A note on the shoulder for those yet to build it: Take time to read all the steps for assembling the joint first to get an idea of what is going on. Then rotate the forward/back joint out of the way and use a vice grip or adjustable wrench to press the joint into the torso in with equal pressure from both sides. (Use some buffer material to not dig into the plastic)
just finish torso. shoulder joint really give me goosebump😂. use dishwashing liquid brand sunlight to lubricat it. and perfectly fit. are there side effect cause this is the 1st i use dishwash liquid for super tight joint like sazabi here?
What's the problem? I built mine and had no problems on anything I didn't even have to tighten any joints which was a first since every set of hands I've ever got are always super loose and this was only my 3rd RG and 5th ever kit
I love what Bandai has been doing with the Real Grade line recently. Tallgeese felt like building a mini master grade, and now we've got the Sazabi that's the SIZE of a master grade, and they both look amazing. The only 2 things I don't like about the RG Sazabi are the shoulder joint (which... admittedly, I don't know how I would design it any better) and the fact that the gold emblem on the shield was a sticker instead of a plated plastic piece like they did with Sinanju or at least a dry transfer.
I just started building gunpla a month ago and I happened to get this as my first one. Hadn't seen this video till now and I gotta say I love this bad boy. I re-painted all the yellow parts gold and turned all the red to a more metallic red. I'm super happy with it and I agree this kit is fantastic out of the box.
that whole "get it right the first time or you're fucked" thing with the joints also happened to me with one of the shoulder pegs on the master grade full armor gundam from gundam thunderbolt. i went to put it into the torso, and the shoulder peg just snapped. luckily, i came up with an inventive fix, and it worked, as odd as it is. i found a bit of runner that matched the width of the peg, cut off a length of it. i cut the length down to an appropriate length, and shaved the sides of it a tiny bit to make it fit into the joint a little easier. i used a pin vice to drill a hole into the center of the small length of cut and shaved runner, and another hole into the base of where the peg was supposed to attach (after i snipped off the rest of the peg). i inserted a very thin piece of brass rod (which you can find at almost any hobby store) that fit almost perfectly into the drilled hole, and i superglued the half piece i had left, along with the length of runner.
Happened to me as well, I also fucked up the cockpit joint as well. Well that's 100+ bucks wasted lmao, I don't exactly know if I can find people who could have extra parts or even repair it.
I broke the shoulder as well but I ended up fixing it. A tip to prevent it from happening (I did it with the other shoulder) cut a rod out of the runner that fits into the hole of the shoulder peg joint and Cement it in there, essentially reinforcing the hollow joint so it's less likely to shear off.
Just bought the kit from my local model kit store. What I notice was some parts are thinner than the master grade sazabi. Thanks for the information of this kit. Love your vids :)

If I'm getting one, I think I might was well put a pin through the peg before assembly. They used the thick type with a lot of holes cut out, which severely reduces the peg's durability

I don't think this "beats the MG Sazabi in every way except for size." The MG Sazabi still has amazing looking silver parts and a really cool armor transformation gimmick that the RG doesn't have. And it would be nice if the the insides of the thrusters were yellow like the MG has.
Prefer MG too, but as been stated, it’s basically a statue with very limited posing. This is fine by me as I don’t give a shit about posing, but for those that do, RG is a better (cheaper) option.

