This episode was so well done that I wasn't sure even up until the last moment whether Toranaga actually had a plan. I thought he did. Figured he did. What threw me off was him letting go of the Anjin. I didn't get it until the very end of the episode. Excellent writing. It would be interesting to go back and watch the original 1980 production with Richard Chamberlain. Personally, though Chamberlain was the hot ticket at the time, I think it would be hard to top this current interpretation. I especially love Anna Sawai's role as Mariko. She is absolutely believable. I'm sometimes put off by Jarvis's somewhat bumbling appearance at times, though I admit it seems to work overall. Great show.

Im still not a fan of Cosmo tbh. But the rest of the cast does a great job, amazing really
