It's the emotional side of their music that really made me realize why I fell in love with Hollywood Undead.
This. I got into Hollywood Undead for their serious and emotional songs. The first song I heard was City and it got me hooked on them.
They are a band that defies music genres. They are truly unique in both sound a meaning.

Yeah, I never expected Hollywood Undead to do songs without rapping. It's a nice change though. Especially songs like "Take Me Home," "I'll Be There," and of course this one.

Haden Lasley Not really. This is the first one to do it with more than one song. In the past, "I Am" is the only one that way. But still, you have to admit the ones on DOTD are a lot better and even great songs.

This song is very beautiful. It's strange that I can't think of another band that would have pulled this off. HU just has such a unique dynamic with it being multiple people that take over verses and chorus's. Most bands that do that have maybe 2 people, and you usually can't tell the difference in their voices much. (Like Asking Alexandria, though, it's more like lead and backup...whereas HU everyone has the chance to lead here and there. Except Da Kurlzz nowadays...)
Also, it's not that unusual for hard bands to go soft, it's incredibly common. Examples: Dear God by Avenged Sevenfold, Sound of Silence by Disturbed, and Behind Blue Eyes by Limp Bizkit. I LOVE it when bands do this kind of thing. It's a joy to hear their voices used differently. :)

I know a lot of young people listen to these guys as well, so here's something for you. Don't listen to what people think about you. Don't give up on what you want to achieve, you'll get there eventually. Have patience and everything will work out fine.

And whatever you do, don't stop your meds because you feel better. You'll slide right back to where you were within a few weeks.

I absolutely love how HU is able to represent the badass, die hard, give no fucks-angry, dangerous and dark side of the broken people and then also come up with the beautiful, vulnerable, pure, emotional, and soft side. Thier songs are like a metaphor about broken people in itself and i love it.
