Are we all so desperate to relive our Outer Wilds journey that we're willing to watch every single one of these supercuts?
Yes, yes we are.
The only way to relive this amazing journey.
it's honestly an addiction at this point. I've been putting these videos on to fall asleep to and watch in the background for like 2 months now. help 😭
help me please
OMFG XD
Cannot believe how quickly he accidentally found the ATP, such a unique first playthrough.
He was looking at chat a lot though, and that little bit of backseating really ruined this run a bit IMO
@@dundeedideley1773 It wasn't backseating though? If you watch it back he just got extremely lucky, he got to the portal just as the sand was overhead and to escape it he thought to hide in the room with the portal, accidentally triggering it
This legend is singlehandedly keeping Outer Wilds alive
He actually is
i want it to stay alive. this game is a treasure
no, the people playing it are, this guy is helping though by making them into easy to watch videos, without them, he does not exist
These videos are wonderful but are not what keeps Outer Wilds alive. Those that have played the game will carry it's memories onward. Nothing is ever really gone completely. The future is always built on the past.
It's remarkable to me how hard it is to let go of this game that's all about moving on.
What did I learn from this play through, you can go to the probe tracking module with your ship! Thought this was a spacesuit only journey!
I am beyond shocked. I thought it was impossible?? Maybe it's because he's playing in an older version of the game (as seen in the southern observatory), but it's still surprising nonetheless. I was fully expecting him to fail
@@eggsforbacon no, that's how I did it as well on my first playthrough, and I played after all the patches
@@eggsforbaconalso, it's a newer patch because the number of probes launched is not millions but thousands so people can more easily see how many it launched before it matched EotU
@@evilgibson is /that/ what is happening? I don't like that change :P
@@evilgibson I think it's an older version. I just played the game for the first time within the past month on the latest and it told me 9 million something probes
"That ending made me emotional, it wasn't really sad, it wasn't really happy"
The universe is, and we are. Great play through and great edit! Thanks for all your work! 😁
Proving that puzzles can be solved by following clues, or through observation and experimentation, or through simple chance. What a fantastic playthrough!
10:30 him probably thinking the supernova death was the projection stone he activated lmao
HE IS THE FIRST PERSON IVE SEEN TO TAKE HIS ENTIRE SHIP INTO THE JELLYFISH TO GET BELOW THE CURRENT ??? I DIDNT EVEN KNOW YOU COULD DO THAT
im inclined to call that a bug that only existed on early versions of the game (since you cant anymore i think), the ship should be way too large to do that
13:30 Imagine being Riebeck in this situation XD
Friend! ::D
...Friend? D::
While it’s instantaneous to our perspective, time continues on until the supernova, so Riebeck did have to spend most of a loop with their dead friend.
“Hornfels! Come in! It’s the hatchling!”
“Ah, did you meet them? They did just take his first launch a few minutes ago.”
“HE FELL IN FRONT OF ME! They’re not moving, I…I think they’re dead!”
I'm so glad this game had a resurgence wit the DLC coming out. I would've completely missed it otherwise
I saw Soviet womble sitting over the black hole chilling with reibeck for 2 min and thought the game looked so cool I asked what game it was in chat and was flooded with responses that I should play before watching. So I did and immediately bought the dlc 3 days after I beat the base game when I found out it had one incredible devs incredible game
@@quinncovill9042haha I remember that happening in chat! Glad you got to experience it for yourself first :)
56:00 holy shit what are the odds of that happening
no seriously what the fuck? He just walked in there?
@@shingstar1 I mean, it's quite poetic if you really think about this. Just like the Orbital Probe Cannon firing millions of times to eventually find the eye, someone, someday, had to have this happen to them by sheer luck.
@@Slothman3that’s such a cool way to look at it!
man I wish I recorded my first playthrough of this game. Was truly a special experience
edit: bruh he found the ATP so early lol
I found it even earlier 😭 I had no idea what the fuck was going on
this dude is an accidental genius, he stumbled into completing BOTH of the hardest puzzles in the whole game, both of which give you sooo much of the important story details, props to his persistence and some sparks of luck😅
Bro STUMBLED into ash-twin core bruhhhhhhhhhh that took me so long
It's so interesting how the writings of the nomai in some part was different in the early versions of the game. It was so weird since the text are similar but also so different. Especially in solanum's shuttle.
