Thanks for your detail explanation and it all makes sense. I've never rebuilt a PWC carb before and this will be my first one (two). I bought a 97 SeaDoo and the guy removed the choke plate and put a primer bulb hose in the hole. I guess he thought that was a good idea. He said he rebuilt it but I highly doubt it. So I bought a 96 carb on eBay and am going to rebuild it and put the 96 carb on the 97 machine. The eBay guy said they would match up but the 97 has an accelerator pump. He also said that it may take some extra dialing in/or even rebuilding the Jets to the '97 XP specifications. I'm wondering what would be the smart way to do this. Do you have any thoughts or suggestions? Todd
Nice video, good explain Also. I am rebuilding mine, Yamaha WR gp1200 99. I have an air leak from the "weird orings". When i dissasembled, the diaphragm was not. When i assambled it by the manual. Starts leaking air because of "weird oring" fail. I removed the diaphragm then the leak went down, but still. I sand grind the surface (flat Stone) AND get better but still leak. Same issue with the three carbs. I bought the service kit from eBay. Not Mikuni original parts. I put gasket sealant AND worked well, no leak. But i dont know if it a good Solution. What do you think i should try? New original kit? Gasoline gasket sealant? The popout pressure Is ok. Thanks un Advance,
8:12: "bless you" and also I have a 1997 Sea-Doo spx and I know it's a random question but you clearly know your jetskies but do you know how many shims go on each engine mount or know how to find that information
You find that out by aligning the engine. See my other video about the diy alignment tool. You will add or remove shims in each mount to align the engine
Out of the water the engine has no load, so therefore it can run off less fuel. If the carb was only slightly dirty it would let just enough fuel in to allow it to run out of water but when in water and under load it would fall on its face
@@jetskirehab750 funny. Thats exactly what mine did. Started up perfect..idled prefect..the second you give it gas...fall on its face. Rebuilt the carbs and shes good as new.
Best rebuild video I’ve seen for these carbs
Thank you for these excellent videos!! I was able to completely rebuild the dual carb on my 1995 Seadoo GTX with confidence!
Great video! Thank you! I just bought this exact same jet-ski and this video will help tremendously as the first thing I'm doing is rebuild the carbs.

Awesome video! But how would a dirty carb work on a trailer, but not in the water?? Can you explain please!
Out of the water the engine has no load, so therefore it can run off less fuel. If the carb was only slightly dirty it would let just enough fuel in to allow it to run out of water but when in water and under load it would fall on its face
