☞ About the location
Lençóis Maranhenses National Park is a graceful composition of shapes of land and water, located in the "majestic and sensual world of Northern Brazil" - as RY X musingly expresses it. The 155 thousand hectares is unique for its white sand dunes and topaz lagoons that the wind reshapes endlessly.
☞ About RY X - Lençóis (Love Me)
RY X initially composed Lençóis (Love Me) for his live performance at the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park for Cercle. Writing the song, he "wanted to feel like it belonged to both (his) heart, and the waters and hills of this place:" "Creating and producing the song took on a life of its own spurred on by the images in my mind of these shapes of land and water". In his interview for Cercle, he portrayed the nature around him as "feminime". Lençóis (Love Me) became both "a cry of the heart to be understood deeply, especially to be taken in and held by the feminine unconditionally", and "a lament out to those lands in that same way too".

Tive o privilégio de participar desde a montagem do cenário até a realização desse Gigantesco Evento que aconteceu nos Lençóis Maranhenses, tendo como Porta de Entrada a cidade de Santo Amaro - Estado do Maranhão - Brasil.

I never knew Brazil had a white sand dessert looking region with water lakes throughout. Wow. It's beautiful and this performance is soothing.

Im from Maranhao ( the state) Sao Luis ( the capital ) on the northeast Brazil, This park is a 2 and a half hours ride by car... i used to go there w friends for a weekend getaway and bonfires, dancing and moon festivities when i used to live in Brazil... it totaly amazes me to see this hidden gem being so well presented to the world!!! I've never seen land like that which looks like desert filled with water, so I googled the location and found that the wiki describes the place as "coastal dune feilds" and fills with interconnected rainwater lagoons between January and June, that can cover around 41% of the area of the park. The sand comes from the interior of the continent and brought there by rivers, and distributed by wind.
Btw I've added this set to my favorites, it's ethereal! 🌟
Vasativ the Wiki description is spot on. Another thing that you can't know just by watching videos is how gigantic the park is with these lagoons, it's a huge area.

I had the honor and privilege to see RY X in Montreal in September of 2022, it is hands down the most powerful performance I have ever experienced. I am still haunted(in the most beautiful way) by his artistry. 💜✨ This video by le cercle brings me back to that night in September and brings back all the feelings I had during that night. What a surreal location. I don't know if they decided to just take one very minimal direct path in the sand to the staging area for aesthetic reasons or because it was the best path but I noticed that immediately from the drone shots and it worked beautifully for the visuals.
The interview just reinforced how much I like RY X's music. I was trying to pinpoint what it was about his music that I love and then he said everything I thought to describe it. There's a beautifully intimate nature to his music.
Plus when they brought up him working with Ólafur Arnalds, that's exactly how I discovered his music. I hope they'll work together again.
I’m huge fan of the artist since the „howling”. Every single time when I listening to his music I feel that Im getting something special and unique. A pleasure to experience this with cercle :)

Finally! A Cerclé concert of FKJ caliber (salt flats concert). All the "Mmm sst, mmm sst, mmm sst, mmm sst, mmm sst" was getting beyond old and boring. Let's go to gorgeous places and just stand like soldiers/robots and pump our hands in the air....and nod. Brilliant! THIS concert is exquisite.
