- We've done it. Or should I say, I've done it. You folks have done nothing other than cringe along to this jet ski rebuild series. I, on the other hand, have rebuilt an entire jet ski, and this is the video to wrap it all up. Thank god, you may say. I, on the other hand, will also say thank god. Thank god this series is over after 9 months. Women can create an entire human in that span of time. Apparently I can only make 6 videos.

A decent number of people seemed to like the first 5 of these videos, for whatever reason. Let's see if we can ruin that streak with this one.
Man, I've been checking in for weeks waiting for this video. You crack me up! Good work.
@@asdfasdf12341234ish Nice, now it's only another 10 weeks or so until the next one!
You just earned a sub
I literally just binged the rest of this series 3 hours ago how lucky am I
Now imagine you did this months ago and you had to wait months for this genius to drop another banger… yeah I’m happy
@@myron8676 Now imagine it took you months to create this video and you realistically won't get around to releasing another one for months.
Now imagine you take your time and pump out another banger of a series
I’ll wait
@@community7874 Ok, will do.
This will forever be one the best random RUclips documentaries I’ve seen please put all the parts in one video this needs more attention
Documentary is a generous term for this series...
Wow, what an excellent series, just finished watching #6. I am a retired engineer and rode Sea Doo machines for 15 years and did most of the maintenance and repair work myself. I cannot tell you how much I learned about the Sea Doo in the last couple of hours watching. You tried and succeeded in tasks I had not dared tackle (very inspirational to all of us). I am really looking forward to your next camper project. Well Done!
Thanks Joe! Any chance you have engineering connections in Vermont? The job selection is pretty slim here...
So I discovered the first video a little while ago because I like 2 stroke money pits like my 1997 seadoo xp, I then proceeded to binge watch the entire series while I should have been outside replacing the water pump on my 7.3. Kudos for making some some seriously funny and entertaining videos.
I'm honored you found this series binge-worthy!
Saw on my notifications and pressed it immediately!!! Amazing quality work brotha!
I'm honored
Yes! So glad everything came together! Also am excited to see that camper build! 8 months later and I’m still waiting on my top end from full bore! Glad you at least got to enjoy your ski this summer! Thanks for this series!
Just keep calling/emailing Full Bore. I think I annoyed them enough that they prioritized my cylinders.
@@reed.k.h hahahaha I’ll have to try that, thank you!
Hey man I used to live in Burlington, VT. Now I’m in Florida. I work an an A&P mechanic and I can honestly say you’re 1000x the mechanic I could ever dream of being. I binge watched your whole series. My gf knows nothing about mechanics and she watched it too because the commentary is absolutely classic😂. Subscribed instantly. Your material is awesome man. Excited to see what you do next.
You're too kind. I'm excited to see if I'll ever get this next video released.
Watched Part 1 and didn't stop till the very end. By far the best jetski rebuild series on youtube. All the sex jokes and novel based narration were hilarious. You deserve way more views and subscribers.
Wait... there are sex jokes?
Incredible video series man... LOVE your creativity and editing skills... You tell a MEAN story. Gives me hope I might be able to pull off some of my own magic and do the same to my ski, I JUST picked up the same ski in much worse condition then yours started out in.... without cutting it into little pieces and dumping it all in a local landfill...
AWESOME JOB !
Much appreciated, good luck with your rebuild!
I watched the entire series. Great work great video
Fantastic series. Love your OCD and attention to detail. Keep up the channel brother! And commentary 😂 hilarious 🤣
I'm guessing the OCD is why it takes me months to release a single video.
I recently bought a 1995 Seadoo SPI and this is an amazing video. I was very much more fortunate with it because it sat for 12 years and it still looks brand new. Fix it within 3 hours all I had to do was drain the gas and spray some spray called gum in the lines and it’s working perfectly. I love your jet ski I watched the whole series within an hour. Keep it up!!
3 hours of work for a functional jet ski is a pretty good deal!
Brilliant just watched your videos. I have this same ski out back. Makes me wana keep it and fix her up after seeing this 👏🏼
That's what I'm here for, offering inspiration
Well done man. I have a similar 97 that I got on a trade that’s a POS. I’m slowly learning how to fix it as it keeps breaking down. I don’t have time to troubleshoot myself so watching videos late at night when my family’s asleep or at work when I’m supposed to be working and not watching RUclips videos is the only way I can learn. Way to go!
