- Here is a look at our trip to test and tune on our first wooden track. We were invited to check out a beautiful wooden track near Oxford, OH owned by Butch Dunaway. It was a fantastic day full of fast laps, some big crashes and we learned a great deal about the differences in wood tracks vs. plastic tracks. Welcome to a day in the life of a slot car geek...

Great looking track, nice flow to drive! And yes, wooden tracks are completly different when it comes to the setup of a car!!!!!
I am learning that. Today was a great test of those skills!
@@twolinesslotcars gears and weight distribution on the chassis make a huge difference to the performance
Wow,awesome place, and that track looks awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Wow nice dedicated track, finally a face to go with your brother 👍 hey Dusty 👋 looked like a great day .
We had an awesome day! Got about 1000 laps in with a bunch of cars.. too much fun!
Yeah sorry to ruin all that. Lol. That track was an absolute blast. And yes, it was a great day of slot car racing and catching up with buddies and meeting new ones.
All around fantastic day. The track was intimidating at first but we settled in pretty quick. Great time trying to figure out a different layout and just all around different style of driving on a wood track. Really enjoyed spending time catching up with the guys and meeting new friends. Butch did an amazing job building this track
Yes, 100%!
Great stuff! If I'm not mistaken, this may be the build I saw take shape on an HRW thread. What a beautiful result. Commercial setup meets home racing! Looks like a blast fellas!
It was a fantastic track and Butch is a great host!
That is the track that's documented on HRW. It's an amazing track too.
Very cool to be invited to joint like that. Amazing almost sterile looking, in a good way. So much envy it's almost a sin Lol. Thanks for sharing this footage. Otherwise who knew.
Good day my friend.. very good day
Man it was a great time. And yes, and an amazing track!
lovely track !...smooth silent and fast cars...love that Malboro livery though Ive never owned nor run a RevoSlot car yet
It is a fantastic track! You can't go wrong with the Revoslots.. fun cars, easy to tune and you can really throw them around the track.
Concerts, Friends, and Slot Cars Living the good life ♥
Lego Mike.. as the kids say.. living my best life 😂.
Beer, forgot to mention Grolsch beer.
Marty ...that track is awesome 👌 i love the elevation to the straight . If i had an almost perfect track this would be it , looked like a great day out for you guys and a healthy McDonald's too 🤭😁
Harry, this track is pretty amazing! So much fun to race on!
G'day Marty very nice wooden track, must be beautiful to drive on , we had swap meet here in Melbourne, pick up couple great bargains
Rhys! I saw that you had a swap meet!! Congrats!!
Super awesome track and video! Thank you!
You are welcome Charlie.. was a fun day!
Sat May 6 I was about 80 miles west of my home. I was at one of my friends ranch putting together firework shoot racks. Only 419 remain. UGH. lol Wooden tracks always look their best in person! Sweet.
The Mosler was fast!!!
Wow ! That track is gorgeous !
💯
Salvatore.. it was a dream to race on!
Breakfast of Champions !
I liked Jack Daniels too! But it's not just a Breakfast drink anymore.
😂
Great runnin with you guys,...this is my favorite spot on earth right now, butch is a great guy, always a good time...and such a stellar track and facility.
His track is incredible! Amazing facility!
wow-Marty Ford on the road- love it! Great job. ! So guess its about time to go get some prices on lumber- huh ?
Lol.. I need to find a garage to rent 😉
Great Footage!
Thanks Carey! Was a great time!
WOW! I did not think we had any large wooden tracks left in Ohio. I (we) could all use a slot car room that size. Was Dusty's new Porsche 911 GT1 the Revo Slot edition?
It is a fantastic track!
I’ve had that Revo for a little while but it is a great running car. Ran great on this track without any tuning change from our home track
@@DustyFord I have been looking at the #17 GT1 that has the black rear. 17 is an important number to me, that being my son's BD in March.
Our friend Darrell has that livery GT1
@@DustyFord I e only run the GT 1 ,Fly version... horrible performer regardless of my most diligent enhancements...is that one competitive with the other cars?...I'm wondering if the problem is that model or jus Fly is a Fly
Nice track! Long to allow some good speeds!
Very fast track!
That place looks awesome!
Jordan, it was a pretty cool setup.
That's one practical, easy clean wood track. Rural Ohio 'rocks' and you guys are putting it on the map :)
Darren.. it was fast and a lot of fun. Would love to see the hobby take off again here in Ohio!
I love the dark racing…
ANOTHER stellar video!! I love those wood tracks as well!!!
Thanks Big Jimmy! Great time on the wood track!
Glad you made it out to Butch’s! Hope you’re able to make it back for the May 20th race!
Budslots I am not sure if we can make it down for that.. would be a lot of fun!
We used too have one where I live Thay shut it down over 20 year's ago
Sad to see those track close for sure!
Yeah
Really get to stretch a cars legs on a track like that.....cool.
Yes.. really have to play with gearing..
@@twolinesslotcars no doubt. What was the sweet spot? P10 C26?.
@@swmarb5236 Butch tan some cars that were 12/32 that were fast and handled amazingly well… they were cars he built for the Michigan 24… we kicked the lights off and ran some night racing..awesome
Cowabunga!!!! What a beautiful layout! What an honor to race on that track! Thanks for the great footage!!! Do you know what program he uses for the track counter and timing?
He is using Lapmaster. It is a fantastic track! Thankful I had the opportunity to race on it.
Thank you for the reply, I have been watching your videos since you started into the hobby. You have a great layout and you make great video content. Thank you.
@@KenJencks thanks for the kind words! I appreciate being a part of this community.
