  • This week we join Alan Barnes on one of his favourite venues, the Lancaster Canal. Alan is fishing the Castle Basin stretch near Garstang for this episode where he is targeting springtime bream on the pole. The video includes plenty of action, tips and tactics to help you get the very best from your pole fishing.

A very concise and interesting video shot in beautiful countryside. Great tips From Alan and put together brilliantly by Chappy.

Great film lads, allot of the video's with Alan remind me of my youth growing up on the Leeds Liverpool canal around Blackburn, the local tackle dealer Geoff Done used to run regular matches in the town, I used to enjoy watching the anglers. I once watched Dave Roper on the feniscowles stretch during the national. Quality information Alan departs in all the film's, he's quite the linguist too.

Is this still a good area to fish? Where do you park when you fish it please? Is it down the dirt track to the farm?

      In what circumstances?

@@CadenceFishingUK well its an old Daiwa whip it's not a take apart its telescopic and 14ft in length and thinking of using it to fish a little local lake,, so does the lenght of line have to be the same lenght as the whip.

@@michaelhayes3721 what is usually suggested is for the line to be shorter, enough to compensate for the bend of the tip when landing a fish and unhooking it. A little bit of trial and error is needed at first.👍
