THEONLYCRUNCHYBUNS S.C.A.V.A is another beautiful example of this.
But yeah, they tend to swing between reckless partying, aggression, and reflection/meditation. I honestly feel a little sad for them because songs like this reveal a lot of emptiness in their lives. Still beautiful though.

Like how HU writes by heart, unlike most others. If they fucking feel like partying and chugging beer they'll make song 'bout it. But then there are those songs, filled with emotions, those are made when they are depressed about something... They simply write and sing by heart.

And then they put them in the albums where they flow very well, like in V, right after Ghost Beach plays Broken Record, which has the introduction play the last few second of Ghost Beach but as if it were on a broken record.
Honestly, I think they should've ended the album with We Own the Night.
Yeah, and even though this song makes me feel like crying, especially the part where he says "I just wrote a letter that will never be sent", I still love this song to bits! It just... It's like it resonates with me on a spiritual level and I fucking love it!

Fuck man... This has been my shit for a long time and I always related it to myself. I don't know why, but I just did. Now that is is 4 in the morning and I'm staring into these lyrics....I've finally realized it has nothing to do with myself, or an individual at all. This got me into deep thought about the world today, all the shit this world has endured, the people that take the lives of innocents, the acts of terrorism, sheer hatred, pain, suffering.... fuck.. But while all this is present it also sends a strong message to stick together and try, just try as best we can, to lead the best lives we can and better the world. I don't know if I'm alone here or not but this song... beautiful.

I feel like I can relate to Charlie a lot... I go out partying, get smashed with my friends, have fun and live life to the moment. But, I feel like Charlie does it for the reason I do... To hide what's inside, running from it. Yet no matter what, the depression hits you. It all catches up and that's how this song reflects on him.

Alright so this is my view... In J3T's first verse it mentions him not knowing where he came from, like he's putting himself in the shoes of an orphan looking for his possible family. In another part he mentions "Bury me in red, white, and a side of blue" which could mean he's put himself in the shoes of an ex-marine who lost his life in battle. When he talks about being a shadow and "I'm just a voice in a choir of saints" he could be taking about how no one pays attention. Like no one really knows or cares about anyone until they've found out that there died. Even then we're eventually forgotten right? I don't know, that's just what I think but I could be wrong.

Honestly feel these guys are the best band ever. They can rap sing make party songs or even make some really emotional songs. Not many bands can do that and still sound anywhere near as good as them

Charlie Scene, J3T and Danny are my favorites. I really love how Charlie Scene has changed since the Swan Songs days. He's a great rapper, but also a great singer, and when Deuce was the lead singer, Charlie never really sang, but now with Danny, he gets his chance as well and I'm happy for that. Rain, Bullet, I'll Be There and Gotta Let Go are some of my favorite HU songs.
I love it when HU go for mature tones instead of ‘mature’ songs.

HU is so weird with the lyrics. They can go from one super shallow song with lyrics like: "I can't stop saying dick dick dick and then cock hick a dickery dick a dick a dickary dock" to super fucking deep lyrics. Also Danny's high notes in this song are killer.