The best time to watch RUclips is when you shouldn't be watching RUclips
Dude you awsome I have watched the whole series of this ski and honestly did learn a lot I just picked up a 97 and 94 . You kept me laughing out loud for real and my wife keeps looking at me funny!!! 😂😂😂❤❤❤
If I had a wife she'd look at me funny also. Glad you found some helpful info in the mishmash of gibberish!
Wow... those were the best 6 videos I’ve ever seen
Wow, I'm honored
I love your custom beautifully woven tapestry of witty commentary!! :D
Glad you like it, I made it just for you
I want to thank you for your video. You do amazing content and your restore work is incredible... Our crew rides Kawasaki SXRs 800 & 1500, plus many vintage 1994-1997 Yamaha Wave Blaster and Wave Blaster 2 over the years... Your work on that Sea-Doo is better than anything we've ever done. Mad Respect and Congratulations on your first Sea-Doo rebuild.... Thank you for creating such a good video.
Wow, such kind words. Thank you. My ego is inflating as we speak.
it's 12:44AM and I just binged this entire series. Well done!
Nicely done, thanks for watching!
@@reed.k.h I'm from Vermont and still go back to visit mom a few times a year. If you still have the ski this summer I'd enjoy seeing it in person.
You've inspired me to buy my own xp to rebuild and restore at only 14 I've created one of cleanest xps in my area. Thank you
Dude, that's epic.
That thing is beautiful man! Great job on bringing that old girl back around 😎
Yeah I'm pretty stoked on how she turned out. Thanks man!
Super underrated youtuber. I loved this series...also you convinced not to buy a jetski this old. Cheers
What, you don't think this looks like a good time?
The only other thing you may need to do is to get the exhaust plugs welded. I have J-B Marine Weld Epoxy on one of mine on my 96 XP which is working fine for now but ultimately they all need to be welded. I loved this series man, can't wait for the next project.
Damn, I didn't even consider that. The welds looked fine when I stripped the exhaust parts for painting, though.
@@reed.k.h Just keep an eye on it, it's just a matter of time and is pretty much guaranteed to happen at some point. Especially since your ski was built to run for another 25 years now.
@@zeero311 Cool cool, thanks for the heads up!
Just watched this again and I have to say you did a great job on a classic seadoo. Wish they didn't burn so much gas, but soooo fun to ride! Keeup up the great videos!
Glad it was worth a rewatch! I tried to keep some of the classic '90s character while giving it some much-needed love. I'll actually be selling the ski this spring to make room for a sailboat, but it sure got some great use over the past few years!
Dude that is fenniest jet ski video i saw . You are awesome)
Loved watching this project. Would love to see more weekly/biweekly updates in future projects if possible. Great video. 👏🏻
Sweet, maybe I'll slap some photos up on the Community page from time to time.
Most underrated RUclips channel
I really liked this series … you should do another one lol
This was awesome 😅 love the commentary
These are my kind of videos. Never been so focused because I might miss a good joke
They come at you hot and fast, gotta stay on your toes.
Awesome ending to the series! honestly some of the best commentary I've ever heard!
I love the color coded lines/hoses!
Also this upcoming camper build has me on the edge of my seat, can't wait!
Thanks for all the exclamation marks!
I just came to the realization that I loved this series! 😈
This channel is going to blow up, I just know it!
That would be pretty neato
Lmao you are a fool good stuff man I know exactly the feeling because I just rebuild my first ski which was a 95 wave venture
Hell yeah, feels good!
Enjoyed the whole build ! Nice work
Yeah same
This is awesome. Watched them all
🤘🏻🔥
Your commentary is absolutely amazing.
Why thank you
Excited for next project!!
Yeah same
That’s what it’s all about! Cruise on open waters in a lake gotta love it. You know jet skis make decent fishing boats if you put a live well in or on it
Hell yeah, open water offers so much freedom!
Great rebuild man I enjoyed watching all the rebuild videos 👍 hope to see more !
There will be more projects for sure!
Awesome work... I own a 1996 xp and gonna do the same here soon..
