Oh man didn't do anything with firmware on my PSP for the last 15 years and recently tried to play Peacewalker and MH Portable 3rd only to see 80020148 error. Did an update using files attached to this video and now everything works.
Feb 2020. Link still works! Went from 5.0 m33-4 with no luck from any other site... most failed to mention you MUST format the memory stick. After watching this video, I was thinking, why should I format the memory stick? No other system makes you do that (I've hacked quite a few other consoles). Finally, I reluctantly formatted my memory stick, re-copied the update over, and it works perfectly now. So, ProTip: Format that memory stick first! now, I'm stuck unable to update because my battery is dead/puffed up. So I need to buy a new battery first before I can continue :(
Wish this was a bit more concise so I didn't have to sit through random 30 seconds to minutes of just stuff loading, but so far it seems like everything is working.

Just curious why people bother updating I would love to run N64 better and willing to update if that changed anyways looking forward to some feedback thank you.
That's what I had on my PSP about 30 minutes ago but by using the simple instructions here, I went from CFW 5.00 M33-3 to CFW 6.60. I remember making a Pandora battery and all that. I updated because all my emulators like NesterJ and Daedalus were saying "Unable to start game 800something" plus my network settings were all grayed out. Well I didn't get WiFi to work, but I did get ISOs working and hopefully NesterJ soon.
@@Cyko.. Did you see any improvement for N64 emulation? My NesterJ runs perfectly fine on M33-3 I want to avoid updating unless there is some significant change to emulation being better as I do not want to mess anything up.
@@damarlboromans I have not tried N64 yet, but I will! What version of NesterJ were you running to make it work on M33-3? Because I have another PSP on that version that I really don't want to update...

Que sea M33-6 o M33-4 (como era en mi caso) no afecta a la actualización (digamos que los números son pequeñas mejoras dentro del custom firmware M33). Lo importante es que sea M33
@@FreakRunner yep i'm still playing iso's using 6.60, that's working fine, is there any reason for me to go to 6.61 infinity or should I stick with where i'm at?
@@cunneyes Theres no practical differences between me-2.3 and infinity outside of some very minor customization options and some networking bug fixes to my knowledge. If all you care about is games, stick with this.

You should be all set, just make sure your UMD ISO MODE is set to Sony NP9660 and you should be able to play your UMD backups/Emulators.