You aren’t just talking about the age differences in their writing quality right? They actually changed the style of the writing through patches?
@@Ghostsoulless yea they have he was playing on patch 1.0.1 and in these are the difference I found. First the orbital probe cannon control module say 9 thousand instead of 9 million. Second in solanum's shuttle she sound more excited and talks about the other quantum shards. And third the writing in the white hole station sounds more playful.
@@Need_a_Creative_Name For me the biggest change was the southern observatory though. The original writing way more vague ("the path is on the equator") and the path was much harder to find (it is now just an alternate path to the hanging city). I think this was a great change, honestly
I was shocked the probe count was ~9,000, instead of ~9,000,000
6:16 "What is THAT? What the hell are THOSE?"
The game loop in a nutshell. Just a beautiful feeling of curiosity driving you onwards. God I love watching people play this game.
56:58
I mean... You can go anywhere as there are no barriers, so this can absolutely happen.
It's interesting that it was just... stumbled upon at the right moment.
it's like at the beginning when pairing with the statue, it didn't pick you because you were special or something you were just there at the right moment
He was at the right place and the right time.
Bro was NOT supposed to stumble into the ATP like that 😂
Thank you, Eelis.
13:00 imagining reibeck's reaction to you dying right in front of him lol
Ah shiet, here we go again
25:00 "Bro, how you gonna die at the dinner table? Like, what happened to these people?" They invented Tiktok
These supercuts are almost too short! Make them a little bit longer please
Agreed
13:32 Riebeck didn't even stop playing their banjo.
you can fit the whole ship into the jellyfish???
I cannot begin to say how thankful I am that you put this together. It really makes my day when I see one of these supercuts.
YOU CAN ENTER THE JELLYFISH WITH YOUR SHIP??? Oh my god. And I thought I had nothing more to learn about this game. Crazy how he figured it out just from context clues.
I heard that it isn’t possible now, only in the early days of this games release. Not 100% sure on that though, but yeah I definitely never tried it. In my experience, it just seemed like it was meant to fit only the player!
These outerwilds supercuts are amazing, thanks for your work!
56:10 What are the odds of ending up here by accident. I have seen a lot of lets plays of outer wilds but this is a first.
1:08:30 this is one of the best reveals of an angler i've seen. It's moments like these that make the game so special
Ty again for all you work for thos supercut they are incredible
Bugs me so bad that he never learned to just TURN HIS FLASHLIGHT OFF INSTEAD OF SWINGING HIS CAMERA 180° FOR EVERY QUANTUM PUZZLE.
Or that he refused to launch his scout at Ghost Matter in lieu of taking pictures as he fell into the stuff.
Still a great Supercut as always.
I had no idea Cohn played this. These supercuts are amazing.
All hail Eelis
Thank you for all these edited playtroughs. I love this game so much, I just can't stop watching other people experiencing it for the first time. It's like we are in a special club together with these people...
Eelis you the GOAT. Thanks for all these!
I always feel bad for folks streaming a blind playthrough when they try something for the first time (like using a projection stone) and some completely unrelated timed event occurs at the same time (like Sun a splode), so they draw the natural conclusion that their actions caused that to happen...and then some commenters whinge at them for that reasonable assumption.
that happened to me when i played, the sun blew up EXACTLY when i was teleporting from the white hole station. i thought if you messed it up somehow you just died lol
I love how he lost his scout by just randomly shooting it around the eye without the intent of actually throwing it inside the vortex
This was the first OW playthrough I ever watched! It's so nice to see the supercut here now ::D
The Riebeck signal on death at the beginning was amazing
Man, I'll never get tired of these... And it'll also be sad when there will be no more supercuts of people playing outer wilds left :(
Doing god's work. Keep it up
I never knew you could fit your whole ship in there.
Fantastic supercut. I'll be waiting for the DLC one.