Fantastic series of videos on that Jetski. Really enjoyed it.
Why thank you
Thanks for satisfying my curiosity about how a jet ski works & convincing me to never buy a cheap used one!
Glad I could help!
Congrats! I just went through my 95 xp motor this week, other than stripped rv gear, flywheel area was immaculate, pistons, jugs, compression all very nice to!
I've heard of the RV gear stripping... what would cause that?
Water in motor, debris like a wrist pin falling, sudden stop of motor. If you haven’t already found them there is a GREAT seadoo 2 stroke owners group on FB
@@fuesselfc 🤘🏻Thanks for the wisdom.
Awesome video man.
Nice work man. Just watched the entire rebuild. Very cool.
I appreciate it!
Pretty cool videos!
Pretty cool comment!
I need to rebuild a two stroke jet ski just for the neighbor-part 😂
Yeah they love it
Awesome job man
🤣🤣 great series of videos dude. Thoroughly enjoyed. How much do you think you spent on the rebuild of the ski?
Thanks man! In total I spent a little over $2k
Just by chance found this series and its amazing, thank you for doing the work and letting us learn. Do you happen to have a cost break down for the project anywhere? Tools you needed and ones you didn't know you needed? And where do you get reliable replacement parts for an older project like this? Thanks in advance, again this was an awesome series!
Thanks for stopping by! The total cost of the project was around $2000. I do have a full expense breakdown, but it's a bit extensive for a comment. This project was years ago, so the only specific tool I remember buying was the spline tool for removing the flywheel. As for sourcing parts, eBay was my most reliable friend during this rebuild. There are a few watercraft superstores out there that stock old parts as well, although I definitely can't remember any of their names.
@@reed.k.h Thank you for getting back to me!
Loved this series, me and my step dad have a 97 sea doo SPX that runs really good it could just use a rebuild and a clean up.
Well done Bro ! I just watched the whole series in a streak ! You deserve a lot more of subscribers and views. Really sick content and an actually funny voice Over ahah ! Keep up the good Work !
I shall, albeit slowly
Really nice rebuild
Really nice comment
Excellent series! You captured my full erection and I just couldn’t look away until I finished it all. I mean attention! 😅 gosh silly me..
Either way, your humor, editing, cinematography, detail and excellent workmanship shows. Please keep up the work as I look forward to watching you… do stuff.. Cheers!

That dog sneeze close up!🤣🤣🤣🤣
I just bought a 1995 seadoo spi today and just binged this whole series and got nothing but excitement sadly I don’t have that much of winter left here in New York to get this done, but your video has light a fire in me to get this project going!
Hell yeah, instilling stoke is what I hope to achieve with these videos!
Great series
this was such a dope series
Damn right it was.
super cool Reed! you have to come down and do a crack pot vid this winter.
Thanks Bob, I'm definitely starting to feel the pre-season ski fever
do more jet ski shit bro love it
Yeah we'll see, gotta maintain some variety in projects for my own sanity.
I accidentally bored my 1996 wave venture 700 67cc’s over. I bought a .5 over kit thinking it was the 760 motor and the machine shop thought I was crazy and I didn’t know why till I put the pistons side by side and wow. End of the day I have over 20 hours on that engine and she’s still happy
Could probably use bigger jets now
Keep these 2 strokes alivee!!!!
Yeah I'm trying
@@reed.k.h what oil did you use?
That’s really cool
man you are so underrated you deserve so many more subscribers but please try to more frequently i love ur videos
Yeah if you wanna cover my living expenses I can quit my job and upload more frequently.
@@reed.k.h Oh.
Winning has never been so sexy. Man that Giraffe gets the juices flowing nicely.

Great Jetski story…
i added a relay to my ski and reversed that kill switch and installed a boat kill switch. i hated that rubber garment. xD My exhaust keeps failing tho breaking studs/backing out bolts. I bought a donor ski for $250
I hated the rubber key as well, it would never make consistent contact. A boat kill switch is a good call
Awesome content 😮 I have a 95’ XP. Needs all this love! Got a parts list?
I do, but it's too long to put in the comments. Shoot me a DM if you want the full list.
Lake Champlain, great choice 👍
You in VT as well?
