Finally! A great Yumi episode. Between stopping Aelita from destroying the sector and keeping William from joining the Lyoko Warriors, she really saved some bacon.
I don't really care for the fact that William was convinced that Ulrich was the vote for a 'no' and Ulrich got blamed for it instead of Yumi. that's some kind of blind trust, there.
if Yumi had chosen to trust William enough to vote 'yes', he probably would never have had a reason to let Xana control him the way it happened once he was welcomed as a Lyoko warrior. that's a flaw I see with Yumi not trusting William in this episode. sure, she saved the ice sector, but voting for William to become a Lyoko warrior in this episode might have saved the others the trouble of having to deal with William as an enemy in later episodes. Yumi doesn't deserve his blind trust.
@@GrandpasGirlKimHoffmannhonestly it feels like it could have been just as bad. With the skipezoas existence and how easy it is for it to implant its influence in people at this point in the show (especially with Xana being free of the Lyoko supercomputer and actively trying to destroy it and all its sectors) it really is an inappropriate time to introduce a completely new inexperienced person without the same sense of duty and understanding if just how important this task is into the mix; with all the vulnerabilities associated with the lack of Lyoko warrior experience. Like how Jeremey was so easily possessed by Xana for so long because he's not actively on Lyoko like the others. I think if William or Sissy were introduced before Xana stole the keys to Lyoko from Aelita it would be different because Xana wouldn't really have any use for a puppet in the same way since he wouldn't be able to sequester them away into an undisclosed part of the Internet like he does when he finally gets William. So In all I think the question of including a new person into the group was introduced amongst the group way to late in the game because of just how lethal Xana has become with his escape into the Internet. Also I totally understand Yumi's hesitance just based on her being done with Williams attitude towards her at this point- she kinda called his ass out on his Casanova behavior and aside from that, he's constantly on her in an almost harassing way. It would be shitty to deal with that kinda person generally, but it would be another thing in an inner friend group level where trust is necessary. I just... I get her perspective is what I'm saying.
Man these teachers are so chill, we had to have a life or death situation in order to just go to the water fountain and even then its one person at a time

I would like to think 5 episodes of training would definitely would help him out plus he started on Sector 5 which is the hardest sector on Lyoko other than the Cortex. Just little bit mad that William didn’t get to do some team work on Lyoko and in the real world. We got Evolution at least but everyone has been nerfed. At least we got Code Lyoko RDT
Everyone was a boss this episode Jeremy- 4:44 (Rap god) Odd- 11:03 or 13:03(Thug life) Ulrich- 13:12(Smoothest double kill in the history of lyoko) Yumi - 21:32(First and only person to have the common sense to devirtualize xanafied aelita...and look cool while doing it) ...Then we have Aelita 16:30
Literally all she had to do was stay in the tower but I guess she didn't learn from when she destroyed the desert.... crazy cuz she always use to in season 1 and 2
Lots of interesting stuff: the history presentation, Yumi ticked w/William, his following them, the bombs planted- And Yumi dealing w/that tough monster and controlled Aelita. Close call with the detonator, and solid end w/the vote.
Makes you wonder how far the factory is from the academy. For William to be winded after running through the tunnels , it must have been some distance. I understand the Lyoko Warriors own skateboards and scooters for ease but William is pretty active from what they've shown(?)
>yumi rejects william joining now >two sectors get destroyed by the finale >william joins >gets possessed and destroys lyoko yeah... uh, i'm pretty sure that william would've been far more competent here than the literal season finale.
If William had joined here. He’d have been virtualized often enough to know the risks of the Scyphazoa AND become more resistant to possession. It’s never confirmed but I fully believe it would have taken longer for the Scyphazoa to posses him if it hadn’t been his first run. But they waited till all the chips were down to call him in and he paid the price for it. All because they couldn’t bring themselves to trust an outsider, even someone who was good, kind, and noble.
@@xanderfulton3186 I mean, XANA William was hands-down the best fucking antagonist that Code Lyoko ever had. Even so, they had to do my boy Willie so dirty throughout the show. Never got the girl, got virtualised once and ended up possessed and virtualised for months, gets freed from Lyoko, but can't take part in the final mission and briefly gets possessed IRL in the finale. Even when I was in primary school watching this show as it aired, I felt like William never got to shine.
