  • While the Sega Dreamcast was short lived, it still enjoys a massive following of dedicated fans and people that still regularly game on it. Luckily many developers realized this and also share that same passion for our favorite Sega console and have been creating excellent game after excellent game for the Dreamcast years after it was discontinued. One of the finest examples of the games released in recent times for the Dreamcast was 2013's Sturmwind developed by Duranik.
Join me as I take an in depth look at Sturmwind and show you why this game is one of the best games, SHMUP or otherwise, to immerge from the vibrant Dreamcast homebrew scene. Also, if you're interested in Sturmwind EX on various modern platforms this review should still give you a good idea whether Sturmwind is up your ally or not.

THe german shump scene seems to be a very vibrant one I was introduced to by Shin'en's Nanostray 2 which was amazing.

This game is also available on Xbox one. With an EX at the end. I enjoy it even though there is an issue of telling foreground and background apart

Yup. Love it. Only wish they'd re-add the intro and fix the music cut-offs when you die or complete a level.

Would DCHDMI make this look even better than it already does?

Great intro! Your cadence makes it sound like you're not taking a breath between sentences and putting up just one long run on sentence. Maybe take a breath or pause briefly between each sentence. Great review on the content otherwise!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm working on that; I write scripts to make sure I cover everything thoroughly and reading them out loud is something I'm not accustomed to. It throws off my normal speaking and breathing rhythm, but I feel like I'm getting better at it slowly, but surely. Appreciate the constructive criticism.
