Great bike had it 6wks now use it for work 12 miles a day battery good as long u not in power 5 all the time I've fitted the throttle which helps on roundabouts great video footage and the stats as u say
The only obvious flaw with this bike is the low amp battery. They could easily offer a higher amp replacement but that’s only in other models which I presume they want to entice you to buy. I would use a Datex2 adaptor and either add a battery, giving you the option of a 20ah (or more) hailong battery on the rear rack (with the same gross weight and better handling) or a combined 34.5ah from both batteries with the added weight of about 5-6kg which will give you more range than you’ll need, but make the bike a little less lighter to steer, it all depends on your needs and preference but you do have options. The battery lets the bike down and brings it below other cheaper market offerings.
They updated this bike, and it's Kommoda 2.0. I owned both this recent model and the Ovia. I prefer the Ovia because I like the pedal-assist with it, and I have COPD.
Just took delivery of my new Kommoda yesterday and got an unpleasant surprise! They have now downgraded the hub output to just 250 watt and also placed a speed reduction to limit it to 15 mph to bring it into line with UK legislation for street bikes. They also include a thumb throttle kit for you to fit and they say that for users wanting to remove the restrictions for off road use, etc, they have introduced a video guide showing how to do it. I contacted customer care and asked where the video was - this was obviously a new idea to them and eventually they gave up and asked me to submit a ticket for technical help - this I did and received an acknowledment but that was it! Nothing more heard! So if I haven't heard any more from them by tommorow it's going back = all the fuss about the powerful motor and then they deliver a 250 watt - not good!
It is restricted for U.K. use but is adjustable to 750 watt for off road use. It involves separating a black plug with two white wires on the controller so a pain if you need to change it back.
If you look at the cyrusher RUclips channel there is a video showing you how to do it . The 250 watt marking on the motor is good if the police stop you as 750 is illegal on Uk roads. It is easy to do just unscrew a nut underneath the battery and unplug a small connector, done . You now have a 750 watt bike.
I bought two FreeGo DK200’s, 20 amp, 1200 watt. $1399.00 plus tax = $1514.00 delivered! Put Shinko sr241 trail motorcycle tire ( 3” X 16” ) on yes it works on 20 inch bicycle rims. More bang for the buck, very nice bike. Three months 600 miles
More bang for the buck, but not more bang for the components in my opinion. They are also quite different. No rear suspension on the FreeGo. The Cyrusher is also much more of a cruiser and a relaxing bike. You don't have to watch your nards due to the step thru design. I'm paying the extra money and getting the Kommoda. For about $900 more, I prefer the Kommoda. But the FreeGo is faster, so if that what you want, then so be it.
Really appreciated the report on watts used in the various PAS levels on the hill you were pedaling up. This looks like a fantastic ebike all around. The only issue I could find is the PAS levels are not customizable so you are stuck with the factory's power output settings which for me would be a deal breaker.
Great review, one of the reviews I saw which helped me decide to buy Cyrusher, then because of my height I ended up buying the Cyrusher Kuattro, I really wanted the Kommoda and bought one for my Wife, I'm around 6ft 3" and wanted your opinion (or anyone else who has one) on whether I would be squashed on this bike or the seat would be really high if I rode the Kommoda. Thanks.
I must say out of all the bikes I've been looking at I really like the looks of this bike The website that I looked at said it had a bafang motor. At least they have a phone# to call I think I'll call them Monday and see if I can actually get a live person on the phone that could be my deciding factor
John you are correct, their website States a Bafang motor. And in the video it is a Cyrusher branded motor? Companies like this make me nervous, along with the small 14AH battery.
@@steelhauler6976 they announced it a head of time they were making this change.as well as adding the taillight. I will try to find the video of this. Nothing sketchy but I feel you Happy motoring 👍
When we test ebikes we ride with a GPS app to double check them, and I would say most are really close if not spot on. And even the ebikes we find that aren’t, tend to have a wrong setting in the advanced settings for wheel size or something similar. So simple error and easy adjustment. -JT
What was making it hard to decide was the rip racer says the size can go to 6/3 and people say the cyrusher goes to about 6/1. So I don't know if either one would fit good.
I would love to buy it, but I need reliable >60km range here in southern Germany on a route that goes 10km down, 10km flat and then back 10km up both ways. So I think for me the Himiway Big Dog would be the better option, although I heard alot of bad things about their customer support. Wish there was a Kommoda with a bigger battery.
This may sound stupid in the nerd of ebikes but I’m looking at buying this and wanting to add a kids bike seat has anyone done this ? The bike is good for where I live .
I think the issue is not getting the actual seat mounted. It would be a problem with getting in the way while pedaling. As low a s the kids seat would sit your heels would most likely come in contact with the kids seat frequently. There are quite a few companies that make ebikes with single kid seat accessibility. That I would recommend maybe looking into the Blix Ultra or a RadRunner even. -JT
Cyrusher recommends 5’3” as the smallest rider. So unfortunately I do not think so. I would look into maybe a different step-through folding ebike. They tend to be smaller and lower. -JT
There is. The Biktrix FS is one we have tried out. There is also I think one from a brand called Luna Cycles. If you purchase either just make sure to let them know we sent you.
@@EbikeEscape thanks for the info! This cyrusher comoda has really caught me eye! But, it’s pretty heavy. My teardrop camper doesn’t have a back bumper or hitch receiver. When I find the right bike, iI will definitely buy through you!

Does the bike have a torque sensor the website shows that it has
I’d like to see a torque censor and a larger battery. Then I’d buy it.
I love this bike been eying it for awhile, but I HATE throttle tied to the pedal assist levels.
There was a lot of tune-ability in the display. So you might be able to adjust it more to your liking.
