One of my favorite sermons of VB. I happen to be the prodigal but I’m grateful that I am, bc I can imagine how much harder it can be for the older one, and I feel compassion for them bc of that. Praise our Lord and all His blessings and abundant mercy.

He's Back! Your son's back! He was dead and now he's alive! He's back!...... Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you, 2 and you return to the Lord your God and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul, 3 that the Lord your God will BRING YOU BACK FROM CAPTIVITY, and have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you.
I am greatfull for the older brothers God is blessing me with.

Ecclessiology is one of the areas where the NT does provide insights.
Examples are Acts, Paul's letters, especially 1+2 Timothy and Titus.

I wonder what happens when you begin to consider that MANY accounts and prophecies in scripture are all telling the same story. For instance, take the prophesy in Ezekiel about the 2 sticks becoming 1 in His hand. One had the name of the older brother Judah and one had the name of the youngest Gentile son of Joseph, Ephraim. Now consider the story of Joseph, in which Judah and Joseph are restored at the end, and Joseph's Gentile sons are adopted (grafted) into the Father's House. Now incorporate the prodigal son parable. What do you get ...... A story of a Gentile younger brother who has sinned greatly with adulterers against His Father's Holy Laws and Kingdom..... Wakes up one day and realizes he's eating among unclean animals (pig eaters) and decides to repent and start being a servant to His Father in obedience to God's Laws....... As he begins walking in obedience (because he's in the process of returning) God restores him as a son and covers him in the protection of grace as he learns His Laws and blessings (puts on robes) and takes his WORD of salvation/Yeshua to others (shoes carrying the gospel) by teaching God's righteous judgements and authority (sinet ring).......
When he returns home to FEAST with his Father, the older brother (Jews/ Judah) gets upset that the younger brother (Ephraim/Gentiles) have been welcome in the House since they have wasted the Father's inheritance (Torah/Sabbaths/Feasts) for many years while living as a HARLOT Church with pagan practices. But the Father assures the older brother that it is a time for rejoicing because the younger brother has been DEAD IN SIN and DISOBEDIENCE to the Father, but now he has come home!!!! The brother however is already in the house! Because God divorced ISRAEL (the younger brother also known as Ephraim according to Ezekiel 2 stick prophecy), but God did not ever divorce the older brother (Judah/Jews). Once the Law requirement of the death of the divorced husband happened (Jesus on the cross), the wife that was divorced can remarry!!! Israel can be restored! And great will be the day of Jezreel!!!! You see... EVERY part of scripture unites to tell the whole story!
Cain will always try to DESTROY the brother DOING the Righteousness of God. The enemy will ALWAYS rejoice and glory in the Sin and Disobedience of man. Even trying to deceive Him to DISOBEY and glory in His Sinful IMAGE.
How do you separate the WORD of God (Jesus) from the WORD of God (Torah) when they are 1 and the same? Me and My Father are ONE!
Woah...this is a shock of the system. Was this Lucifer?

Dead inside? Because that is what works Righteousness does? The Law kills? What Law! God's Law? Or the Law that says if you break God's Commands you die? Is it the Law of sin and death (sin leads to death) that kills?..... Maybe you should read for yourself what scripture says about Gods Holy and perfect Law! ......Start in Deuteronomy 30 (book of WORDS).....then read Psalm 1... Then Read Psalm:19:7-11.... And if you have time read Psalm 119, it is the longest song written by a man after God's own heart! There is one thing for sure, a good tree bears fruits of obedience, but a TARE that grows into a tree will only bear fruits of Disobedience.
Except in the story the older brother is not as you have described. he does not kill the Father.....The older brother, the ORIGINAL Branch, is ALREADY in the Father's House, he is easily grafted back on. All he needs according to Paul is the jealousy. All He needs according to the Joseph story is for Joseph to reveal who He is. He sees the pagan suit that's been hiding Joseph (Jesus) all along!!! He just looks like a pagan, but He's really the Jewish Messiah! The man Moses said would come and teach, and uphold God's Torah! .... He then becomes his Savior too! Joshua (Yeshua in Hebrew) leading us all into the promised land together! A mixed multitude of Gentiles and Jews all grafted together!
