Hello to everyone! I have been following Mark and Ying for a long time and would love to help. Mark and Ying do not eat like this everyday, and they walk.....Sometimes Ying eats before Mark starts the blog. She is shy and does not want to have people watch her eat. Enjoy the time she is on the blog, because she would rather film than be seen. He always makes sure she gets what she wants to eat. They are a good husband and wife and share everything. I hope this answers some of your questions.
Plus, in addition to that, most Asian women I know do not like to be filmed while eating. Some of my Asian female friends are really careful with the choice of food while they are eating in public. They prefer to look feminine even when they are eating.
@@patkaczmarek7362 of course! Grew up in jersey. The armpit has the best. Chicago has that slammin Italian beef sammich and Chicago dogs we love ever so much
"All the days of the afflicted are bad; but he that is of a cheerful heart has a continual feast." Proverbs 15:15 - that's you Mark! Thanks for your blogs
He just love foods, don't be discouraged. I'm always looking forward to his next episode. Kudos Mark!!! Please show more of you and Ying on tours together. She's adorable, I'm pretty sure many agree. 😊
Superb Marc, looked delicious. one day at work this week I didn't have time to go out for lunch and look to see why I had in the fridge I had bread cream cheese and beetroot. and that's what I made a sandwich with bread cream cheese and beetroot. Never had it before but I may have it again. I've just been to my local supermarket and bought some Scottish smoked salmon to replicate the bagele you just ate. Thank you .
Mark, I have been watching your videos since the Sri Lanka eating with your hands video (5 years ago). Thank you very much for making these lovely videos and thank you for your passion. Keep up the great work :)
There used to be a great bagel bakery in Penn Station in the '70s and '80s. You could watch the bagels being prepared. They only sold bagels and bialies, plus lox and cream cheese. Most mornings I would buy my onion or blueberry bagel or bialy there with cream cheese. Occasionally, I would get lox, but most of the time it was just cream cheese. Of course, it was nowhere near $14, just $2+ for the bagel and a schmear of cream cheese. Somedays I would buy a blueberry muffin instead from this chain bakery whose name I can't recall. Food seemed expensive then, but it's really expensive now.
The reason the NYC things are so expensive, besides the fact that NYC is just a very expensive place, is because he is choosing the very best version of those things. He went to the highest rated pizzeria in the country (probably), the highest rated Jewish deli, got the highest rated smoked salmon (although Russ's bagels aren't rated very high)... He is having the Ferrari of foods. NYC has tons and tons of cheap and delicious food but he is aiming for the most famous highest rated stuff.
Yeah, but I can get some of the "very best" bread or pastry in Paris for what is still a reasonable price. Honestly, and NYC people constantly make lame excuses for overpriced stuff in their city, a lot of things in NYC are just way overpriced and, quite often too, lacking in quality. Outrageously greedy brokers and landlords don't help the situation, driving up prices for independent businesses.
Thanks for showing me Russ & Daughters. I've lived in NYC since 2012 and there are still tons of new places to discover. I'm so glad you went to Cho Dang Gol. I love their savory potato pancakes. Bonus points for visiting Chelsea Market on a Saturday! FYI-- your joint video with Hot Thai Kitchen was my introduction to you & your channel.
Russ and Daughters is truly a must go-to in NYC. Not cheap, but so classic, so great, and worth it sitting at the basketball court. Some of those people have worked there for decades. Best New York bagels with fish ever, made with great care. My first stop every time - that is my neighbourhood. Miss it!!! I also get the white fish spread to go, with a couple more bagels. That is so addictive. Oh man, I miss NYC so much. The Jewish knish spot just North a couple blocks with the original yogurt drink cultivated for years - you must get that. Also the Turkish kebab wrap late at night after the music sitting on a stoop. Love.
People keep commenting "Where's Ying's food?" and things like that as though she is dragged around to film and then starved to death. Like every SECOND of their lives is caught on video, and with no editing. LMAO! Good heavens!
heartbreakmanNo1 As far as I know, this is Mark's vlog. Ying seems shy, as far as what I see so leave it be. They are married and if they decide Ying to be in so be it, otherwise it is Mark's as far as I'm concerned. I do love those snippets of Ying, but she always strikes me as shy and happy to do what she does. Just my observation obviously as I don't know them.
It's Sunday folks...and Mark has just made your day that extra special. Am I wrong? Click the thumbs up and you'll see that I'm right, Right, let's see what happens when you get a juicy salmon sandwich on your screen :) MERRY CHRISTMAS from Cambodia
His expressions are priceless ☺️ The Russ & Daughters is a Jewish Delicatessen and the proper way of saying salmon and a bagel is a bagel and lox’s ☺️ Just for future reference.
