  • What is Adultery l Voddie Baucham
    Matthew 5:27-30
What is adultery? Before you answer, read Jesus's words in the Sermon on the Mount. You may be surprised. The standard to which we hold ourselves is often worlds apart from what is required by our Lord.
Jesus uses the Seventh Commandment as a teaching tool to help his hearers see their need for the gospel.

Just what I needed to hear. The convictions are heavy therefore, it’s a privilege to grow in sanctification in Christ. Apart from him none of this is possible. 🙏

Thank you for posting. It is so hard to find pastors willing to present the Gospels in their full TRUTH in America these days. I can’t decide whom to place more of the blame for this…..Biblically Ignorant pastors or their congregation that is unable to hold the pastors accountable to the church due to the congregations’ Biblical ignorance. Men like Billy Graham & many others like him, in front of their TV audiences have led so many to their eternal damnation, I fear, with their simplified, watered down, half truth, “partial gospel” that presents a false Christ and a god that is NOT the God of the Bible I read.

Listen to his permanance sermon. He really does a great job making the permanance view. Then at the end he tells people to say in a civil adulterous relationships. How is that permanance? What about the covenant spouse. What if he or she wants reconciliation?

The road is narrow and a very few actually travel upon it, the way to Christ.
It is not easy, but doable.
We must be mindful of whom we entertain, in this world.
    Very good.
    Thank you, God.
    Thank you, Rev Baucham.

According to your permanance sermon divorce and adulterous remmariage is sanctified through being in adultery. So if someone divorced jesus and married bale gid wants you in that marriage over jesus? He had the jews fivorce strange pagan wives. Like i said in my comments in your permanance video how can marriage be permanent if an adultress remmariage justified divorce. I really dont get it. You nailed the sermon until the last 10 minutes.

Jesus directed the Pharisees to Genesis. In doing so he showed that God joined marriages from the very beginning. The nationality, faith, and beliefs of the couple are not relevant. God joins all 'allowable' marriages, believer or unbeliever, for life, only ending at death. (By 'allowable', I mean God does not join a couple where one is coerced, or if they are the same sex, or if they have a living spouse from an earlier marriage, etc. These things are spelt out for us; outside these few conditions God will join the couple as one.)

Adultery is permanent to those who are living it; NOT those who went through “pertinent” situations YET the church, through control and its heresies wants to pervert the situation. Read Romans 2:22 .. “Do you not commit adultery, you who abhor idols yet rob temples”? Greater is the sin of doing evil than a weakness! Self-righteousness is at the core of evil and wickedness (Ezekiel 3:20). The church is “permanently” committing adultery with the kings of this world and yet refuses to repent of its evil ways. Is it the bride ready for Christ’s return? No ... Jesus foretold of what’s happening in the parable of the banquet table. Prostitutes and tax collectors will enter first in the kingdom of God whilst the church will go through the Great Tribulation.

and all i know is failure sure i have 8 Books about faith but what is that after all i am Thomas in my mind and heart jesus is all that really matters in life in and of life itself

Adultery is sex of married people outside marriage. Or people having sex with a married person. Why debate it ? Voddie you have more to learn. Fornication is sexual sin of unmarried people. Simple

    • @chrism.1421
      @chrism.1421 4 месяца назад +1

Adultery is a man and another man's wife. Sex outside of that may be fornication, but it is not adultery - including a married man and an unmarried woman. Though it is counted as adultery for a man to neglect his wife - to put her in a position where she is heavily pressured to commit adultery. Then that sin is on him. He must keep and care for her.

@@chrism.1421 even if it’s not “adultery” (it is) God will judge all who defile their marriage bed with any kind of sexual immorality!

Preachers are not careful enough on this subject. Do not add to God's word with human ideas.
Divorce outside of adultery is not idolatry.... If a woman or her & children getting beaten by a husband & she runs for divorce, how is she coveting? or in idolatry?
Marriages before being a believer... Jesus nor the father were involved in that promise no matter what words were used. A non believer wedding does not have the Lord anywhere in it
Not recognized in heaven unless they commit themselves to the Lord.
There's a lot of marriage in the bible that God hated.
    Your message neglects that.
Your message is mans human deductions, human clever conclusions alone without the Holy Spirit.
Although you hit the mark in many areas... repentance, obedience....
You have inserted untruth in between.
Many marriages have no blessing of God on them. He was not there. You will keep believers chained to their past unnecessarily. AND believing they're idolaters when they're not.

"Marriages before being a believer... Jesus nor the father were involved in that promise no matter what words were used. A non believer wedding does not have the Lord anywhere in it
Not recognized in heaven unless they commit themselves to the Lord."
God instituted marriage at the beginning of the world, with the very first couple, the ancestors of all humans everywhere. They were not Jews or Christians. With few provisos (not close relations, not the same gender, no living former spouse) God joins every couple whether they are believers or unbelievers.
"There's a lot of marriage in the bible that God hated."
The only examples I can think of are ones in violation of God's commands. E.g. Herod and Herodias. John the Baptist told them they were wrong, that Herodias was still Philip's wife, despite divorce and remarriage. Instead of listening and repenting, Herodias was angered by the truth and had his head cut off.

The answer is in scripture. A lot of modern western “Christian “ churches do not teach what the scripture actually states. They teach traditions and doctrines of men.
The Bible defines what adultery is in Leviticus. It’s specific. It’s when a man takes a woman who already belongs to another man.
For the verse that is being referred to in this study. Search the passage by looking up the Greek meanings The Pharisees asked our messiah about sending away. That was not divorce. It’s simply kicking your woman out. The Greek word is G630. It’s not divorce. It’s sending away. Then look where that word is used in other places it’s never divorce. It’s been translated in many modern translations that way But it’s not what the text sais.
God himself is a divorcee. It states. He was a husband to both Israel and Judah and it states he gave Israel a certificate of divorce AND sent her away.
Yes the Bible does permit divorce. And yes it’s awful.
If a woman was sent away without a certificate of divorce she was still married so therefore if she was with another man she and the man would be committing adultery which was punished by death. If she was given a certificate of divorce she was free to re marry and be under the covering of a man. Adultery. (Taking another man’s wife) was a very serious charge. According to this teaching which ignores the law of God and the original text any body who is married committed adultery before they wee married because at some point before they were married they had to have desired each other. At least any marriage where the man and woman desire each other
Read the scripture for yourself you don’t have to listen to men or women. Just the almighty God.
