    Your videos are great. Appreciate no hard rock loud music in the background like so many other videos. Much rather hear your voice or background engine noises than the usual loud music played on so many jeep videos. I like the rear entry way versus the side entry way. I wonder why so many Tent set up’s access from the side. Anyway great job. Keep up the good work!

    Jason, great video as usual! I enjoy your enthusiasm in your videos and they are a joy to watch. As for the tent, it sounded like you were a bit out of breath with all that jumping up and down! If you want an even simpler and easier setup, it's always a good time to step up to a hardshell RTT! Looking forward to your next video!

    Our dog as a kid would climb ladders. He learned following us kids up and down the slide ;o)

    • @AutoEdits
      @AutoEdits  6 лет назад

      Wow, that's awesome... I've seen video of dogs doing that somewhere as well but this dog of mine is not having any part of that ladder!

    • @cazgerald9471
      @cazgerald9471 6 лет назад

      Well the only training method I know is buy some playground equipment and get a bunch of 6 - 12 year olds for the dog to run around with everyday. Will learn lots of things, some desired some not so much, but climbing ladders may be one of them.

  • @bradcastaneda
    @bradcastaneda 6 лет назад +3

    I had that same issue with my previous RTT. Just pull the pins and slide the lower part of the ladder out. Then drill a couple new holes in a slightly lower area. Should help quite a bit. Just don’t go too low because the integrity of the ladder might be compromised.
    You could also go on to Tepui’s site and buy one of their ladders. It’s by far a much better construction than that sliding style, and it’s design allows it to be used on higher lift Jeeps.

    • @AutoEdits
      @AutoEdits  6 лет назад

      Wow! Great tip, thanks so much! I did wonder about the very dainty pieces of metal the ladder mounts to.

      autoedit oh yeah, those should be fine. I’m a larger guy and they weren’t a problem. Oh, I will say watch out for the rungs. One time I found out one was loose because it rotated under my foot as I was getting in!

    • @AutoEdits

    I want to do this so bad, but I'd have to buy a roof rack for my soft top, and then the tent. I'm probably looking at $3000.
    In the mean time, I just throw a camp mattress in the back of the Jeep, and bring a few comforters. Not a problem. 👍

    • @Strikerage
      @Strikerage 6 лет назад +1

      I'm also jealous of all these trips you go on. My Jeep is built to climb, but mostly it sits in a parking stall.... Stupid career. Always gets in the way. 😎

    • @AutoEdits
      @AutoEdits  6 лет назад +2

      That's how I used to do it as well and it's not bad, but once you ad a fridge and more tools... unloading that stuff to sleep in the back every night is a complete pain. I think this rack retails for 600-800 and the tent at 1100 so yes kind of expensive but look for a used tent.

    old vid i know but just drill some more holes in the ladder to make it a bit longer. Also make sure the tongue and groove on the bottom are mated properly. the bottom of the mattress can get caught in there and rp like yours has. we put some thick plastic on ours to stop the material getting caught. Cheers From Oz.

    Jason, Does your jeep have rattles in it that you just can't find? I've talk with plenty of other jeep owners and they all say yes I have rattles it's just a jeep thing. I've fixed most of my rattles with WD40 on some plastic parts on the dash and keeping the windshield bolts tight. Maybe you could touch on that someday.

I'm leaning towards the iKamper as it's a much bigger bed and is protected by a hard shell and deploys by simply undoing just two straps. Oh and the iKamper is vastly more aerodynamic and far less wind noise!
