New York City is an incredible food city because of the diversity of the food available. On this New York City food tour we started off the day by going to one of the most famous restaurants in NYC, Katz's Delicatessen to eat pastrami. Next, we ate at a restaurants in New York City Chinatown called Spicy Village for an amazing pan of “Spicy Big Tray Chicken,” and for dinner I had chicken over rice from The Halal Guys, one of the most popular New York City street foods.
1:21 Katz's Delicatessen - There are few places in New York City for food as famous as Katz's Delicatessen, an absolute legendary deli in the city. Although it’s well overpriced, because it’s such a heritage NYC institution, it’s one of the must eat restaurants in the city. I arrived early in the morning, hoping to beat the crowds, which I did (go for breakfast if you want to avoid lines). After a little contemplation, I decided to go for the reuben with pastrami and a half of corned beef. The corned beef was alright, but the reuben with pastrami was incredible. Total price - $48.56
13:32 Spicy Village - Next up on this New York City food tour my wife and I walked around New York City Chinatown and eventually found our way over to a restaurant called Spicy Village (thanks to Monty for this recommendation). The one dish I mainly wanted to eat at Spicy Village was the Spicy big tray chicken, a pan of fried chicken parts and noodles in a spicy and mouth numbing broth. It was everything I had hoped for and more, and it was one of the best foods I ate in New York City! Total price - $22 - But along with the spicy big tray chicken we had an extra dish as well.
18:32 Times Square - One of the busiest and most recognized squares in the world is Times Square in New York City. So in the afternoon, happy and full of Spicy Village and Katz’s Deli, we walked over to Times Square to enjoy the people watching and the ridiculous amount of lights and action.
20:19 The Halal Guys - While walking through Times Square I remembered that one of the most popular New York City street food stalls wasn’t too far away. So we walked over to The Halal Guys, and I ordered chicken over rice. The chicken over rice itself is prepared pretty plain, but the flavor in The Halal Guys is all in the white and red sauce, both of which are incredibly flavorful and delicious. It was my first time to eat at The Halal Guys, and I’m pretty happy I did. Chicken over rice - $7
It was a great first full day in New York City with some incredibly delicious food. Probably my favorite dish of the day was the spicy big tray chicken from Spicy Village, but all the food was so food.

I think Mark Wiens judges how good the food is by how far he tilts his head to the side!!! And that Pastrami sandwich was a definite 45 degrees of goodness!!! Lol
Solomon Tirwomwe ____, Ha ha ha ha
😂😂😂 LOL. 45 degrees of goodness.
he has 2 expressions. 1.) The head tilting. 2.) Where he opens his eyes wide and nods affirmatively.
Every video will have these two. No more. hahaha

Mark just seems like such a genuine person. He’s always friendly in his videos and excited for every cultures food. So glad he’s on RUclips. Thank you, Mark! Keep on eatin’!!
He actually comes across as so phony. His personality is so fake and put on.
@@grayninja9958 Totally agree. There's clearly a lot of acting in his routine.
Everything he eats triggers such shock and disbelief that either he has twice the number of tastebuds others have, or he is imprisoned and starved by captors between videos, or the reactions are deliberstely exaggerated.
@@AnonYmous-ry2jn that's what I like about him and his traveling food vids .If you cook good food it's persons big reaction that's gratifying.
I find he look as though he has a serious controlling and anger problem...but hides it well

Thank you Eric!

I know! That's why i really love watching him!! ❤❤
How could you not love what he does? He literally travels around the world and eats food. It couldn't be better.
He loves everything. In Taiwan an old man drained a neck boil and presented it as custard and mark lived the raspberry custard.
Fantastic as always! What I love about you is that every SINGLE video, you chow down. And I mean, you REALLY gobble up food!
Sooo many food reviewers on youtube take a tiny little bite or nibble of the food that borderlines on offensiveness, and then they go into some 5 minute soliloquy of describing the food in incoherent thoughts. It comes off fake unless you actually EAT!
NO ONE EATS in their food reviews!
But YOU- YOU SIR, are always gobbling down like it's your last meal on earth! It's actually mind boggling how much you eat in your videos lol. But that's what makes it genuine and AUTHENTIC! Love it!

