hair on low heat but this burned my scalp on the lowest setting. I found myself holding down the cool shot button for a majority of the time even on low heat. I’m a little worried about the heat and frying my hair..I’m wondering if I got a lemon because no one seems to be talking about the heat. I don’t want to fry my hair, is there a different way I should be diffusing? Any tips or thoughts before I try it again?
Thank you!
Dyson or shark? On the Dyson you can just turn the heat off and dry without it.
@@kristinmoore4624 the shark!
Currently waiting for my 8 year old hair dryer to kick the bucket so I can buy the shark 😆
I am thinking the same thing.
Aside from the dryers, is there a special reason why you pixie diffuse first and then hover diffuse last to dry roots? I was under the impression is was important to first hover diffuse your roots and then pixie diffuse last because you will end up over drying/damage your ends if you start out drying the ends of your hair fist by pixie diffusing right off the bat... Is there a benefit or trick to drying your roots last? Or is it not damaging in your opinion from trial and error and experimentation with starting put pixie diffusing the ends first? Just wanted to ask because I have seen people say not to dry ends but roots first and you don't and seem very knowledgeable about this stuff, so is there a right or wrong way with that in your opinion?
do you prefer the shark diffuser to the orchid?
confused how is the shark for straitening the hair ? does it prevent the hair from the extreme draying damage ?
Hi Courtney! I’ve been trying to decide between the two. My hair is shoulder length, if that makes a difference. The one review I read said the shark diffuser was difficult to get on and they had to hold onto it while diffusing so it wouldn’t fall off. I’m wondering if you had any difficulty, although it looks like it was easy for you.
I think that may have been a manufacturing defect because I have the shark as well and have never had an issue with it staying on
@@pinkordie85 Thanks, because I love that the prongs of the Shark diffuser are adjustable.
I have really had a problem getting the Shark diffuser to attach. 🤷🏼♀️
Do you mean you “haven’t” had a problem?😊
Thanks for this great video (as always)! I am no confirming my decision to buy myself the shark for the holidays
Awe, thank you! Treat yourself!
Your enthusiasm for hair n products are shared by me! We are quite different but share lovely similarities that make me very happy to see since i just think you are a superwoman!
Wow! I’m impressed! I mostly air dry so I couldn’t justify the cost of the Dyson. But I could the Shark. Thanks for the comparison, Courtney. I think I might just treat myself to a Shark!
Absolutely! Thank you!
LadyKC67 I just wanted to say I’m jealous that you can air dry your hair and leave the house. Being able to do that must leave you with lovely healthy hair! I’m in a vicious circle where my hair looks insane if I air dry, I HAVE to blow dry…..which is damaging to my hair even with heat protection, the more damage…..the more I can NOT skip blow drying 😢
So, like I said I’m jealous and happy for you, you lucky lady:)
@@MissMarie1377 well, thank you. It does take awhile but I have less frizz when I do it. I’ve actually taken to using magnetic rollers in my hair, and I adore the results. And my curly hair supports the curl for nearly a week with proper care. My hair is super curly and even with proper treatment (and getting past the 2 year mark) I still feel like I have an 80s perm look. The wind blows and my hair is a mess. And I miss brushing it.
So I compromised and I’ve fallen in love with my hair. I get a lot of compliments with the style. Just another way to style our curly hair in a way that we can love it. 😊
I thought for sure there would be some great Cyber Monday sale going on for the Shark. It's either out of stock or $250.
Girl I just saw this on IG and came to YT for videos and BAM here you are 🤩
Shocked maybe Dyson isn't as good in hair as they are in vacuuming. Really makes me think twice about the hair dryers.
I just sold my dyson on marketplace. I have long curly hair I hated the dyson diffuser. Can't wait to get the Shark
Omg I would love it if you reviewed the flex style
My Shark was delivered today. Love it!💕
Great comparison
I am glad it helped!
Shark - Sold, thank you for the pro tip. that'll make a good xmas day gift!
Yes! Great Christmas gift!
I excitedly bought the Shark dryer but then was majorly disappointed to find that even the low heat setting felt waaaaay toooo hot! I pulled out a thermometer and tested the temps on all heat settings on the Shark and my old Conair hair dryer and sure enough even the “low” setting on the Shark was very close to the high setting on my old Conair ionic hair dryer (152F vs 156F)! That’s really hot! I don’t think anyone would recommend diffusing curly hair at the highest heat setting on a regular dryer, but that seems to be what one is essentially doing on low with the Shark? I’m not sure what I’m gaining with the using the Shark on low vs using the Conair on high (which I’d never actually do!). Do you have a non-Dyson hair dryer that you can compare the temp to? I know you like data! ;) I’m wondering if anyone else’s Shark temp runs that high on the lowest heat setting or if I have a defective one!? I don’t want to use such high heat and damage my hair!
I was wondering about this too! I’ve only used mine once but my lowest heat setting was really hot and I don’t want to fry my hair. What did you end up doing?!
I actually contacted the company and the customer service rep acted like it shouldn’t be that hot. They sent me two more and they both were equally as hot so that really just is how they are. I’m making a RUclips video eventually to show people the temps on these things. It’s no wonder it dries hair so fast because you are basically drying your hair on high heat on the lowest temp setting.
@@surrendertoflow78 low heat but what air speed setting? High air speed low heat means lower temp overall
Amazon had the hair dryer for $199 but without the diffuser. They were sold out of the set with the diffuser. So I went to the shark site and even with their BF discount, the one with the diffuser was $250. Ugh. I went ahead and ordered it because I’ve been using an old Conair for the last 5 years, plus it’s not $550 like Dyson.
Thank you for posting this helpful video.
Thanks! Glad it helped!
Finally got a dyson and I love it, thanks for the review!
Awesome! Thank you!
Dumb question but just curious. Did you pause the timer when you showed where the cool shot button was on both? I noticed you showed after you started the timer with the dyson and started diffusing.
I ordered the shark flexstyle air styling and drying system and it came in the mail today! Holy sh** this thing is no joke and for the price it’s an amazing investment considering it does the same and more than the dyson
That's awesome!
Thx Courtney for the review. I had no idea that Shark came out with a hair dryer. I'm seriously thinking of getting myself one for Christmas. Oh, btw, you got your hair cut! Looks great! I pray our Lord & Savior will continue to bless you and your family this Thanksgiving.
Oh, I just checked both sites, & they are out of them! Bummer!
always trusting your content
Thank you so much!😃😃
