Bless, Caballe at 51 singing Il Trovatore. Years ago in London interview, she commented that it was one of her favorites as the music is beautiful...when in her 30s and 40s, she sure knocked her performances out of the park! The greatest of 20th sopranos. Milnes was a stage presence and a great 20th C. in many opera houses. What a time in the opera!
Caballé was the best Leonora early in the 60&70's ! Here she is laughing and is a good teamplayer among Milnes and Todisco ! Everybody looks relax and happy ! Opera in the park with young and distress audience , great initiative !Thanks for sharing !
I liked this very much. The sound wasn't as good as it could have been, but the singing from all three is great, I was especially impressed with Todisco and his powerful, rich tone. And I love Milnes' acting too, even in concert he always brought character visually and audibly into what he sang, which is one of the main reasons why the criticisms against him piss me off. Caballe sings beautifully(if a tad flat in spots) and communicates well.
Thank you for uploading but could you please correct the sound level - very difficult to hear so I don't know how Beth29252 could hear Montserrat is singing flat ?!!

Not hardly. That was Leontyne Price.
@@liedersanger1 , yes you’re right, Price was an outstanding Verdi’s heroine: Aida, Leonora and others!
Un Manrico stupefacente,più scuro potente e incisivo del Conte , magnifico!
Bravissimi!
