Pokémon Renegade Platinum is a catch-em-all advanced difficulty romhack of Pokémon Platinum created by Drayano!
In a "Snaplocke" viewers vote for up to ten Pokémon to ban from my playthrough. The top 50% most-voted-for Pokémon are banned. See the full results here - docs.google.co...
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch one eligible encounter per unique encounter table (this is a slight change to the one encounter per route; e.g. Route 210 North & South were counted as two separate encounters); Species Clause!
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode
Additional Rules:
7. No set-up moves (e.g. Swords Dance, Calm Mind, Nasty Plot)
8. EVs turned off!

I love how everyone was so terrified of the almighty power of Peach that many people joined together to ban Luvdisc. And yes, I was one of those people.
Fun fact about Renegade Platinum Delibird, it can be a guaranteed encounter on Route 116 and with 110 Special Attack and 110 Speed for it’s base stats, as well as Technician Air Cutter and access to Aurora Beam, Delibird is capable of outspending and OHKO’ing 4 of Gardenia’s 6 Pokemon without taking a hit
I only know this because I did it myself the other day, it was a lot of fun! Renegade Platinum has so many nice changes to so many Pokemon, like Plusle’s fun support moveset with Encore, Wish and the Thunder Wave TM, or Sunflora being able to sweep almost all of Rorak single handedly. It’s a very nice hack to use Pokémon I’ve never tried before and see them shine!

What this demonstrates is that sometimes the most dangerous fights are not the "boss" fights, it’s the trickier than average Ace Trainers that you haven’t prepared for.

Nuzlocke Idea: One Pokemon from each generation only. This type of challenge could be played in any generation for varying difficulty (anywhere from 1 to 9 total encounters). Different encounter rules could be applied to adjust the difficulty as well. For instance, a forced order that makes you catch from Gen 1, then 2 then 3 etc. or reverse which would allow you to take a starter Pokemon and work backwards to Gen 1.
I think this challenge would be a great combination of difficulty through limiting total encounters, but also offer a variety of teams for each game and Pokemon types to build diverse rosters. Encounters could either be "semi-random" meaning you start the run and just see what happens, or encounter routing could be planned out before the run starts, allowing some control over the team you build. I think this would be a great challenge for generations 3 and on and would be fun to watch!

Wouldn't a losers only nuzlocke where he must recapture the first 'dead' pokemon of each type he lost on a previous type only run be better? Like, it would force him to pick, in most cases, those he sacrificed before or just lost by accident without as much care and try to win the game with them

It’s really cool to see how much the difficulty spikes when a lot of the best encounters, a lot of which are guranteed in this game, are excluded. Side note WA wrath is a monster and probably should’ve gotten snapped. Also that elite 4 was something else man

Taskmaster really had a +Crit -Atk Nature; watched all the highlights before this came up. This was thoroughly entertaining.

Seeing this live was really enjoyable! For your question at the end, I think a Snaplocke of Inclement Emerald could be really fun. Even more encounter variety would be lit.

It's funny to me that their biggest complaint about the game was "too much water". Like it's so random and out of nowhere you can't help but laugh a little
as funny as it sounds, it's actually a very valid complaint about both those games and the original Hoenn games. like, SO much of the game is just surfing around in various places that look the exact same. it's one of the biggest issues with the gen 3 games imo

In my inaugural hardcore nuzlocke of Shining Pearl, I had a Roserade named GreenGoblin. So what this means is that Green Goblin has killed Aunt May in FlygonHG canon

Anyway, I would like to once again suggest a Hardcore Nuzlocke of Pokemon Ultra Sun / Moon with only Pokemon that can learn the moves Moonlight / Morning Sun.
It would have to be done with eggs since some of these Pokemon aren't available in USUM in the wild.
Pokemon that can learn Morning Sun / Moonlight via Level-Up, Egg-Move, or Event in USUM: Espeon, Beautifly, Cherubi, Venonat, Growlithe, Ponyta, Togepi, Sunkern, Pidove, Clefairy, Oddish, Umbreon, Dustox, Volbeat, Illumise, Munna, Morelull, Exeggcute, Sableye, Noivern.
If you include Pokemon that can learn this move not in USUM but in another game that came out before it you also get: Solrock, Lunatone, Nidoran Male / Female, Sneasel, Butterfree, Weepinbell, Tangela, and Scyther.
I saw a comment from someone on the Vods channel that said "Taskmaster really has a -Attack, +Crit nature" and that comment has remained in my head until this moment.
Can we just stop to appreciate the strangly edited things hwhere flygon uses his actual voice, like in the beggining, its funny AF.

Just want to say; I recently started my FIRST EVER nuzlocke. I am playing on Soul Silver, which may not be the best game to start with.