@@grayninja9958 some people - me included - genuinely enjoy and appreciate almost any food. I always approach new food and new places in my travels with excitement. And his choices are generally from recommendations. There is no reason why someone can’t enjoy all food unless they are picky eaters.
The amount of Halal Guys hot sauce on Mark’s platter was mind-boggling! As a regular I know how hot that sauce is, so either Mark is a mega-hardcore spicy eater, or he simply didn’t know/remember how spicy it is 😂😅
my guy eats thai chilies like candy, so at that point i doubt anything is too spicy for him xD
He’s used to the spice. It’s not spicy for him
It is spicy lol
Yeah I couldn't believe how much he put on there. He ate as much hot sauce in 2 bites as I would've in my entire bowl

The Pastrami sandwich looked delicious great choice. 2.the bowl you had, the right mixture of ingredients.3.Trader joes great places to shop.it’s great you tasted the chicken and rice before putting on the sauce, gives everyone to different view, your right New York is great.
my first katzs experience was pretty magical. store bought pastrami is not even close to what they serve here. it is indescribable and a must do. the ticket system is pretty neat too, i like how they sell the shirts.
when they carve the meat, they always give you the sample slices just to get your mouth going.
Marcel Rodriguez and that's ok.. but store bought pastrami is completely different than this. sort of like canned corned beef is not the same as a corned beef you would get in a restaurant.
If you ever go to Philadelphia, go check out Hershel's East Side Deli located in the Reading Terminal. Their pastrami and corned beef Reuben sandwiches are amazing. They're not stingy with the meat and are half the price of Katz deli. Best pastrami and Reuben sandwiches I've ever had.
@@Kre8iviT27 good to know. Nothing gets me more angry seeing pastrami on a menu and it's just deli meat.
This guy is a real foodjunkie, nods off like he just got his fix! Love it! ;)
That pastrami was out of this world. It's clear why Katz's is world famous.
Yea made my mouth water seeing him eating that good stuff. Mmmm...
Robert J. Holtz it's not world famous I lived New York 10 years and in the trade and never heard of it
Raymond Duggan I've never been to New York and I've heard of and seen Katz's deli on tv many, many times. People from all over the world visit NY just to eat there.
not that world famous, again never heard of it
Raymond Duggan believe it or not, your personal world view does not necessarily reflect actual reality. For example, just because you've never heard of something doesn't mean it isn't famous.
He went inter galactic to heaven at Katz, on that first bite!! Waaa! I am a native New Yorker and left in my 50’s . My Mom used to bring me & my sister to Katz at 10 years old (after we shopped on Delancy Street), until I was old enough to come by myself for Rubens! this guys smile just doesnt go away. at first i wondered in a couple shots whether hes one of those who constantly smile out of politeness or whatever, then i thought maybe hes just showing off his perfect teeth. a few minutes into the video i realized it was actually pure honest enthusiasm and when he showed us the sandwich i completely understood why this man had been grinning from ear to ear like the joker. what an energyzing man. i had a cop at my door earlier investigating if i actually live in my appt(god knows why) but after watching this man i feel extra enthusiastic... and hungry
I am enjoying, very much, your World tour of food. I had a Jewish friend in NYC who explained that there are two types of deli in NYC. One serves hand cut (thick) pastrami and meat, the other machine cut (thin). He took me to both on separate days and I loved both. The hand cut is more tender but the machine cut, although perhaps a little tougher, was also very tender due to the thinness of the multiple slices. Also, not to take anything away from this tour, Toronto where I live which the UN calls the World's most cosmopolitan city offers every food you have consumed so far on this tour. Next time, consider coming here for at least a week and try it all. 👍🏻
Great to hear from you, that's a very interesting observation, thanks for sharing. Other than from a packet, I don't think I've tried fresh pastrami that's machine cut, sounds good as well. I would love to visit Toronto in the future. Thank you!
Let me know and I can either take you both around or make suggestions good and bad. I,e, today, an excellent Italian restaurant is featuring raviolis in festive shapes i.e. Wreaths, trees etc. They may be delicious but it turned me right oft!😅

Mark, you should have gotten chicken and lamb over rice, big mistake
***** Really? Thats a damn shame, forgive my ignorance then as most of the halal carts around me in Nassau have lamb. I want to try the beef now though Mark Wiens Hey Mark I love your channel and am very glad you're enjoying the city :)
Is the food there really that good? I've seen quite a few vloggers, tv shows, and websites talk about the Halal guys and to be honest every time I see that food the meat looks super dry. I would love to visit NYC one day and I'm saving to do so but it looks like a food stand that I would skip. It just doesn't look all that great to me, but maybe I'm wrong.
Ebony Arnold The white and hot sauces really make the food come alive and are a must imo, otherwise I guess it can be abit dry yeah but still tastes great. The quality of each place varies just like any other food service
Halal food trucks are really good. If i see one and it's time to eat, I usually stop.
Dark Secret: the "white sauce" in almost all Halal carts in NYC, including Halal Guys, it generic mayo mixed with water. That's why, when Marc read the ingredients of the packet, it was mainly soybean oil, eggs, vinegar.
Real "white sauce" i.e. Tzatziki sauce should be plain yogurt, lemon juice, crushed garlic, and shredded cucumber.
I'm a big fan of your metabolism Mark. You have meals literally more than thrice a day and still you are buying nuts and almond milk !!!
Always tilts to the right , but he sgints his right eye and his left eye gets really round!