When building it myself, I never broke the shoulder joint, and believe me, I can break a lotta jjoints. The rg sazabi's shoulders didn't seem to be very fragile, but I dunno. Probably just got lucky.
Hot tip for anyone posing their Sazabi! If you pull the back forearm armour out the wrist can extend out with a bend. It adds a bit more ease to posing with the Beam Shot Rifle and the Beam Tomahawk. Haven’t seen any reviewers showcase this so here’s the info now. Let’s hope Mecha pins this!
As someone that has started this year - 2024,these old reviews are great because the kits are still available. I was looking at the Ver ka MG, but this will suffice and I could spend the extra $$$ saved on another kit. 👍👍👍
I still can’t help liking the MG Ver. Ka. more. It has more detail, better proportions (in my opinion, at least), the Long Rifle, waterslides, guaranteed good shoulder joints, better panel opening gimmicks, etc. Still getting this though.
I always fail to understand why people would want to buy the real grade variant when they have the master grade already. It’s such a waste of moola. Real grades to what i believe, are usually for people who cannot afford the master grade but want something closer to that yet being more Budget friendly. Master grade definitely triumphs real grade or lower any day, that’s why it costs a lot more. But of course for eg, the date of where it first released plays a part. For instance, real grade strike freedom being a recent release have so much better gimmicks than the mg since the mg have no 2.0 yet. But I’m certain when that day happens, the 2.0 will be leaps and bounds better than the real grade. That’s not to say the real grade is not good though. It is anything but bad. Just that if you have the money, mg is the way to go.
Dragon Slayer1234 The reason why people buy RG kits when they already have the MG variants (at least for people like me) is for the experience of the build. RG kits with MG counterparts aren’t built the same as their counterparts. If not for the build, it’s for the differences in design. It doesn’t take hours of observation to find tons of differences. Some people may like the design of the RG more than the MG’s design. Even the RG Gundam Mk. II and the HG Mk. II have differences in proportions and some can prefer the RG and some can prefer the HG.
Pigeon X-18999 its natural for different people to have different views on the stated matter. I understand and i respect your opinion. I just personally feel its a waste of money to have 2 figures of the same suit!
I think the real grade are sometimes looking a bit different than the animated mobile suit, like a reinvented version to fit more like today's mobile suit
My wife got me this for Christmas. I've been looking at this kit for months when I see it at stores but now that I have one I'm too scared to build it. Ps. I've never had a Gunpla before.
See a lot of people comparing the ver Ka to this bad boy right here. I personally have both, and I’m willing to say that both are top notch. I like to play with my model kits and them to look nice with minimal effort put in, and that’s exactly what the RG is. Comes with really nicely molded beam parts that are actually UV responsive which I thought was neat. Personally, the transforming gimmick for the mg I never really bothered to do. Built mine over 2 years ago, poly caps are getting weak and the joints are sagging. I would say RG is the way to go
+Randoman15 damn! I was wondering why it looked so familiar and turns out it was used glue lol thx for telling me. I was already starting to think that his gunpla got a disease lmao
No. The Ver Ka is currently one of, if not the best Gundam model kit they ever produced. Despite what drugs mecha is on, the RG just cannot match the MG in design and detail.
MrFlunkorg Actually the MG Sazabi ver.ka is regarded worldwide as the best model kit ever period, among every kind of model kit (gunpla, cars, tanks, helicopters, etc. Despite tbh outside mecha models there is hardly anything able to be called proper competence)
you clearly have never seen a full-rigged vessel. if you are able to translate that level of complexity and care to detail on a gundam you are gbwc material.
"It is hands down, the best Real Grade" I thought the Unicorn was? "It beats the Master Grade Sazabi in every aspect but size" Hold your horses there. The only improved thing about it is the hip joint, the ab crunch and the wrist. Everything we have here is directly a derivative from the MG. That glorious shoulder joint? That was originally from the MG Nu, passed down to the Sazabi. That armor expanding gimmick? MG Sazabi did that on a larger scale! Like I said, if it weren't for the balljointed hipjoint of the MG, this thing would be just a smaller version of it. I don't hate it, though. It's probably my favorite RG! But the way you said things just bothered me a bit. Great vid, though.
Nev The Best I'm pretty sure he meant for this year. RG unicorn came out last year and it was on his top 10 kits of 2017. And here we are 2018 and the two best RG is the banshee and right the sazabi. But hey I didn't know that about the MG version. I have a strange feeling Bandai got a little lazy on the shoulders. Everything is not falling apart so that's good.
Yeah, I think they got a little bit lazy on that regard. The problem is with the peg that connects the shoulder joint to the body. Good lord, it's a tiny one. If you're gonna buy it (which I'm sure you will) be careful. Take your time building it.
Is there such thing as over-detailed? Plus, that was the point. Sazabi was a big kit. A big ver. Ka kit. If it wasn't over-detailed, people would've been disappointed. If you're talking about the transformation, then yeah, I can see your point. But, it's optional, though.
Thx for the good review 👍 I personally think that in term of unique design and engineering, suits from zeon side generally can show more detail and complex kit structure. And I believe this RG Sazabi can be said as pinnacle of RG quality (at least for now). How yountranslated from 1/100 into 1/144 without losing the detail... magnificent.
I can’t help but see the Sinanju as a Sazabi that lost weight
dont fat-shame sazabi!
The Sinanju may look like a Sazabi, but it's actually based on the Nu Gundam

I'm still working on the GP01-Fb RG and I've just finished assembling it and panel lines...only to deal with decals. 27 hours and counting...

