- Montserrat Caballé, the famous Spanish soprano, is interviewed by Bernard Levin and sings some of the operatic roles with which she is particularly associated. She is accompanied by tenor Keith Erwen and the New Philharmonia Chorus and Orchestra, conducted by Reynald Giovaninetti.
there are many wonderful sopranos, but there is only ONE Caballe'. she sang it all, effortlessly, with grace and power. I miss her.

Caballe at the zenith of her powers here. So much exemplary singing. I was pleasantly surprised by the "Dich Teure Halle."
I was blessed to see her perform at Carnegie Hall and the Met in Adriana Lecouvere. The greatest voice ever
Really, the greatest voice EVER? Have you HEARD every voice? Have you heard Giuditta Pasta and Giulia Grisi, to name but a few? Don't get me wrong, I adore Caballé (in her good years at least), but why claim she was better than anybody else? There is room for everyone.

In ihrem was Cabelle tat war sie einzigartig. Sutterland , Horn, waren auch sehr gut. Es gibt auch andere gute Sängerinnen. Trotz allem war Cabelle einzigartig und bleibt es in jeglicher Hinsicht was auch Ihr Auftreten betrifft, in ihrer Erscheinung. Sein Bruder sagte in der Dokumentation von Norma; Ihre Stimme ist nicht von hier. In manch Ihrer Gesänge war es spürbar.❤
Ich durfte Cabelke nie live erleben und kam erst in 90er zu Ihr. Sie beeindruckte und sie war es Frauenstimmen anders wahr zu nehmen und wie schön dieser Ausflug in die Oper sein kann. Ob mal ein Ton gerade passte, ist so unwesentlich. Vielmehr wichtig, ihre Freude an dem was sie tat. Das mit einer bezaubernden Hingabe. Selbst als Sie älter war und nicht mehr gut zu Fuß war, war es Ihre Präsenz und wo sie nur gesprochen hat, wohnte schon ein Zauber inne. Das,Cbelke nie die Bodenhaftung verlor, seis zu ihren Fans und ihrem Publikum. ❤
Ich habe Cabelle auch weiterhin verehrt alsm sie im Rollstuhl saß. Das Singen aus Freude rüber kam und wußte selbst das Sie nicht mehr die Beste im stimmlichen war und doch manchmal konnte sie das Publikum überraschen. In Frankreich auf der Bühne beantwortete Cabelle nur Fragen und das Publikum war trotzdem begeistert von Ihr.
Die Bühne war ihr Leben und ein Sitzen und warten auf den Tod, nicht das Ihre.

This is really great. Finally they posted this movie in perfect quality.These are the platinum years of Caballe. Her sweet demeanor in interviews can't hide her absolute greatness. The double phrase in one breath in The Marriage of Figaro and Il Trovatore is especially stunning.
She looked beautiful in the clip from Lucretia Borzia and sounded exquisite!!!

Bellini: Callas and Sutherland (Sills innI puritani)
Donizetti: Gencer,Callas, Sills and Caballé..here ...yes.
Wenn schon Callas sagt sie ist meiner mehr alswürdig.
