The N64 is my favorite and a big part of that rests on the excellent 3D platformers (SM 64, Kazooie, Tooie, Rocket, Space Station). I see potential in games like this, Duck Dodgers and Starshot but each of them has pretty significant flaws, unfortunately. What could have been, with more time or if there were a different developer chosen as you mentioned.
PS: Glad you’re back, sir! I know it might be heresy to some but I’d love to see you cover Dreamcast games :) Just a thought.

The problem is that I got so many day one games, because I would trade in and back then my local game store gave insane trade in prices in a good way. Seriously if you had a game less than a month old and wanted a day one release you’d trade that game in and like £10 and it was a deal. Seeing as most games could be completed within a week or two with how much I was gaming back then it was a no brainer

This is one of the weirdest N64 games imo. It is crazy how they would make a game out of almost any movie or TV show back then. The BB2K movie was terrible but this game has basically zero to do with the movie. They could have changed a couple of the characters name and called it "Hollywood Hijinks" and it would have made just as much sense. There was also a Blues Brothers game for the SNES that was just as bad if not worse. I'd say worse since it was based on a great movie. The game had nothing at all to do with the movie. It was just a generic 2D platformer. I wouldn't be surprised if the company had some random 2D platformer and at the last minute swapped the characters and slapped the Blues Brothers name on it hoping the name alone would help sell it. A BB game on the SNES could have worked if it they made it into a story based RPG like Earthbound. Taking a popular franchise and turning into a generic game is one of the dumbest things from the earlier days of gaming. Home Improvement on SNES anyone? lol

I didn't really know about the existence of this game, though I've played Blue Brothers on the SNES which I rented on the former and long gone video cassette renting store Blockbuster back in the late 90s. and to these days, I still think that that game was an utterly waste of time. this version on the N64 does not seem any better at all. I rather spend the day playing Superman 64 or Rugrats: Scavenger Hunt than Blue Brothers. no offense upon intended, just saying you know!