Well now let’s hope that we’re gonna get an RG Nightingale
oh my god yes, along with an rg hi nu
One of the best designed mobile suits ever.
I cant wait for RG Nu Gundam!
your the BEST in gundam reviews hands down!
Real Grade best grade.
What about mg?
hey, just build this kit after long letting it inside the cupboard. nothing can ever top rg sazabi for now.most solid, most beautiful, most detailed.
Does this mean that the best MG and RG is now the Sazabi? Because I don't mind that being the case.
Sazabi and Nu Gundam is the best model kit ever
I'm excited to see what the future of the RG line holds within it. Very excited.
Remember when he was creaming himself over the RG Unicorn? I'm sensing a pattern with you, Mecha :)
I just received mine in the mail today. I am so excited to get building!!!
You skipped the gimmick wear the wrist pulls out further, as well as the gimmick wear the crotch frame pulls down for the legs and waist.
Yup, the wrist gimmick is great for the shot beam rifle, makes it easier to get good poses
I'm gonna get this now because of this review 👍🏼
What would you buy first, RG sazabi or MG qant full saber?
I accidentally bought metal etched parts for this kit instead of the ver. Ka. I’m excited to build this.
Dragon Slayer1234
The reason why people buy RG kits when they already have the MG variants (at least for people like me) is for the experience of the build.
I just got this kit 2 days ago, lucky thing I re-watch this video before breaking any arm :D
I think the real grade are sometimes looking a bit different than the animated mobile suit, like a reinvented version to fit more like today's mobile suit
Real grades are supposed to create the “Real thing”
My wife got me this for Christmas.
I've been looking at this kit for months when I see it at stores but now that I have one I'm too scared to build it.
Ps. I've never had a Gunpla before.
You get around to building?
@@alexlap8448 nope. Life has me having no time for myself lately.
I don't even have the tools to build it.
@@weichiang89 when the time is right, he will be waiting for you. No rush
Rg Nu Gundam please Bandai.
Jake Theberge not bandai but p bandai
That Boy or daban 😂😂
That Boy if they do I’ll be furious. As if the PG Seven Sword on the 30th Anniversary of CCA wasn’t disappointing enough
I am sure if they do a RG Nu gundam they are going to reuse another RG frame
@@abrokenemmo9254 nooooooooooo
Mg sazabi and rg sazabi have one thing in common. They're the best of their grade.
"its glorious !"
no need to watch now HAHA
See a lot of people comparing the ver Ka to this bad boy right here. I personally have both, and I’m willing to say that both are top notch. I like to play with my model kits and them to look nice with minimal effort put in, and that’s exactly what the RG is. Comes with really nicely molded beam parts that are actually UV responsive which I thought was neat. Personally, the transforming gimmick for the mg I never really bothered to do. Built mine over 2 years ago, poly caps are getting weak and the joints are sagging. I would say RG is the way to go
4:38 omg wtf is thaaaaaaaaat?! Censor that shit! Jesus...
No its the super glue to hold together the waist peg
+Randoman15 damn! I was wondering why it looked so familiar and turns out it was used glue lol thx for telling me. I was already starting to think that his gunpla got a disease lmao
@@thenoobgamer95 your welcome
Surprise surprise.....THE KING IS BACK
The sinanju waist joint triggers me.
When i first saw the saxabi i genuinely didnt expect it to be so articulate and posable
4:38 school in a nutshell
yes
Finally a RG Sazabi review in English.
Me : *see rg sazabi
My wallet : *welp, my free trial life has ended*
Even from the thumbnail this gunpla looks very badass, the color looks very pops 10/10
Does the RG Sazabi gives out a ver Ka feeling to it?
No. The Ver Ka is currently one of, if not the best Gundam model kit they ever produced. Despite what drugs mecha is on, the RG just cannot match the MG in design and detail.
yeap thats true , I have it and its the biggest and most beatiful model in my shelf
Well, it is based on the ver Ka after all. For anime accuracy, there is either the HG or the Robot Spirits version.
The way Sazabi turned out makes me so excited for the eventual nu gundam
"It is hands down, the best Real Grade"
I thought the Unicorn was?
"It beats the Master Grade Sazabi in every aspect but size"
Hold your horses there.
It also beats the MG in the fact it isn't overdetailed.
Is there such thing as over-detailed? Plus, that was the point. Sazabi was a big kit. A big ver. Ka kit. If it wasn't over-detailed, people would've been disappointed. If you're talking about the transformation, then yeah, I can see your point. But, it's optional, though.
Nev The Best It's too greebled in my opinion.
I haven’t really been an RG fan cause of how small it is but I’m definitely getting this over his Ver.ka counterpart.
7:01 I cried 😂
Very excited to build this kit. Should definitely help pass time during quarantine. Will get the Nu Gundam next week :)
I cant find one
Your making me jealous
I'm pretty sure usagundamstore has em
Thx for the good review 👍
I personally think that in term of unique design and engineering, suits from zeon side generally can show more detail and complex kit structure.
And I believe this RG Sazabi can be said as pinnacle of RG quality (at least for now).
How yountranslated from 1/100 into 1/144 without losing the detail... magnificent.
