Once upon a time and I can remember still when British clutch workshops used to service clutches on the spot pretty much exactly like this. Indeed I believe there is local to me a place in Henstridge who do a while u wait relining service for brakes and clutches with the only thing different being a hydraulic press for the shock absorber springs and digging out the rivets with a high speed industrial pillar drill.
People often look down their noses at places like India but India especially wastes very little that cannot be repurposed, recycled, rebuilt and I am a big fan (and UK guru of Bajaj Vespa's/LMLs) of Indian stuff and even bought a brand new direct from LML's factory Xpress engine for my Vespa and its been brilliant. Also a big fan of HMT watches too.
This is pure exploitation of the poor and young, without any consideration for health and safety of this worker. How long has this person been breathing asbestos, does he know what are it’s long term consequences. He will probably die of asbestosis in his young age without any recourse to compensation for those he will leave behind. Absolute criminal to allow this to continue in it’s present state.
This is all correct, but you are stating the obvious. And what's your solution to this ? If you just start enforcing higher safety standards, the workshops like this one will just collapse because they obviously cannot afford better equipment. This probably comes down to low purchase power. So there is something that is stealing money from this country, be it unfair deals with foreign corporations that operate on its soil or corruption. This problem is complex and crying about how unfair and criminal this is, won't solve it.
Totally went over your head didn't it. This was showing a skill and dedication. Yes its not correct but this is how people live and accept a way of life and not sit there and moan on its issues. Life is what it is and made no better with comments like yours.
I'm sure this young worker doesn't live in a 2 story 2900 sq. ft. home and drives a BMW to work to rebuild clutches all day. Yes, from a westerner's perspective this is not good but he's probably doing better than some other third world counties. At least he has shoes.
Contrary to what some may think the work is acceptable for a backyard repair for personal use but not anything you would want to charge a customer for. I can only imagine what the pressure plate and flywheel surfaces look like.
Now that is reverse engineering on a whole new level...And using that chisel at 3:56 with no mishaps?, I must get me a pair of those open toed safety sandals

Not a single power tool was harmed in the making of this new clutch. These guys are amazing but I sure wish I knew their address so I could send them some safety goggles and some good mechanics gloves
BTW, that dust is asbestos. But this does explain where auto zone parts come from...no wonder. The clutch plate precision alignment process: beat it with a hammer. Lifetime Warrantee.
Here ut is 2921 and this guy is working on the ground, open toed flip flops, no eye protection, no gloves, no face mask (disc composition material) and he gets paid how much? I note some parts come in a plastic bag, so there is modern elements he experiences. 3rd world...no excuse!
Nice work . But not-amazing ! Until mid 80’ in any car part shop you can find “clutch disk repair set” ( mainly for older cars) . Set was no more than pair of new fristion pads and copper rivets. For car clutch , dimanting of central shock absorber was not neccessary , just cleaning and some “strech-out” - combination of WD40, break fluid , to remove rust and dirt , and than manual reactivation. This repair was cheap, but potentialy risky - once pads become thin, rivets make marks on flywheel and clutch plate . But , that was peruod when clutches are regularly inspected and fine tuned !
A work bench and seat - perhaps. Amazing how they can work in crouched position - and turn up for work the next day!!
*very interesting video) liked it. good luck to all people and health) like for the video* 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

A clutch for least 1000hp! :) Good work! Samaste!
It would be great if I could go to work everyday wearing pajamas and slides.

Very interesting complete clutch plate tear down and rebuild.
Skill full man - Well done
These people work very well, and you can tell they know what they are doing.
What I don't understand is why they work on the floor ...🇦🇷
They haven't discovered chairs and tables yet.
🇧🇷 I think it's incredible that you work in a crouch.
JP Lantra almost every video I watched of these artisans, they work in a crouch. If I did that I will be sick for a week.
that is very impressive great work my friend you are one very skilled guy
No ISO standards, no prcesision, no balancing, everything covered in dust... No way I would mount it in any of my vehicles.
ALLAH KAREEM KAM ME BARKAT DYne. AMEEN
This guy is very lucky to be so wealthy. Wish I was that rich.

I enjoyed this video. Well done. :)

To roll over those rivets easier (and more evenly) at 6:57, could you try using a drift or insert a spreader bar?

I remember taking brake shoes back to Lucus for them to do this. Now the dead ones go in the bin.
How about elevating the work area and not use a dirt floor?
Wonder what is in his lungs after doing this :( You need to get a mask mate, that dust ain't good for you
