Dear Alastair, Thank you for creating awesome and informative videos on everything ewi and now aerophone. I play mostly Tenor, and a little soprano and I also splurged a couple years ago and bought the EWI 5000. As much as I love it, and of course you’re aware, it’s a whole other instrument and the learning curve extreme. Let’s face it, there will never be another Michael Brecker. So here’s the big question. Do you know if Roland will be creating additional models beyone the 10G to fix some of its short comings? And if so, are you aware of any of their possible release dates? $900 is an investment to only have to sell and upgrade to a new model. I watched Jay Metcalf’s video and he mentioned that: 1. It has issues with properly moving condensation through the bottom of the instrument which is why they’ve included the spit gaurd. 2. Some of the keys, like the Bb upper bis key and the F key at the top are to far apart. Does the 10 G have all the same bells and whistles that the 5 has? Bluetooth connectivity etc.
How does this work for someone that has no experience at all? Is there like feature or something to lock in a scale And tonic so if I don't know how to play it will keep me in key while making a track in my saw using VSTs? I guess what I'm asking if I brought this will I be able to freestyle on it and still sound good in key or do you have to have some knowledge of a woodwind instrument in order to use it?
I was impressed by that lovely Flugalhorn bit which Alistair played around 49:00. Is that a Patchman sound? He called it a SWAM engine sound, but I'm not an expert in these things.
The SWAM instruments are soft synth virtual instruments that run on your computer and are controlled by a wind controller of breath controller. Patchman Music is an authorized dealer for the SWAM instruments and I can get you or anyone else an INCREDIBLE price on these! Just email me at matt@patchmanmusic.com for the details. The website is here: www.patchmanmusic.com/all_audiomodeling.html
Anyone interested in some special sounds that have been specifically designed to respond to your breath, here is a list... www.patchmanmusic.com/WindControllerBanks.html

Good video. My question : what improvements are there on the ae10 with the new 3.12 version update?
