Zikr is done at the time of waswasa to overcome it.....like anti biotic meaning doing it incomplete for just few days will make the bad thoughts worse. For 21 days minimum practice reciting tasbeeh whenever u get a dirty thought n in sha Allah the thoughts will weaken.

Mecca is behind his right shoulder and Medina is in front of his left knee.On his right are four pivots (aqtab) who are Malikites, adherents of the school of jurisprudence of the imam Malik b. Anas - God be pleased with him! Three pivots are on his left each one an adherent of the (other) three schools of jurisprudence. Then in front of them is the Wakil who’s called the Qadi of the Diwan. At this time he too is a Malikite from the Banu Khalid who live in the region of Basra. His name is Sayyidi Muhammad b. ‘Abd al-Karim al-Basrawi. The Support speaks to the Wakil, and the latter is called the Wakil (deputy) because he speaks on behalf of everyone who’s in the Diwan’
SUFI HIERARCHY-IT SEEMS ALLAH HAS (RE)TIRED (naouz billah). A hierarchy of so-called Muslim saints has become a prominent feature in Sufi circles and among the masses who blindly follow them. In ascending order of merit they are: the Akhyaar (chosen) who number 300; the Abdaal (substitutes) numbering 40; the 7 Abraar (pious); the 4 Awtaad (pegs); the 3 Nuqabaa (watchmen), the Qutb (pole) who is considered the greatest saint of his time, and at the top of the list is the Ghawth (Succor), the greatest of Saints, who is believed, in some circles, to be capable of taking on his shoulders a portion of the sins of the believers. According to the belief of "mystics", the saints of the top three classes are present invisibly in Makkah at the hours of prayer. When the Ghawth dies, the Qutb replaces him and there is a moving up all through the series, the purest soul of each class rising to the next degree. This body of mythology has been borrowed from Christianity.

Some of us may have read books written by sufis, like Fazael e Amal, Ihya ul uloom, Karamat e awliya, Mercy Ocean, kashf ul mahjoob, etc. How many of you understood or tried to decipher their writings. I heard the Shaykh say - God be pleased with him: ‘The Diwan is in the cave of Hira which is where the Prophet (saw) undertook pious devotions - God’s blessings and peace be upon him: ‘The support (al-ghawth) sits outside the cave. Mecca is behind his right shoulder and Medina is in front of his left knee.On his right are four pivots (aqtab) who are Malikites, adherents of the school of jurisprudence of the imam Malik b. Anas - God be pleased with him! Three pivots are on his left each one an adherent of the (other) three schools of jurisprudence. Then in front of them is the Wakil who’s called the Qadi of the Diwan. At this time he too is a Malikite from the Banu Khalid who live in the region of Basra. His name is Sayyidi Muhammad b. ‘Abd al-Karim al-Basrawi. The Support speaks to the Wakil, and the latter is called the Wakil (deputy) because he speaks on behalf of everyone who’s in the Diwan’

SUFI HIERARCHY-IT SEEMS ALLAH HAS (RE)TIRED (naouz billah).
A hierarchy of so-called Muslim saints has become a prominent feature in Sufi circles and among the masses who blindly follow them. In ascending order of merit they are: the Akhyaar (chosen) who number 300; the Abdaal (substitutes) numbering 40; the 7 Abraar (pious); the 4 Awtaad (pegs); the 3 Nuqabaa (watchmen), the Qutb (pole) who is considered the greatest saint of his time, and at the top of the list is the Ghawth (Succor), the greatest of Saints, who is believed, in some circles, to be capable of taking on his shoulders a portion of the sins of the believers. According to the belief of "mystics", the saints of the top three classes are present invisibly in Makkah at the hours of prayer. When the Ghawth dies, the Qutb replaces him and there is a moving up all through the series, the purest soul of each class rising to the next degree. This body of mythology has been borrowed from Christianity.

Bareilawi said, 'The saints give life to the dead, heal up the born blind and the leper, and cover the whole earth by a single pace' [Al Amm wal ulal p 24] 'No period of time is free from a saint who provides aid, and the heaven and earth stand though him alone' [Ibid p 92] 'The divines (i.e. the saints) have the power to change the divine decree which is suspended' [Bahari Shariat, Vol I, p 6]
Another Bareilawi says, 'The disposing power of the saints increases after their death' [Al Fatawa al Naimiya, p 249]
'The sick used to seek healing from Jesus, but Ahmad Rida gives life to the dead' [Ayyub Ridwi, Madaih Ala Hadrat p4-5]
