    This brought back childhood memories of sucking the honey out of the flowers. Never heard of making tea out of it though. Now I’ll have to find me some honeysuckle! Love & Hugs from Ft. Worth, Texas!

    • @stepht5
      @stepht5 5 лет назад

      vmorganbogart do ever see honeysuckle in our area, I’m in Mansfield? Y husband and I are on the lookout for some! 😁

    • @vmorganbogart
      @vmorganbogart 5 лет назад +1

      StephT5 - I haven’t but I haven’t been looking. I’m gonna start though. Lol. Actually, I really can’t drive anymore & unable to get out much. I had it on my fence at the first house I bought. I was 26 & I’m 67 now, so that’s 41 years ago. You just don’t see it around like you did back then. Let me know if you find some. Nice to see a fellow Texan on here.

      vmorganbogart I know there’s not a reason for it not to be around here! 😁
      I’m almost 57, there used to be a lot of flowering vines around this area.
      It doesn’t seem that long ago that you’d see flowering vines at the base of a lot of the electric poles.

    I have never seen a honeysuckle bush and never ever knew it grew as a bush. We have the vine and they grow like crazy, not as fast as kudzu but it is on every fence post in the south. LOL Steep. • @ValleyandHoller
      @ValleyandHoller 5 лет назад

      Gail Elwood it’s so funny that you mentioned the accent because I was actually watching this video and thinking how I didn’t really think they had much of one! Lol Then again my husband grew up in the deep hills of Eastern Kentucky so his accent is thick enough I’ve had to translate for him before. 😂

    Just a heads up about an article that someone shared on facebook as we were talking about honeysuckle. RED CORAL HONEYSUCKLE IS SUPPOSEDLY TOXIC. ALSO CHECK OUT ALL HONEYSUCKLE AS ITS TOXIC TO CERTAIN ANIMALS TO DIFFERENT DEGREES. i havent researched all the specifics but its important to understand that different animals cannot all have the same things as people. And also theres many varieties of things and some can be toxic to different degrees.

    Thank you so much for sharing this idea about honeysuckle tea! I have a honeysuckle tree that produces coral colored flowers and it smells so good.
    My flowers have all dried up but, I will try this with the leaves.
    How much honey do you add to a gallon of tea?
    I'm glad you have access to free pallets! YAY!
    A lot of people are breaking them down to use for wall panelling that looks good once it's stained and varnished.
    They are good for floors to make a porch.
    I've also seen whole ones on floors under shelves in greenhouses to make it easier on the back to tend to plants in flowerpots.
    I'm looking forward to seeing what yaw do with them.
