Really great video well explained without any padding. Maybe to prevent the sill void filling up again would it be a good idea to fill the void with expanding polyurethane foam and maybe run a bead of sealant down the seam where the wheel arch cover meets the body. The dirt would have no point of ingress and would run down onto the road surface. (Now that is proper OCD). Nice wheels and tyres.
Hi - see my previous post. Some of the muck comes from the windowscreen area including leaves (walnut catkins in my case) . There is a little drain built into the plastic arch liner (square thing at the bottom). My take is that under normal circumstances this is enough to carry roadspray but when you get a few leaves in there it stops the muck draining. I would suggest sealing it up in any way would be a bad idea. In my opinion waxoil and regular flush with fresh water would be the best. As I've said before - it's not bad design, it's built in obsolesence VW/Merc want it to rot so you buy another van.
Just watched this after viewing your side trim vid. Just imagine that gunge soaked in salty spray after bad weather. No wonder they bubble in that area. Thanks for the heads up, my Crafter will outlast me after doing these fixes.👍 Update - I park close to a walnut tree that sheds these incredible catkins at the end of April. They get everywhere - including the windowscreen valley below the bonnet. I'd cleaned the area behind the wheel arch but guess where the catkins ended up when I washed the van! Witness my slow evolution into someone who starts to understand summat🤣
Only just found your channel, and want to thank you for your tips on the areas that can rust. Will spend tonight watching your other videos.
Great to see you back. Could you do a separate video on the KO2 rubbing, to see exactly what your are snip snipping ✂️?
for bonus points, a spray of waxoil into the cavity will help prevent future issues. very usefull video tho, cheers
Just done passenger side today, had a bucket full of mud and aload of rust to fix. Thanks Adam would never have done it without seeing your video 👏👏👏👏

Another great video, thanks so much 👍
Another great presentation, thanks for your efforts, going to do mine now.
Get some Waxoyl in there once cleaned out.
And any way to block the ingress?
1st :) And something to watch as I drink my hot chocolate before bed. Good times!
I done the trim clip sealing unfortunately rust had already set in. keeping on top of rust on a sprinter is a job in itself
Love these videos great to see you back 👍
Cheers Adam, gonna sort this mother out this weekend. I'll also spray wax oil in there also....thank you....Andy, Shropshire.
Bostin tip our kid, stay safe brother 🙏
Thanks for your videos, legend
Hi about your flares can you please tell me why are they not made from a pressed sheet of steel and then welded to the van
love u work but did u van come out with mud flaps? u removed to fit bigger tires ?
Is this the same front and rear
12:26 is that a FROG in there?
9:47 i think the barcode is from the bottom of your dust pan (and brush)
Is it the barcode off the genuine VW/Merc mud?
why wouldn't you open it up and put spray foam in it to seal it up and prevent future mud to get in it? Any downsides to this?
He you sure those leaves and come down from an air vent up up above?
A pressure washer would have cleaned that area better ....
