It’s been wonderful to look forward to sharing an hour with you every evening over the last few weeks. I shall feel lost without your hilarious and incisive analysis. I started listening and became a Friend exactly a year ago and what a joy it’s been. Keep going!
Yes David, totally agree it was sad seeing an all time great not being able to make it a closer match. He did say he wasnt at the top level right now. I think he can though.
I for the first time have closely tracked and watched a grand slam and you three have been a huge part of it. Thank you for the two weeks of coverage! Looking forward to US Open 🎾💚
I must add my comments here too about how much I enjoyed this podcast every day. You must all have been very tired after quite long days on site but each program started with Catherine's ever enthusiastic intro and on you went from there. Loved the combination of humor and insightful commentary all given with such joy. You all always looked like you were having a very good time which makes it that much more enjoyable. As an American, I must also say how much I appreciated hearing proper diction and a smooth delivery of the English language. I listen to another podcast regularly (which shall not be named) by a former well known tour player and another well known tennis writer. While the content is also insightful, the tennis writer unfortunately cannot speak the language as well as he writes it. Scarcely does a sentence start without either a loud "AH" or "UM." I am guilty of this in my own speech I'm afraid. So to hear Catherine, David and Matt smoothly delivery content without that verbiage is just beautiful to hear. Then, the former tour player also makes many excellent comments based on his playing experience however he is prone to letting loose F-bombs which he has stated he is proud to do. Sort of an American thing I suppose but unnecessary in my opinion. Once again Catherine, David and Matt show that one can be equally as entertaining and descriptive without resorting to that kind of language. Thank you, thank you.. I'm a big fan and will continue to listen as each episode brings me much laughter and joy. Enjoy a break, you've earned it.
Haha very obvious you are referring to Andy Roddick's "Served" Podcast. I like Andy but i agree that a traditional tourney like Wimbledon was much better served by these Brits.
@@al1976-v7mThere’s another pod where the writer is excellent but i can hardly understand him, lots of ums and doesn’t enunciate very well. I think i’ll have to stop listening.
Thank you for the very enjoyable 2 weeks of Wimbledon coverage. This is my second year with you and I am already looking forward to the next. Thank you!
Thanks so much Catherine Matt and David for all your pods. You make our Wimbledon watch so much more enjoyable. We really all are appreciative . Thank you xx
I'm getting tired of hearing people say that Carlos has not been playing his best tennis. How do you define best tennis... straight sets and any win that requires more is not best? I contend that this is nonsense. The goal is to win and if 4 or 5 sets (GS only) is needed so be it. Carlos has managed to win 2 GS in a row without the "best tennis". I guess if straight sets defines best then we saw best tennis today. Even in a straight sets win Carlos was criticised for not converting 3 match points. How tedious.
Novak is cooked. The aura is gone. First, the body stops working like it used to, and then the younger players start winning. Maybe Novak has one more turn back the clock performance that coincides with some luck, but his days of being the top guy are over. This is all normal and how it should be, and it changes nothing about all the amazing things he's done in his career.
Is Alcaraz opening up a bit of a gap between himself and Sinner? He leads four slams to one now. I know Sinner is the current world number one but just more broadly speaking Alcaraz seems on a higher level and is getting more of the big wins. I’m interested to see what happens in the hard court season now.
dude. djoko playing like today would beat anyone but Alcaraz. the problem not was djoko bad. the problem was alcaraz too good. he is not finished at all, but carlos is just starting
Yet again just like last year I am worried for the future of men’s tennis. Alcaraz winning everything would be BORING and make the sport uninteresting. We need a Nadal to Alcaraz’s Federer, some would say we already have that in Sinner but I am not convinced.
Thank you for some honesty. We have been told the knee was fine-was it a serious injury or not? We were told he had a respectable draw and it was amazing he was in another final-by you all. Not so much. This performance by Novak was truly poor. Carlos was very sharp. I will be glad to see the hype machine toned down. The only player who has won 20+ majors against top competitors, while carrying constant injuries and missing years of majors, is Rafael Nadal.
@@alextrivunovic644 Okey dokey pal. We all have our favorites. I’m sure Rafa is a very happy champion. His achievements are historic. Nothing will change that, just like we will always honor the greats of the past, present and future. Time marches on.
Novak back on clay is not a good news. Why? because he can't move as good as it gets to win clay tournament. Nadal will have the shots, but will he have the movement?
Thank you Catherine, Matt and David for the last two and a half weeks of coverage. Looking forward to many more 💜💚
Just want to thank all three of you for your fantastic coverage over the past two weeks!
Wimbledon is great. Wimbledon with the Tennis Podcast is perfection 👌. Thank you guys.

Thank you, Tennis Podcast for another great coverage of a Grand Slam. Please come back soon!
Pods are always great but there’s something even more captivating being able to see you guys. Thanks for a great slam 👏

correct
My favourite moment was Holger Rune showing up at Andy Murray's farewell.
It was so "random"!
Are they mates? I know he’s friends w Novak… i thought it was funny too
@@JenMann-q3u Holger let Novak win in straight sets.
In turn Novak took Holger (quite randomly) along to one of his mates' farewell party!
Love the opening song
BTW
I believe in Holger Rune!
He plays awesome tennis...
(most of the time)
The results (& trophies) will follow!

Coming to NYC!!!
Hat off to Alfie Hewitt
Agree with the mixed doubles being on Sunday
The Ladies definitely outshone the Gentlemen this year! That was a poor final today!
I need Catherine's cap!
Wimbledon shop
After an Erasmus semester in Oslo i'm pretty sure Nikolai Budkov Kjær's last name is pronounced something like "Share"
Can imagine the extortionate prices of the Wimbledon shop !
1:14:00 flushing meadows!
1:17:20 nevermind Matt's on it haha
Who's the guy that says he know he's got the Wimbledon tie on but these guys have got some nice kit here?
The most amazing Wimbledon 2024 Statistic - The cheapest ticket price for the men’s final - $12,000 for the worst seat .
It's kind of ridiculous that the signs of decline for the Big 3 are when they get dominated in slam finals and semis.
Nadal could win the olympics, why not, even at 80% beating him on clay won't be easy!
dude. djoko playing like today would beat anyone but Alcaraz. the problem not was djoko bad. the problem was alcaraz too good. he is not finished at all, but carlos is just starting
Catherine and Matt wearing hideously ugly hats undermines the chatter!
the only thing that is in favor for Novak and Rafa in Olympics is that it is best of 3. that might be a factor. do I think it will be? not really.
No excuses for Chocovik. He was moving fine for all his other matches, even had a walkover…he simply was outplayed and couldn’t keep up!

What is the pinkish liquid David has had in his water bottle for these recordings? I have enjoyed the daily recaps immensely ❤

Well that was a very disappointing final
