I am worried because usb ports on laptops in the past were not able to safely handle high internet speeds, they would eventually burn out from overheating. The heat would end up burning the connection to the motherboard. Now many new laptops don't have ethernet ports, so either use usb 3.0 or wifi, I am hoping that they thought this through and improved the ports to handle data.
Never had usb ports burning up in the past, but then again, never did I use them daily for long periods of time. With modern laptops I'm sure they took this into consideration when they removed the dedicated ports.

Hello. I'm not sure what you are trying to do. The router needs to have internet access. If a modem is required or not depends on your internet provider's connection type.
You need to connect a CISCO router with only an Ethernet port to your customer’s computer. The computer does not have a port to connect an Ethernet cable. What connection is most likely the best alternative?
Regarding why you can only get < 100 Mbps with wired connection BUT > 100 Mbps (download), I suspect that your cable is CAT 5, which can support up to 100 Mbps max. Try with CAT 6 cable and it may work. I don't think it's your laptop.

Sir 🙏 Dell latitude E5400 laptop won't turn ON, neither LED light blinking, nor charging, I tried to remove static charge by holding power key for a minute, but still not able to turn ON!
You must make sure your charger is working. If it's working, then you need to open up the laptop and make sure power is goin into it and your power plug is not damaged. If all is ok until here you can try to check the fuse. If even that is ok, your motherboard might be bad. Before doing all of this, try to power on the laptop without a battery connected.

you speed is slow bcz of your cable buy a gigabit cable,in my case with the same adapter as yours i have 650mps download and 800mps upload speed and it doesn't matter that much if it's plugged in the left or right side of your laptop ....on wifi i had 50mps that adapter is worth every cent

Could be because of cable, but not sure. It matters if it's left or right side of laptop, on old laptops that have a mixture of USB 2.0 and USB 3.0
