I know I was a vocalist, and while contemporary music is easier, I knew the lyrics and all of the verses of close to a thousand songs. It's easier to just memorize them than sightread lyrics, and of course you can't perform with sheet music at all as a vocalist.

@@IorekBear92 Well, I'm not going to argue with you about it. I'm sure different singing venues have different criteria, and sometimes the audience doesn't see you, or if you are singing while playing piano it would be easy. I could have used sheet music when recording in the studio, but I sang in choir, as a lead in theater, and with a microphone in front of a band, and in all of those places you really couldn't have a music stand or sheet music.

@A.H Well I obviously know that they *are* professionals. I don't literally forget it and become surprised whenever they mention it. It's just that they don't show it off all the time. It's fun and casual and they don't constantly try to show off their skill just for the sake of showing off. This is one of their videos that show the more technical side of playing the violin and I just wanted to show my appreciation for their craft. As someone who doesn't play the violin or any other instrument, it's cool to see all that goes into playing the violin on a professional level and what that exactly means.

My only level of music is fifth grade clarinet. I watch to learn about music and because their raw charisma is utterly charming. Since they’re so casual, I also forget that they’ve played at the White House and massive orchestras.
Basically, for me, they are so amazing that I forget what it means to be a professional musician.

Just a note from one of your fellow Ling Ling wannabes. Let me throw things into perspective: I’m an introvert, I’ve got stress problems, and I’m always under pressure to be the next Ling Ling. I’m one of the newer fans; I only found you guys this year. But from the moment I started watching your videos, you guys have inspired me in ways that are more than just practice. You’ve taught me about commitment, and with the TwoSet fandom, I’ve found so many relatable things that I feel at home. 😊 Brett and Eddy, in my mind, you’ve gone from just two random peeps I watch to being my favorite senpais. You guys seriously are the best. Watching your videos makes me laugh like crazy, and in a way, it makes my anxiety issues melt away. I’ve actually got some motivation to stop pretending to practice social distancing with my piano now too. You probably won’t see this, but thanks so much for all you do for your fans. And I’d like to thank the rest of the TwoSet community too, for making the best comments and the most hilarious memes. Love you! 😁

Guys, I am so happy to find you! I have had 8 years of violin in Ukraine in 80-s. Obviously, we had no idea who was Ling Ling that times as well as we had little access to knowledge and good live examples. Anyway, after 30 years you inspired me to take my violin out (surprisingly it still sounds) and to start practicing every day (with little progress already). Never in my lifeI could I expect that hard practicing can be such fun))). I also follow Eddy's recommendations on his channel. Thank you guys.