@@xanderfulton3186 - Let’s not give William any context. -Let’s make it clear that we do not completely trust William -Let’s make the most difficult mission William’s tutorial -Let’s have the girl that gets captured every episode to be his only companion. -Let’s not tell him that the jellyfish monster is literally unstoppable and has the powers to mess with your brain. -Let’s act like William was the only one who did not take Lyoko seriously after the first virtualization. We knew we couldn’t trust William “sigh”
I really wanted to slap the writers during this episode. Why build so much tension with William joining the group only to have him not join? Ugh! Besides that, imagine how much could've been avoided if Yumi allowed him to join. He wouldn't be a noob when Xana attacks the core of lyoko, which is like one of the hardest missions, and would've been more serious after being trained with the surface sectors still intact. William's outfit is super baddass. (Not talking about his XANAfied one, but the Mister Puck one) It would've been great to see him fight with them. (I know he does in Evolution, but I want to see him do so in THIS animation with his old original outfit)
I know this is five years old but the reason is that William was just too much of a wild card for them. Yes he can be super helpful and noble, but he also can be very stubborn and arrogant. I completely get why Yumi did'nt trust him, I do have an issue with the writers choosing to wait so long to save William from Xana in season 4 but I've never had an issue for him being denied in this episode.
@@Cloud-dt6xb We saw how mature and serious William is in the zombie episode though. Plus in this episode he proved to not be those things. Besides, Yumi didn't even see how helpful he was in this episode and serious he was in the zombie episode like the others did, which was why they wanted him to join. He saved their lives too. And William overall takes things seriously when he knows and sees how dangerous everything was and was strict on keeping everyone including Odd, Aelita, and Jeremie safe. It was overall just real cheap to have him join last-minute when we didn't get a chance to see him in his cool outfit and use his abilities more, see more of his in general, ect. And yeah I hate how long it took them to save William too. He basically came back at the end of the show! And as a HUGE fan of him, that also was very disappointing. (But, there's SOME closure knowing there was supposed to be a 5th season after he got saved at least.)
@@GrimReaper___ That Zombie episode is a good reason as to WHY they don't trust him, he starts bossing everyone around and assuming he's the one with all the answers. He looked down on Jeremy and the others not listenting to a word they said and even going so far as to attack them souly based on him thinking he's right. Then there's the fact his flirty behavior got to stalker levels with Yumi and yeah it's a no brainer why they were hesitant on him. And in the end he proved them right, not listening to their advice or warnings at all further showing his own arrogance which was always there. Again I do agree that William should've been saved like half way into the season instead of near the end and the second possession thing should never have happened as well. I get letting them be apprehensive to let him back in lyoko and I have no problem with that, but it did'nt have to be him as the last big real world Xana attack. Something else should've took his place so he could get a proper hero moment. But all that said the intial distrust to letting him join and the consequences of his arrogance are all things I do agree with. Infact had he been saved half way into the last season that could've been a good redemption arc for him.
@@Cloud-dt6xb In the zombie episode it proves that he cares about the others if anything, and wanted everyone to stay inside. Nothing wrong with that at all. Besides, if people are going to fault him for wanting the others to be safe in that episode alone, might as well fault Jeremy for being bossy throughout the entire show. And saying he had stalker behavior towards Yumi is a stretch. Idk why some people in the fandom say that, because it's not true whatsoever. William just so happens to bump into Yumi in general while coming from the movies, and other times. And yeah, he should've had way more screen time then he did when a good guy instead of being brainwashed for half the show...
Because this is the third episode to have kankrelats go down an ice slide and it always leads to their deaths...I think they were making a joke by having Odd shoot one at the end without even looking lol
4:48, actually it was Alucard who shot arch duke Ferdinand, he just blamed it on the other guy. 8:56, woah, that just happened, did she just invent twerking. 20:18, thats amazing, it only took Odd 10 seconds to leave the factory, wake up the guy, get an answer out of him, call Ulrich, and for Ulrich to find the detonator.
It really bothers me that at 3:43, Jeremy says "Aelita and *me* can't get out of History class", when it should be "Aelita and *I*..." After all, Jeremy's supposed to be the smart one.
Jacob Bocaj Ok 1. That was just how the script was written. 2. Most people don't think much on what they're going to say or what words they use, well this would be the case if we're taking this literally, of which apparently you are. It's not that much of a big deal.
Yumi throw the Tessen Fan as the last resort and managed to stop Aelita from entering the Way Tower to destroy the Ice Sector at the last minute. Thank goodness! I like how Ulrich give William a chance but for Yumi doesn't trust William.
That's bizarre, last time when the Principal was corrupted he snatched Odd and Yumi and was gonna Liquidate them and when Sissi was giving the Law enforcer details about her dad she mentioned Detonators. Now in this episode Xanas using detonators on the factory and their mission takes place in a Frozen Wasteland in Lyoko and they were almost frozen by the Cubic crawlers...