Nothing can ever bring back the first time experience of playing this game, however watching the excitement as other people discovering it is as close as you can get.
Dude came far at his first loop holy hell
Wait, you can fit the ship inside the jelly fish legs? I tried it a few times and thought it didn't fit for sure
Right?
Pretty sure it's an earlier version of the game. The main evidence of this I noticed was the probe tracking module saying it fired over 9000 probes rather than over 9 million.
yeah the launch version of the game was like that. i remember that from my playthrough
@@littlesnowflakepunk855 Yeah, figured it had to be some real early build as the number of probe launch was also way different to what it shows nowadays
You are my favorite RUclips find in a long time ❤
i hope that one day you receive good karma from the world to extents never seen before, thanks for making these supercuts
25:58 and thanks to the modding community you can actually play in VR
going inside the jellyfish with the ship haha
56:10 oh COME ON !
Funny how there was a glitch in the probe tracking module and only shown the number of probes fired as being in the thousands, instead of millions.
Don't think that was a glitch. The game got slightly retconned in the very first patches.
Some other dialogue, like Solanums note in the shuttle is different too.
think this is the first outer wilds playthrough where someone didnt notice the big supernova event at the end of the loops
The only part of this that I dislike is his classification that it was a, "Walking Sim."
Dude just stumbled into the ATP lmao wow
Thank you for today’s offering to the dopamine gods
does this channel count as the campfire at the end of the universe?
thanks for another banger,
Grumpy Nerd Man!
Yay!
Thank you Eelis
Oh man. I never considered it, but he's right to immediately be like 'that's probably some nasty methane ocean or something'
it's kinda crazy we just assume (correctly, i think) that it's water
wow, just the day after i subscribe! you're fast!
yep, he did it especially for you, took him a day, it's crazy
@@NewsofPE so nice of him
I didnt know you could take the ship in into the jellies!?!
Hello there! Would you be interested in doing a supercut for Helloitskolo's playthrough of Outer Wilds? She has a whole playthrough of this game on RUclips, and is currently uploading episodes of echoes of the eye.
Interesting to know that early release had such a low probe count.
wish the quality was better but great vid nonetheless!
It’s 2 hours long…
It’s been about 30 mins since it got uploaded, u watching this in super speed or what?
@@Probs_a_cool_guy Nah man, the bitrate is just very low and I agree. I often find myself just watching the original video because the bitrate is much much better there.
It’s honestly a shame he found the ATP as fast as he did. I don’t think it ruins anything to do so it just kinda gives you all the answers so he doesn’t really have to explore any more if he wanted to if you could just complete the game idk feels weird really unique though
F me i was not prepared for sudden everquest leveling sound 1:03:05
What?! Lmaoo you can put your entire ship through the jellyfish?
Always a pain seeing the keyboard and mouse experience in dark bramble
Heh, just thought of the silliest most-missable bit the devs coulda squeezed into the ending, if everything in the eye is a reflection of your memories (as seems to be implied), if you've never successfully roasted a mallow, you shouldn't be able to here, as you have no memory of doing so to recall, as such any mallow you get near the fire should _immediately_ burn (consequently if you've never burned one you could leave it in forever and it will remain perfectly toasted). Not sure about if you've never roasted one at all, perhaps the option just doesn't work, or your mallow simply never roasts? 🤔
This would imply our protagonist has never roasted a marshmallow before the events ot the game! What kind of life is that? :P
Why were there so few probes launched? Mine was in the nine millions not nine thousands
So when you playingn the DLC?
48:42 why did quantum moon form a face??
Anyone know why it was probe 9354 instead of 9354000?
that's what i'm saying
it's a different version according to googöe
50:50 why is the number of probes launched glitched?
I believe sometime after this playthrough was recorded they increased that number in a patch to the much more dramatic and realistic number it is now.
@@rennixwusky8522 You're right. It was patched shortly after the release. Some people seemed to enjoy the idea that the Nomai went through all of the pain of the ATP but the Eye wasn't as hard to find as they thought, or they were lucky/unlucky with the probe.
How do I my own supercut lol? (I ask as a nobody twitch streamer with like 250 followers 😆)
