This is my very first comment on RUclips. I too left Trinidad very young, consequently I don’t know how to make my favorite childhood dishes. Now I’m learning thanks to you. I’m just loving it. Don’t stop.
I like your videos for the simple straightforward technique, clean, neat, efficient process of pre-planning, layout of ingredients and verbalization. One bit of advice with regard to draining fried food items, I always like using a wire rack with the paper towel or brown paper below the rack, the fried food item is less soggy and maintains a nice crunch. I've looked at three (3) of your videos so far, great job! Have a blessed day, I hope all is well with you and yours.
thank you and I do like the advice for the fried foods. I will try that the next time I make fried foods.Yes I do take the extra time to prep everything and to keep it neat as possible, thank you for watching.
I've lived and worked all over the the Caribbean and as such, I love picking up different techniques, spices...the process of doing things, I like and admire a clean, efficient kitchen, when I'm through, you couldn't tell whether I made a 5 or 16 course meal, appitizer or entrée, my wife is a boss, mother in law, mother, siblings and father too, I've learned a thing or two from them all, thank you, for adding to my skill set, grilling, barbequing and cooking, experimenting...I really enjoy, it's a good stress reliever too. I also love using my hands, I get them involved in most things from kneading to seasoning. Bon appetite😊 Ciao
Thank you so much for your recipes. I'm Puerto Rican, husband says I could never make buss up shut. Thanks to you. I've made it three times. His mother told me I did great. You are amazing. I married a Trini, but I am a proud PR. And respect to Trinidadian. One love🇵🇷🇹🇹
tipo boil the potato whole and peel them , you get more protein and a creamier paste when you cut the potatoes, you loose most of the flavor to the water
Your recipe is so easy to follow and it helps me with everything I want to make. Everything i want to make if I don’t see your video i won’t use anyone else’s. You’re the best.❤️

hi natasha I am a fan of yours. I am from Trinidad and I have learnt so much from you. Thank you for all your hard work. My 10 year old son and I followed this recipe and let me tell you it was delicious!!
i like your aloo pie video it is quite simple and easy to understand, i like how you did everything step by step; the colour is just perfect nice and light brown just how i like it and you taught me something new i used to add everthing to the mashed potato without sauteing first so thanks for enlightening me, on friday i will surely try those aloo pies for my grandson, he loves it a lot, thank you natasha.
Your videos are so easy to follow and your food looks amazing. I just made these exactly to your instructions. I fried about four and froze the remainder of the filled dough for later. They were absolutely delicious and so authentic. I definitely will be trying some of your other recipes.

@@TriniCookingwithNatasha U are most welcome. I was taught to cook at an early age. I love being in the kitchen. I tried alot of ur recipies and they all came out perfect. Did the aloo puri first time monday and we loved it. My grandparents and parents taught us to cook on fire sides, top and bottom fire and alot growing up in the country. We grew up hiking, fishing, hunting, camping and always having family gatherings. I love pepper in everything. God blessings to u and ur family
l tired this recipe yesterday and .... it was a hit! I had a challenge shaping the first two but after that, it was a breeze. Thanks so much for this recipe, Natasha and guess what ... I plan on making another batch for another group of people , next Saturday. Yah!,,
I just tried the recipe and it came out really good. For those of us who are not cooks it would be helpful if you gave an approximate idea of how much water goes into the dough. Also one scotch bonnet pepper is a lot for those who do not eat pepper so a tip to skip the pepper would be helpful also. Also how much time is the dough to 'rest' for? Anyway, it was pretty good. Thank you.
Hi Natasha, thanks so much for posting this and all your videos. I'm getting my ingredients together to make the aloo pie as well as the kurma. I can hardly wait!