I'm from Phx, AZ myself and this vlog makes me crave good Mexican food. I live in Berlin, Germany now and luckily found a place which makes SF Mission style burritos since the owner is from SF. Good Mexican restaurants are hard to come by here in Berlin. But I miss good old fashion street tacos. Thanks for posting.
For you all who think Mark is fake I am here to tell you he is not. I look for the head tilt because that lets me know the food is awesome! He does not do that head tilt in every video y’all. Thank you for all you do, Mark. Much appreciated! ✨💖💯✨
Was going to write the same.Lol...He closes his eyes and falls to his right. I think there's hardly anything Mark does not like or too polite to say so. :D
He commented on how they wrapped the back ends with little cones too, which I thought was really great (never seen that before myself), but then he didn't use them, which was disappointing (probably either enjoying it more that way, or thinking that it helped show the taco better on camera).
In NYC, the worker response after "Thank You" is most often "No Problem". When one leaves NYC and maybe is in the South or Mid-West, the response is a genuine "You're Welcome". I'm sure it's just culturally ingrained in NYC but it makes a difference. We know it's "not a problem", but would rather feel welcome! Thank you!
No problem means I didn't mind going out of my way to do this for you. You're welcome means I did something for you I didn't have to, and you should be glad I did. One is more "polite" while the other is genuinely nice. I'll take a no problem over a you're welcome any day of the week.
Autumn Absinthe You're mistaken because gravLAX and Lox are different. GravLAX is just brined while Nova LOX is brined and cold smoked. LOX is used with bagels for over 50 years in NYC. Lox is very popular.
EH CBunny technically lox and smoked salmon are different. Lox is salt cured or brined smoked salmon is smoked. In NY, people call both things "lox." We ALL day "bagels and lox." But 90% of the time people are eating smoked salmon and not lox. Lox is very salty. Please google the difference between lox and smoked salmon if you don't believe me ;)
holy shit, almost 14$ for that one classic bagel sandwhich and 14$ dollar for all the tacos. Damn I think I'm gonna stick to mexican food when I'm in New York.
You can get great bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwiches for like $3. Mark went to too many hyped up joints and tourist traps in NYC Normally, a smoked salmon one will set you back around $7
Actually, you can get it for way cheaper in NYC, which of course is super abundant with deli's, pizzeria's, bagel shops, cafe's, etc. I've lived in the city my whole life and I would never pay that much for it. The one's I've been at charge no more than $5 for a bagel sandwich, heck, $7 at max. For example, that $31 pizza? Pizza pies cost $8 by my place in NYC. All these places are tourist traps in high-tourism locations and they know that most tourist's don't know better, so they charge more.
I think you're in the wrong place then. Channel name says "Mark Wiens." :p Sure, Ying is nice and helps out a lot, but this isn't her thing so much, at least not as a reviewer on this channel. You can tell by her expressions, if you've been paying attention.
Mark I just want to say I normally have problems with appetite but I watch your videos and see you enjoy so many foods that I feel I can get through even one more meal :) thank you
You can't recreate this sandwich because you are not using NYC bagels. They are on another level. Frozen bagels you get in grocery stores cannot compare.

It's too bad there are no salmons in the rivers around NYC to catch. Down on the LES where he was there is a bagel shop he could have got a dozen bagels for less than what he paid then make his own salmon sandwiches with his catch. An maybe pick an onion up on that old elevated train tracks that now grows flowers and maybe vegetables. Going cheap in NYC!
*Depending on if you go to/find an Authentic Sushi place you can get order very fresh sushi flown in from Japan. But those restaurants are mega expensive. But yeah Welcome to NYC LOL*
Hello Mark Wiens! I would love to see Ying do a video on how it's like to travel around the world trying new food with you her lovely husband and know if she has any preferences on different types of food. thanks for your time!!
Jellesn I was scrolling through the comments, thinking if I'm the only one that notices that. I hate it. The staring, the talking with food in your mouth and the fking crazy eyes.
Did you know Paris has a park like that one too. It's called Promenade Planter. It was also converted from an old train infrastructure. I can't wait to see it myself.
It's almost 3:30 in the morning and just happened to wake up and my notification went on... Thanks for the video and hungry for tacos and no salmon in the fridge, only bagel and cream cheese.... good enough.

$13.88 for a lox 'n bagel! holly jeez... that's criminal.
no thats new york, middle class people love to over pay for bullshit to feel rich and posh
they also love to wait in lines, people are fucktarded
also, that korean dinner for two for $55?? that's steep, even in korea town in LA that would be about $35.
You can't recreate this sandwich because you are not using NYC bagels. They are on another level. Frozen bagels you get in grocery stores cannot compare.
