    I want to have some more masculine features, but I’m also afraid of growing facial hair, not being able to hit those high notes anymore (because that was a pride of mine back when I was in choir) even though having a deeper voice would be pretty cool, and getting a higher sex drive (I wonder if going on even low-dose T will change the fact that I’m on the ace spectrum, or if it will only just make me want to masturbate more, idk). The only things I really want are a flat chest, broad shoulders, a more defined jawline, and a voice that can go lower when I want it to, which I suppose could be done without the help of T (like top surgery, exercise, and voice training).

      I’m Non-Binary afab I have I guess much testosterone for a biological female like more than a usual biological female but not that much as a biological male that’s why I have much hair on my Body which I’m proud of . My voice was pretty high but I kinda trained my voice on my one I can speak now a bit deeper than before. And i would get top surgery but I wouldn’t take testosterone.

      @@broodjebakpao1994 100% agree with this. I'm AFAB and my job for a couple years had basically been to do cardio and weight lifting for up to 10 hours a day, and even though I definitely got in shape and lost some extra fat, my body still looked as feminine as it ever had. I'm planning on starting T (and hopefully finasteride) next month, so we'll see what (if anything) changes....

      I know it’s been 5 years, but like the one person said T and a DHT blocker will prevent genital growth. You can do a pretty low dose of finasseries and still get most of the other changes (though varies by genetics which is why I won’t say all).

    Being nonbinary and interested in low dose T got really confusing but but video was so helpful! I do have one question. What sort of process do I need to go through to get low dose T covered/ accepted by doctors?
    I've head about people going to therapists first and getting diagnosed with gender dysphoria, which gives them an 'ok' for T, but I'm afraid they'll think I'm not 'trans enough' to take it. I'm just really just really uncertain about what steps I should be takings of get T. Thanks so much!

    • @xbduf4gb
      @xbduf4gb 5 лет назад

      There isn’t a magic dose that is a low dose. The goal of testosterone therapy in FTM trans people is to achieve an adult male blood serum level. Taking a “low dose” is experimental. It is trial and error as to the physical effects on a low dose. There is also a risk of osteoporosis because testosterone suppresses oestrogen which is fine at a full dose because testosterone is better for bones. But a low dose could result in not enough testosterone or oestrogen to build and maintain bone structure.

      Your singing voice will be lower. But if you are only on low dose T your voice may not fully break. If it is stuck at the breaking stage it sometimes comes out squeaky and unpredictable. It’s a risk for a singer and you may not make the higher notes you did before.

Im kind of doing it without my parents knowing (i know that i will have to tell them eventually) and we in august we are going on holidays by a airplane. I'm kind of worried that the security might take out the gel and start asking and i really dont want my parents to find out just yet, especially not in a situation like that. the clitoris and penis are both phalluses and are made of the same tissue. testosterone makes your clitoris enlarge in the same way a penis would during puberty, and get erect (though it wont protrude due to ligaments that hold it in place). varies on the person but it can grow to be between 1 and 5 centimeters. most trans guys and people who take T appreciate this effect.

      +Ledrial the chest doesn't change much at all, but yeah, on T you can only use non-hormonal birth control such as the copper IUD or the cap, the hormonal kind won't be as effective

    Say you do a low dose for several years, once you stop, will your body stay the same or go back to how it looked pre-t?

      Meghan Hirsh there are permanent changes , still i havent heard of anyone that stopped T and go back "completly " the way they were before

      You don’t get to recapture how you were before. The voice may remain lower than it was originally, if you had facial hair on T some of that might stay, body hair will get more sparse then disappear depending on how hairy you are genetically. clitoral size reverses, fat distribution reverses but you will be left with extra fat. muscle growth may not reverse, you can be left with masculine shoulders and arms. Some people say that they couldn't recapture the androgynous look in their face.
