    Former Jugoslavia must have been a truly savage place in WW2. Possibly Neidholdt had some redeeming features that we are unaware of, otherwise surely he would have been strung up. The hand of Tito may have been involved - we will never know.

    Fighting partisans (aka gurrelias, terriorists, etc) is a brutal business.The constantly used term, "Innocent civilians," is often an oxymoron. I'm sure he committed war crimes, but probably no more than the partisans he fought against. He was executed because his side lost the war.

      God point. Many civilians who were German friendly in the occupied countries were demonized after the liberation. And many so-called "freedom fighters" emerged. Ethically wrong. They lost and once the war stopped it should have stopped. The country was free.

      100 per cent agreed, the partisans committed war crimes each and every day!

      Partisans are not terrorists, they fight against invading forces . Germans were invaders . Dont go to other country to kilo and pillage and you will not need fight partisans. I must remind that most german generals survived war even from SS.

      Even if the title did not say "German" you can tell by the title the execution was done to a German. Japanese executions are "Brutal" when the convicted did the same crimes.

    Prussia was almost entirely Lutheran, which is Protestant, but the Lutheran Church had "pastors" not "priests".

      The German general that they are talking about wasn't a Lutheran pastor, HIS FATHER WAS. His father was NOT a heretic.

    I don't understand why Germen soldiers had killed so many inocent people.

    • @ricparks7441
      @ricparks7441 Месяц назад

      Mainly on the orders of Hitler. He didn't want to limit the war supplies that he had for his own military forces into setting up many prisoner of war camps where Germany had to be taking care of the housing, feeding and securing of people that he didn't care for at all anyway. Killing them was much less of an expense to him and his war effort.