It turns out the writer had a hiccup and realized it after the fact and apologized for it, I thought the same thing when I first watched it like wtf then I found out and it makes more sense
9:55 Jeremy: "A big gang of them?" Me: No shit Jeremy hahaha! 13:06 Odd's aim is getting really good! As well as Ulrich's sword ability. 21:50 Also Yumi's throwing is getting better as well. 21:40 Hey Hey William can you teach me how to deactivate a bomb? Just for a science project lol. -August 12.2020
Say that I'm stupid, but maybe William was trying to crack up the suspense by saying "I can't swim" when he and Yumi was hanging on the bridge. I think it was a joke William thrown since I know that he aware that he *could* actually swim A wrong situation, but hey, it's William after all, guys (Yes I do know that Sophie apologized for her mistake when wrote this episode, but if she didn't, the let just assume that's what happen)
This episode is like an example that William should be totally be in the group. Spoiler: well it didn't go so well after he becomes Xana's Apprentice as in I like to call him Darth Vader and Xana is the emperor in a way.
I feel like Sissi deserved to be on their team way more than William, considering that she helped them on more than one occasion. And she did so without being a jerk. Idk, maybe I’m just being salty. But every time I rewatch this series it aggravates me how Sissi kept getting snubbed of character development.

I have never really liked William, yeah he's helped out just like Sissi has and it does seem like they would be good members of the team (Yes I know William becomes a warrior later on, this is like my 3rd or 4th time watching the show) but I just don't like him, he's annoying and I agree with Yumi, I never trusted him.
I know that William is a creep and reckless but the dude SAVED THEIR LIVES and yumis like "that's not good enough!" But 5 episodes later she's like "oh you helped me ditch class that means you're trustworthy." Come ON
Writing was never good in this show to be honest. If it was good, Aelita would stay in her tower instead of getting out. The truth is that we like the show because of what it could be, not of what it was. What it was was a mess of horrible animation, bad voice-acting and shitty writing with large plot holes. We accept the effort though, just that if it was made right now it would have been way better. Potential is there, just never unlocked.
@@proumkroum4481 I don't agree 100%. Considering aelita's exploring nature she would eventually leave the tower. I think the continuity is the real issue. The animation was fine and the story was excellent despite plot holes and the characters were awesome. The continuity is messed up, that's the actual issue. I never wanted more from this show it gave me everything I could want tbh
@@TheMikster95 Why would she leave the tower? That makes no sense. They literally told her to stay in the tower but...she got outside it for no reason so that she gets caught by Xana? WHY!? And how is the animation fine? The animation was terrible. Didn't you see how slow and static they looked like? Heck in some episodes, they re-used frames. I'm not talking about re-used animation like the transformation scene or something like that, I'm literally talking about re-used frames with actual backgrounds that don't fit. In the virtual world's animation, they do unnecessary moves and extremely slow. Uh, I wouldn't say the characters are awesome. The characters are mostly jerks except Aelita and maybe Odd. The gang literally treated William bad because...he got caught by XANA in his first mission in a crazy virtual world with no training? What? They almost all got caught by Xana's fish thing yet they treated him bad for something he had no control over. This is just dumb. There are more and more cases of the characters just being jerks that never got development(Can you tell me what is Ulrick's development? That guy is as interesting as a brick. What is Yumi's development? What is Odd's?) They never got developed. The continuity being messed up is also another case. If you like the show that's fine, I like it too but OMG if the show didn't have a bunch of HUGE writing issues. The problem is that in the time of airing, a lot of great shows were produced like Avatar, X-Men evolution...etc that all got coherent arcs and good characterization with development, not to mention a very good animation too. This show...uh, I guess the studio didn't care about it enough. I hope that it has a good reboot someday though.
@@proumkroum4481 odd realizes he can have time to do the things he wants , and eventually yumi and ulrich admit their feelings for each other. Ulrich is super relatable-tough guy talented but sentsive-incredibly raw. Funny you didnt mention heremy because he actually regresses. Jeremy in season 1 is amazing-hes sassy smart, and barely even nerdy. But later on he becomes way to protective of aelita, a workaholic and damn doesnt respect his friends. You get to see all of the characters development in the final episode where the show decides to slow down and focus on the characters and how they feel. In every episode where they return to the past and the characters could use it to their advantage, they didnt. Instead, they acted nice towards someone who was nasty to them prior to the xana attack but showed their true colors during the attack itself. That's incredibly compassionate, because the characters whose minds were wiped dont remember what good things they did so the lyoko warriors gain nothing bu treating them nicely. William is a different story. I agree they shouldnt blame him, but it's way too soon after his return for them to be treating him normally -they fought him for several months of course they'll be hesitant to accept him. It does bother me that they didnt shut down the super computer with him though. THAT is unforgivable. I dont care about the frames being reused. They change it up just enough for me not to care too much. The writing minus the continuity errors (which aren't as bad as you think) is great especially season 3 onwards. The characters dialouge is relatable and the story is pretty smart for a kids show. Deleting sectors, the core of lyoko, the skid and the replica and william being xanafied are brilliant creative choices that really spice up the narrative and there are barely filler episodes past season 2. Besides ATLA I have yet to find another cartoon that is as rewatchable as this show
I feel like William is being blatantly forced into the spotlight. As a result, his character seemed very different from his previous episodes. Practically a jerkass. He didn't start out as one at all. Ulrich's jealousy is the only reason William ever retorted with and against him. From Season 3 onward, he seems to have had a complete personality shift, resorting to stalking, being overtly pushy with Yumi, and coming off as condescending as well as possessing a large ego. Maybe it was done just to make the character important, but it didn't work for me. William was rather unnecessary to the story and wasn't titular until...you know what happened.
