A very good video for those anglers wanting to catch quality fish in the winter. I have found loose feeding pinkies over the top of the chopped worm can sometimes drag a lot of fish in and often tip the worm with a pinkie as a sight attraction. The great thing about this sort of fishing is that you don’t need to wave 13 mtrs of pole around, 6 or 7 mtrs is often enough. My only criticism would be if you shipped back across the towpath on my canal, the Grand Union, your pole would be smashed in five minutes because the runners and cyclists tear down the path without looking! I always ship to the side for this reason. Great video Matrix. Regards Bill

Great tip with the floatstop instead of a bead behind the crows foot 👍🏻

i used to fish canals regular but since a long build up of barge traffic it become annoying and i would have to bait my swim more often than usual to pull fish back, now i just fish lakes and rivers less bother and saves the pocket a bit on bait, great video how ever 🎣👍😀

I usually fish canal with my 12ft feeder rod cuz the tip is extremely sensitive and I find works well I use a small maggot feeder with maggots on the hill all red as that is what I always catch on I like catching perch and roach which I find I get more fish on red maggot I fish the kidlington canal stretch which is being dredged n fish being moved about which it's good they r cleanin it out and stuff it'd b interestin 2 find out what they get out there cuz me n my mates have never had a carp out of it we have used everything from maggot 2 meat 2 corn even tryin a small boilie years ago my gramp told me they used 2 catch carp out n all sorts but now it's only really perch n roach n the odd bream but we have never caught a small bream out they have always been decent size I'd say bout 80% of the perch we have caught have been round the 1lb - 2lb mark n roach normally between 0.5lb - 1lb so we tend 2 get decent fish out so hopefully when dredgin and fish movement it'll sort of vary what we catch and where cuz directly behind my mates house we always catch I fished there 1 day n had 4 perch out at round 2lb -3lb

Can agree with you mate, I use small maggot feeder on my 10ft feeder and it's deadly no matter the time of the year. Some of my biggest perch have been on maggot feeder with worm hookbait. Canal fish sure love their crawlies lol

Doesn't a lot of the casters float when chopping them with the worms?
