Man, the old school 2.5D C&C games had such love and detail put into their maps. This was a really cool video, the Allied one too, some of the secrets I didn't even notice. Can't wait to see you do these videos for Yuri's Revenge.
Red Alert 1 & 2 (and their expansions) were memorable, fun, and very interesting. Red Alert 3 feels restrictive with its level design, mission/objective layout, forced "co-op ready" AI commander (that more often than not screws up the flow and planning of battles), and its poor implementation of Secondary Abilities. I wouldn't mind seeing Red Alert 2 recreated from the ground up as a full 3D game (à la Generals, Tiberium Wars, Red Alert 3), with remastered videos, larger maps, secondary objectives, bonuses that carry over between levels, maybe adding a side mission or two to each faction in Yuri's Revenge (which is quite short). Heck, hire Udo Kier and add Yuri's faction to the campaign (dude is 76, BTW, so better hurry up).
These games were simple to make and they can put their love and effort instead of trying to develop the game and engine at the same time. Imagine that the first Starcraft had much more campaign on a single game, while Blizzard took years and 3 separate game purchases to complete the whole story. Then again, standards are higher today and you can't get away in releasing a 2.5D RTS nowadays.
well that mission came with a countdown timer, it have enough time for you to build multiple terror drones, I like it better to deploy on their mcv's designated location and start building
I know it’s stupid to do this, especially when doing this will inevitably lead to you failing the mission, but load a bus up with engies, then drive them near the Battle Lab and have them rush it. You want a good laugh? Show the trick to someone that hasn’t completed the mission, then watch as they flip out when they realize that they now have to defend the Psychic Beacon. That just spawned where the Battle Lab was. Inside of the otherwise completely intact Allied base. And the AI is going to rush the Beacon with Grizzlies and IFVs in no time flat.

Soviet Mission 11 I have 2 tips to easy to play : 1) 2 ways on your base have oil pumb and repairer ,use engineer capture that 2 things you can defend your base like a fortress ,that's helpful. 2) use nuclear missile to boom the objective and don't forget defend with your airshoots so much can break kerobe quickly. Soviet Mission 12 I have tip to play : capture enermy land after you defead ailed ships ,that's helpful and I recommend to use yuri to much.
I remember using Kirovs in Red Revolution to continuously bomb the ground on the path Yuri's troops take to attack your base. Made it much easier to defend it. No idea if it works on the higher difficulties though.
I have a tip for Mission 12. Capture the Allied base at the coast instead of destroying it and build a Satellite Uplink. It makes life sooo much easier when you exactly see where their positions are. Undoubtedly, some people are gonna tell me that they have been doing that the whole time but I thought I mention it for those who didn't think of it so far.
first mission if you destroy the ships at the port/docks after promoting conscripts you can manage to get out with 3-4 Elite conscripts to finish the mission with more ease, second mission you can use busses to transfer troops, I usually send 5 engineers and take the entire allied base XD
Well or you could send you mcv straight to allied base, deploy behind the left twin tower, sell it and use your conscipt in left tower, use engineer capture the allied teach center u will instantly win after few min
My best tip which wasn't mentioned here was for mission 3, Big apple. There are a number of school busses parked below 1 of the overpass roads and with your Yuri units, if you capture a school bus with each Yuri, (I can't remember how many you get) you can fill each with 5 infantry and drive them straight to the towers/battle lab without being destroyed. If you fill 1 with engineers, some with conscripts (to then garrison the towers) and then use whatever other infantry you have available at the time. and leave them there while you build up armoured units and other things. Once you're ready, let them out to do their thing and your engineers can capture pretty much every building in the area.
I have an interesting things too. In Chrono Defense if you don't destroy propaganda truck the civilians will be attacking our base too, and if you capture tech repair pad the few of flak troopers will be available. In Red Revolution there's a few of crates on map In Polar Storm in airfield in the north will be available 3 kirovs.
In the final mission you get a couple of Kirovs on the northeastern ore field next to the tech Airport. I suppose that’s a given since you’d naturally make your way up there if you didn’t Kirov rush the Chronosphere already
Whats funny with those older RTS games is that the map is huge compared to a more modern RTS I mean C&C3 maps are tiny if you compare them. Sure Sup Com have maps that are big enough
Another tip for mission 3: the school buses are transports, each holding 5 infantry units. And they are civilian vehicles that the allies will not shoot at. You can find a bunch of them about midway between your start and the twin towers.
In mission 3 (Big apple) you didn't notice one thing. Under the bridge are some school buses. If you mind control them, you can secretly and unnoticed transport 5 infantry in each... anywhere. Right to enemy base. Enemy will wont attack them, even if they unload infantry oh his sight.