Mwua,, I dont agree. it's still believable cuz he got kicked of his precious school, so he prob always had an ego. He looked more supportive in the begin cuz he was new at school, but now that he suddenly see his schoolmates all being cryptic, hes curious. Especially in his age Also in 1 of the episodes, I forgot which one. He helped yumi out against the zombified school people, but after that he thought it was a dream. (Jemerie didn't want to revert back in time), That also had effect on him.
@@bloodnessx I think you mean this episode with the bom somewhere when xana wanted to blow up the super computer. He dreams about this not about the zombie moment. Pretty sure that in the zombie school episode William tried to stop Jeremy and stuff from leaving then pushed jeremy down and I don't think yumi was there. Then zombie jim later on got in and when William tried to fight back zombie Jim threw him outside of the school and he got surrounded by zombies and zombified and then Ulrich kicked him. Unless you mean xanafied episode.
William isn't a bad person. Has a big head yes, but he jumps into action and does the right thing when it is required. Even in this episode, he was willing to sacrifice himself and told ulric to leave to save himself. He's got multiple sides to him n that makes his character more believable.
Just feels like they tried to replace Sissy as the antagonist. If you've noticed she never tried pulling any more stunts, so now William is getting annoying.
I'll never forgive Yumi for this, not only was this a possibility that Xana wouldn't do what he did later because different time different you,HE LITERALLY DIDNT SNITCH TO JIM OR THE SCHOOL AND WAS ABOUT TO RISK HIS OWN LIFE FOR THE GROUP.I also like him as a character so the fact he has less screen time cuz of her increases my rage Another funny thing is I feel like if William wasnt there in the first few minutes of the episode but the episode somehow stayed the same,Yumi might have agreed.Personal grudges got in her way of thought

Lots of interesting stuff: the history presentation, Yumi ticked w/William, his following them, the bombs planted-
And Yumi dealing w/that tough monster and controlled Aelita.
Close call with the detonator, and solid end w/the vote.
The foreshadowing in this episode is insane and Yumi was on point. William couldn't be trusted and they all paid the price for it.
Makes you wonder how far the factory is from the academy. For William to be winded after running through the tunnels , it must have been some distance. I understand the Lyoko Warriors own skateboards and scooters for ease but William is pretty active from what they've shown(?)
Why did Mario try to blow up the factory?
He has past experience from the Wrecking Crew (NES).
He's blown up many castles. Guessing it's not too different

its a miii xaanaa
He was told that his princess was in another factory
Yumi is my favorite, she’s ALLLWAYS taking charge in lyoko.
Why does she keep leaving the tower knowing xana wants to get rid of the sectors
Because plot
>yumi rejects william joining now
>two sectors get destroyed by the finale
>william joins
>gets possessed and destroys lyoko
yeah... uh, i'm pretty sure that william would've been far more competent here than the literal season finale.
One of the few epidodes where a sector is saved from deletion, awesome 👍

Besides ATLA I have yet to find another cartoon that is as rewatchable as this show
I guess this is the episode that foreshadows William's place in the Gang
Especially in his age
Also in 1 of the episodes, I forgot which one.
Yumi dervirtualizing Aelita was so cool. Moments like that are why she's my favorite lyoko warrior

I'll never forgive Yumi for this, not only was this a possibility that Xana wouldn't do what he did later because different time different you,HE LITERALLY DIDNT SNITCH TO JIM OR THE SCHOOL AND WAS ABOUT TO RISK HIS OWN LIFE FOR THE GROUP.I also like him as a character so the fact he has less screen time cuz of her increases my rage
Another funny thing is I feel like if William wasnt there in the first few minutes of the episode but the episode somehow stayed the same,Yumi might have agreed.Personal grudges got in her way of thought
