The 🕷️🕸️🕷️🕸️ Mafia is watching you...😎 I have an adjustable angle carbide sharpener I use on my machete and it's terrifying to see the ribbons of steel curl off.
@@Jimislash These types of sharpeners definitely work in a pinch. There's one built-in on a tool on my keys that's sharpened more than one cheepo knife at a Airbnb.
I not that great with the old sharpening stone , and I not willing to spend $50 on some pro sharpening system , I like pull through sharpeners just fine , you can usually feel when it get sharp , the blade will kinda just glide through without any resistance, then it’s done
I’ve found the “fine”pull through sharpeners on pretty much all pull throughs do that as well so I never use the fine side. The fine side are usually ceramic rods or triangles so hypothetically they should be able to realign a feathered edge but I can never tell a difference from using them.
The entire reason I bought this one was the aluminum frame, it sits and holds in the vise really well...then fingers are never close to the blade...and you get more even pressure and repeatable strokes.
Ethereal hands! Hands of a god! Seriously be proud of your hands! We have man hands, it just means we have lived life and enjoyed every bit of it. Plus now I have to order a dual edge pocket sharpener.
Hi Mr Slash I Love You Because , Your The Devil In Disguise so don't get All Shook Up . With all their wonderful products I Can't Help Falling In Love with Cold Steel but when it comes to these types of sharpeners their are a lot of Suspicious Minds. The Wonder of You , using the bust to dull your knife , Don't Be Cruel but That's All Right , next time try My Way to avoid any Trouble . Well I have rambled enough next time there will be A Little Less Conversation but Don't Cry Daddy , I'll Remember You with these great videos Your Always on My Mind and You Gave Me A Mountain of info to think about , well I should go It's Now or Never , . Thanks
I could see this being a decent option for a lower carbide/high toughness steel like 4116, even better if they are ceramic rods inside that device. DMT has a little credit card sized diamond plate that is another option. Lesser knife 😂 I would say to watch out for Spyderco fanboys-but they probably need the warning that CS guys aren’t to be trifled with
I love those sharpeners for the kitchen.
Seems like a decent tool to throw in your bag for outdoor stuff like you mentioned. Not bad!
I guess in a pinch I would use it. It's like u said maybe a fishing box on a cheap knife but I would probably use my belt before that as a strop
I have a gerber sharpener like this but it uses ceramic rods... not as harsh as the carbide type shown here.
ive used similar sharpeners exactly like you mentioned, on camp knives i know arent gonna be given TLC anyways
OMG, when you showed that Spyderco... LMAO! You are right. When you're in a pinch, it looks like it will put a working edge back on the blade.
😂
It's worth a try, maybe a HOBO BOB test would be helpful 🤣😅😂
Bob's getting a beating this week. He's resting up for it. :)
Even the king 🤴 made an appearance 😆 🤣 😂 😹 great little sharpener for vehicle kits. Always good idea to have multiple options. Thanks Mr Slash 👍
Wife: Where’s my Elvis statue?
Jimi: Oh, ummm…..
Lol, thankfully, she's not the Elvis fan. :)
I tried this and the stick...works fine for touch up. Ceramic for a quick touch up if the edge isn't rough 👍👍

Lol!
I didn't see ribbons of steel on this one. But I can see where that would be upsetting.

Should ase a black marker on the edges then run it through the sharpener till black mark is gone then add 10 more.

Oh, that makes sense.
The entire reason I bought this one was the aluminum frame, it sits and holds in the vise really well...then fingers are never close to the blade...and you get more even pressure and repeatable strokes.
Oh, smart idea.

You had me at “Spyderco”!
😂
Now we know- Don't mess with Porcelain Elvis!
Nice!
Good save your bacon tool. Might buy one for my tool box. Ngl I use the worksharp field sharpener to keeps my blades sharp. Works great. 👍
That's a good one. Work Sharp does good stuff.

😂 That was very well done! :) Fantastic!
Hmmmm a good pull through eh??
JIMI!!!!
🤘💪😀
If your knife is dull you'll never be able to open the package holding the sharpener!
Good point. It most definitely will need to be opened beforehand.
My good knives are all hiding in the back of the cupboard right now, 🤣🤣🗡️🔪,, maybe useful for SAK's,,??

I have the DMT in my wallet. :) Yeah, there was some Spyderco backlash in the group. :)
Please don’t use this.. get a small diamond stone or ceramic. Anything but a pull through
Nice of Elvis to help. Emergency use only lol
He's quite helpful. :)