You forgot to mention that in Chrono Defense mission, you can also garrison tents on the right bottom corner of the map which give you crates with money. Anyways I only surprisingly didn't know about 3:20 secret, the rest was well-known to me.
ah wups my brain did not engage that was a slightly counter-intuitive way of arranging it though, since you've got to repair access to that are first before you can attack the building
In the mission Big Apple, there is a hidden tesla reactor in the top, outside of the map. In the case, if you lose all your reactors, the psychic beacon still can work
Mission 3... Oh well you see I destroyed the twin tower in my game. You still get the crates, just didn't know that by garrissoning you could get those crates too.
Red Revolution has a little easter egg with trees forming map designer's initials. Polar Storm had something too - a neutral airport with some Kirovs? I don't remember exacrtly, but there was something in the northern half.
1:58 There is a shortcut with discretly sending one rhino heavy tank to the full left side and going down to the US construction yard with oil tanks. They sell everything after it is destroyed.
In mission five, there is another flak truck filled with nothing at the middle left, near where you receive a bunch of Tesla troopers. Ahh, I wish I could build that Eiffel Tower in skirmish. That’d me extremely cool. I also wish I could see the whole map in mission 10. It seems that it is a Shore that is inaccessible by sea.
I loved discovering some of these hidden things before because I'm usually afraid to make the next few moves so I just explore everywhere else haha suddenly new unit pop out of nowhere like it's a bag of candies thank you very much haha
In the mission against Yuri, If you send the two kirovs on the west side upwards you can get them behind enemy lines and win without a sweat. And in the last one get an elite dreadnought, get it along the west side cliffs and let it rain fire. The splash damage can easily destroy the chronosphere. Without having to eyeball with a nuke.
There is also a good secret catch when pushing towards the main island. This might have to do with the orefields, if I have to ask, the chrono reinforcements will respawn there continuously.
My favorite thing to do in the third mission is to park a mind-controlled vehicle in front of the ore refineries. This will block the Chrono Miners from making a deposit, causing the Allies to go bankrupt during this mission. I always found it amusing watching the Chrono Miners driving around all confused! XD
On the chroni defense mission, I thought the allied javy implied they would be attacking eith endless carriers snd destroyers, meaning I had to focus entirely on building a navy. When barely any ships came, but tanks started rolling up and they announced they established a base, I had literally no ground defneses built, no war factory, and no troops trained WHATSOEVER. I still managed to not die, but that was a rerrifying moment.
in the first mission, it's useful to destroy civilian boats and ships to the right side of your starting base. They give significant experience to troops, conscripts get promotions but idk if it's enough to promote tanks
I like how in RA2 every building from the Eiffel Tower to a simple farmhouse is, apparently, 4-20 (nice) feet tall, except for the Twin Towers which are horrifyingly colossal doom fortresses
7:31 More of an easter egg than anything else, in the southeast corner of the map, on the plateau with the airfield, is a visual easter egg in the form of trees spelling ACC; if a unit is placed nearby, a message will appear reading "TSC & ACC 11/21/98". An identical easter egg exists in Chrono Storm and Red Dawn, only without any nearby bonuses.
You forgot the hidden island in 1. You need to cheat to drive a ship to south-east, and found an island. A message will be triggered and you can see the tree’s pattern forms some letters.
Operation:The Fox and hound, capturing the allies barracks and infiltrating their battle lab gives you the ability to train chrono ivans. Which is weird since infiltrating allied lab + allied barracks should give you chrono commando instead.
0:15 The first mission is so easy that sometimes I don't even use any troops, just the War Miner to clear the level. After it collects all the crates, it is a sturdy unit. 7:35 Maybe not a tip but more of a warning, but don't build a Spylink Satelite before discovering the north part of the larger landmass. There are neutral units that are supposed to come under the player's control once a unit is close enough, but if the player builds a Spylink Satelite before this, their discovery flag won't work and those units will stay neutral & hostile to the player.
In mission 10 I have found an island with a yuri clone on it. You have to wait until the weather control device appears but you don't destroy it. so you continue to explore the map. I didn't notice it until I was much older.
I do love that you stillmake this videos, but, there is a thing to find in the last Soviet mission: in the north, there's an airfield with some Kirovs.
