Literally early velvet underground is classical, ancient and traditional folk type music using electric guitars ,bass and drums that's why their music sounds so timeless and touching as well as a little touch of experimetal textures and sounds . Amen.
It does kind of sound similar which is funny because Cale gave this demo to Marianne Faithfull to pass along to Mick and Andrew Loog Oldham (Stones' manager) in hopes they could help VU get a record deal. She really liked it but maybe it was because she thought it sounded familiar. Lol
I wish there was more velvet work with cale singing. He sounds like an angel
Velvet Underground goes Medieval on us
It is not really that weird...it fits perfectly.
Reminds of "La filha dau ladre" , a medieval song from the 13th century in Provence (France).

WOW
I love this..the original is the best.... but still awesome. Kind of like what I imagine a Simon and Garfunkel cover would be like?
Man this is weird, the Velvet Underground gone baroque, interesting to hear though.
Baroque ? sounds more like middle ages... :/
John Cale´s classical background shines through here
I really like how this begins. Very ethereal and almost classical sounding. Like a lullaby and baroque as someone else said.
This is from 65? crazyy

Wow, where was this taken from?
Peel Slowly and See. A 1995 compilation album of unreleased Velvet underground songs
They recorded it in John Cale's apartment on Ludlow Street in the Lower East Side of NYC.
THANK YOU