This series was awesome. Just binge watched the whole thing. Fuck I need a life.
Your life sounds pretty great to me, wish I could watch this entire series without knowing everything that's going to happen.
😎 awesome. Enjoy!
Thanks!
Have you ever considered making a cost breakdown for this project? thinking of doing something similar myself and that would be super helpful. Great series
It would take me a while to dig through all the receipts, but I know the total cost for everything I did was a little over $2k.
@@reed.k.h thats not bad for how it came out, I don't know how you don't have more subscribers. Btw, what's that dirtbike in the background?
@@chrispolge8008 That's my roommate's WR250. It's currently in pieces in the basement.
Amazing work!
You too, probably!
Now I gotta try to convince my dad to buy me an 2000 model sea doo gti 720
Awesome video series. I recognize some of the locations (when you were out on the ski, not in your house or back yard), but where is that launch ramp?
It's on the Lamoille River in Milton
@@reed.k.h Nice! Maybe I'll see that beast out on the water some day. I take my '97 Seadoo up to the sandbar area from Mallets bay pretty often.
"...then he lives, laughs and lubes" 😄😄😄 goddammit
You're welcome
Video 2 was only about an hr ago, not 6 months. 😂 I just bought the exact same seadoo and I am excited to start working on it(said a happy man never lol). How much did you spend on rebuilding it?
The total cost came to about $2200, including the initial $400 for the jet ski.
Might have already done this but Can you list the products you used to restore/ paint/ the fiberglass, seats,...of the ski. Getting ready for my winter project, 96 GTX 712 in similar condition.
Thanks & Peace
I used rubbing and polishing compounds on the hull to remove stains from the gel coat. I didn't do any painting of the hull. The seat cover is a custom vinyl one I found on eBay.
I have never laughed so hard in my life! Or learned so much.
Was wondering what the total cost came to?
Looks awesome! You should buy another one.
Everyone keeps saying I should buy another one... total cost came to about $2,100
@@reed.k.h You should rebuild a Wave Raider next. They are absolutely insane machines!
Niiiice
Congrtulations you make a magnificent work with it i habe one same seadoo .where you find the replacement parts . Iam fron México
Bay Area Powersports and Watercraft Superstore are good sources, I also got a lot of parts on eBay. Just Google around a bit, there are a ton of sources.
I did a very similar graphic scheme with purple black an electric chrome you and another guy I watched rebuild ski’s inspired me.
Nice, I like it way better than the factory graphics.

Ah good idea, thanks
@@reed.k.h 👍
I’m a little sad this is over 😅
Samesies
Great work. Final cost without labor?
Somewhere around $2,100
Hi I’m curious of what parts you used can you possibly give links?
Any parts in particular?
Hey man, did you align the jet pump and the engine?
Just by eye. I snugged the engine mount bolts and cranked the engine to check for any vibration in the driveshaft, and it looked pretty damn aligned without having to use any shims. I know, not recommended, but you gotta take at least a few shortcuts here and there, y'know?
@@reed.k.h o yea, it took me until my second seadoo to pick up the tool. I did it by eye a bunch of times too.on my xp
@@kyletrump8025 Good to know I’m not the only one...
@@reed.k.h o trust me, there are PLENTY of ppl who do it without the tool.
How did you prime the fuel lines? I’m having the same issue !!
There's a fuel "pump" in the carburetors (just a diaphragm) that should prime the fuel lines if you crank the engine for 30 seconds or so. All I had to do was crank the engine a few times. If it doesn't auto-prime, it probably means there's an air leak somewhere in your fuel system.
Hey man, I am no mechanic at all and don’t even know the terminology when it comes to the parts. But watching your videos makes me want to rebuild my jetski, I’m pretty handy, you think I can do it? Also would you be open to giving me advice ?
Hell yeah man! Take tons of photos and read lots of forums. It's basically just a big 3D puzzle.
Did your bailers work or did you have to use your bilge pump at all?
Bailers seem to work, I only have a tiny bit of water in the hull after every ride.
I was really craving this comedy, but my 4 year old son was there with me and I still chose to go in anyway, knowing what was coming.
...So anyways, my 4yo son knows the word fuck now.
He had to learn it at some point, and what better place than an internet stranger?