In mission 11 if you go east from your base past the oil derricks you'll find a pattern made from trees forming letters. If you go there a message will appear. Also in mission 12 if you go to the top right corner of the map you'll find 3 kirovs you can use :) edit: missed the ending XD
You missed one on mission 3, the big Apple. To the right side of base, probably bottom centre, there's a load of school buses. You can mind control one, garrison units in it, then drive up to base completely undetected. Very easy to capture battle lab very quickly and finish mission.
In Red Revolution, 2 Kirovs forced-drop bombs on enemy path on the east can massacre 80% of in-coming enemies, especially infantries and light armors. This can be a very effective way to level up your Kirovs. Tanks and a few lucky infantries, and especially Terror Drones will get through, so be prepared.

in the first mission, it's useful to destroy civilian boats and ships to the right side of your starting base. They give significant experience to troops, conscripts get promotions but idk if it's enough to promote tanks
Holy shit a red alert 2 channel on 2020 NOW THATS QUALITY CONTENT
Those will be on a separate video.
@@tg.Sacred so... why don't you do it he say?
@@Danielfury_wolves it has been done
In hindsight it seems like they put a lot more effort into the allied campaign when it comes to easter eggs and secrets.
Nice video though! :)
You forgot the hidden island in 1. You need to cheat to drive a ship to south-east, and found an island. A message will be triggered and you can see the tree’s pattern forms some letters.
This will go to the easter eggs video.
@@tg.Sacred DO THAT HE SAY PLEASE!!
@@Danielfury_wolves it has already been done
@@tg.Sacred ouh🤣
Operation:The Fox and hound, capturing the allies barracks and infiltrating their battle lab gives you the ability to train chrono ivans. Which is weird since infiltrating allied lab + allied barracks should give you chrono commando instead.
Wow I missed this game so much! Thanks for making RA2 content!"
in mission 7, if you garrison the tents in the south east you'll also get crates
and in mission 9, wasn't there a paratrooper tech building somewhere?
@@TheLumberjack1987 i think the paradrop tech building is quite obvious
@@minh3264 okay fair enough^^
Nice video dude .. this video is useful. Thanks a lot.
In big apple there is also an allied war factory in the south east
in Big Apple mission you can also capture school buses to transport your troops without being attacked
Yes but it's not that useful as it was in the allied mission.
In mission 10 I have found an island with a yuri clone on it. You have to wait until the weather control device appears but you don't destroy it. so you continue to explore the map.
I didn't notice it until I was much older.
Yes, it's shown in the video.
@@tg.Sacred You did't do it cuz the word he say, such a shame
@@Danielfury_wolves what are you talking about ?
U know in bad apple u can just mind control the school buses and use to transport infantrys to the enemy base and ambush them
I do love that you stillmake this videos, but, there is a thing to find in the last Soviet mission: in the north, there's an airfield with some Kirovs.
Yes it’s just that it’s right in your way, everyone knows about it!
@@tg.Sacred Oh my, my memories must be blurry, I recalled it needs a bit more flying around.
this vid brings old memories.i am a huge fan of this game. istill have it installed in my computer
I recently found out that In mission 9 if you infiltrate allied tech center you can get chrono Ivan. I thought it's worth mentioning.
idk if this works in red alert 2 but capturing an ore refinery at the exact moment a miner docks allows you to capture the unit too
Finally The Soviet's Hi Again!
How About Yuris Revenge?
In mission 11 if you go east from your base past the oil derricks you'll find a pattern made from trees forming letters. If you go there a message will appear. Also in mission 12 if you go to the top right corner of the map you'll find 3 kirovs you can use :)
edit: missed the ending XD
You missed one on mission 3, the big Apple. To the right side of base, probably bottom centre, there's a load of school buses. You can mind control one, garrison units in it, then drive up to base completely undetected. Very easy to capture battle lab very quickly and finish mission.
'Silence him Yuri!'
'Uuaaaghh'
I lol'd :')
Soviet commander: Can we gain crates by repairing monuent instead destroy it?
Game: You want Cow crates?
In Red Revolution, 2 Kirovs forced-drop bombs on enemy path on the east can massacre 80% of in-coming enemies, especially infantries and light armors. This can be a very effective way to level up your Kirovs.
Tanks and a few lucky infantries, and especially Terror Drones will get through, so be prepared.
At 0:30 about, if you kill the boats you get crates too I believe.
Should i be proud of myself because i knew a lot of them? *cough* *cough* humility at its best
Also this game deserves a remake , i believe it will a big deal if done correctly
Nice channel btw, didn't know there are still people passionate about the game
thanks for the video! It's useful
In the mission in Paris, there is another half-track in the bottom left part of the map, south of the soccer field.
0:20 btw the ships in there too can make your soldiers promoted if they where destroyed
