Art Talk: Detroit Portraits

Dawoud Bey is an American photographer and educator, known for his large-scale art photography and portraits. In this video, Nancy Barr - our Curator of Photography - discusses portraits Bey captured as an artist-in-residency at the Detroit Institute of Arts in 2003; some of these portraits were also later included in "Dawoud Bey: Detroit Portraits" - an exhibition shown at the DIA in 2004.
