Neighborhoods in Dayton, like this one, were high end areas back in the day when Dayton was among the industrial powerhouses of the midwest. As more and more work was outsourced overseas, people started losing jobs and leaving by the wayside. This left a huge influx of "nice, big houses" for very cheap. A lot of these houses look nice at a quick glance but most are very dilapidated and rotted from the inside-out.. after the housing market bubble popped in 2008 you were able to buy houses like these for as low as $600 or $700! I saw many houses going for under a grand. Only catch was that you were required to get the house up to code within 90 day or something like that..
@@DownHillSkateTime yeah the automotive companies sent a lot of work to Mexico also a lot of money left Detroit after the riots so the once great houses ended up dilapidated pretty similar story throughout the midwest unfortunately

Very nice, tidy and green scenery. Nice place to live at the first glance. Not hot, obviously winter's would be cold and snowy. Summers hot but humid. Good fresh air without much dust. Its historic background attracts me(aviation birth place). Maybe not the best, but nothing's perfect.
That white limo probably belongs to the local dealer. Why aren't the Police there A lot of the trees need removed or trimmed . Why can't they play basketball on a vacant lot ? Why aren't the used tires removed ? There must be some leadership in Dayton capable of shaking that community out of its torpor , surely ? I've been part of reversing what was a similar downward spiral in another Ohio city 10 years ago . Once the downward becomes an upward spiral , it gets incrementally easier to improve , although I accept it will probably take several years.
if he would have went a little deeper, was heading for the projects. James H has some rough neighborhoods around
guys is ohio a good state for immigrant from egypt? what about Columbus?
You should probably visit Columbus
Dayton, Ohio is bad

Have you ever considered going to some of the richest areas in the U.S. as well?
no that shit is boring as hell. why do you think in most of his videos he drive past the good boring neighborhoods to see the bad exciting hood neighborhoods
What so exciting about bad neigborhoods, just dont get it
Pawel Olszewski
It's a weird fascination with things outside their own basic generic boring existence.
Its not even a city is a large town
Dayton is a metropolitan city this is only part of many suberbs surrounding it
800,000 metro population is not a town.
the population is 140k
@@PLP357 um....lots of people live in the suburbs of a city. If u want to include EVERYONE, it's 800,000 people.
Dayton is my hometown wss born and raised in Dayton I still have family that lives in Dayton. I'm glad I got away when I did.
It is a great place to be from.
Facts
I live 10 minutes from the Dayton hood lol
@@bschluter23 whats it like up there? Is there money circulating? From what ive read about employment rates yall are doing pretty good. What is the average rent for a 2/1 apartment? Whats the crime like?
@@jerryspencer2811 downtown and other areas surrounding dayton have really improved but Dayton is still very affordable, ranked first in the country in January for affordability . we have had a 2 bed for 475 and it was heat and water/ trash paid. Big with balcany. But this was in a sweet spot surrounded by so-so and some bad areas. So the area as a whole has alot of crime and even though the other side of dayton has far less crime, Dayton has ranked about the same per capita crim rate as cities like detroit and chicago. So be prepared in certain areas. Overall there is alot of good that Dayton has to offer but is laughed at by all of its booming suberbs and surrounding small cities.
What the fuck are you actually driving? A 50-year-old bus?
I live between Dayton and Riverside.
Ohio’s mayor likes running a rundown place or what?
Odd one out, self-righteously plotted, scared guilty stupid city. Even worse than 25 years ago when I lived there. Off N. Main st. Tim Ryan bears the most winning edge.
allot of nice houses for it to be a hood
Born and raised in Dayton Ohio this all on the westside the other sides of town look exactly the same people of different colors that's all Dayton is depressing as fuck most of this is off Gettysburg
I've literally been on Gettysburg for like 7 years
I was told to stay out of West Dayton.
You were given fantastic advice
seth kondrath Lolo
I see you made it up here from Cincy!

Stfu Toledo is wack asf don’t even mention wack ass city in da comments
All those large factories cut & ran, so no jobs now.
The hardest hood 937 period
Salute 937!!💯💯💯
Must be going thru gentrification cuz a lot of those houses look nice
@@DownHillSkateTime oh ok so the same shit that happened in Detroit with the automotive industry they were selling house for $1 but with a catch
@@donguapo7862 yep probably the same situation there
@@DownHillSkateTime yeah the automotive companies sent a lot of work to Mexico also a lot of money left Detroit after the riots so the once great houses ended up dilapidated pretty similar story throughout the midwest unfortunately
I have an idea to make videos somewhat like these. But I'm a white dude and I don't know how kindly they would take me driving through their hoods with cameras all over my ride. I have been in and through hoods here in Cincinnati all the time and I lived right there around mcmicken and vine so I lived in the hood for a few years.
But I guess they would probably just assume I was a cop huh??
Thank you so much Central Bankers..
Borded up homes but got brand new 300 ms sitting outside on dubs
Rico conti exactly you are in from dayton you know how it is! Impala and chrysler 300 land
hi from Brazil.
Hi Maggie!
Every area has low income and poverty areas. And sadly after the Tornado the community looks even worse.
Dayton is a Beauty City. Just highlighting a low income area is not Representative of the entire city.
What are you driving that’s so squeaky and noisy?
They got some big ass county houses in they hood in Baltimore our shit small asf and most blocks full of abandoned houses
Ass county?
He is riding a tank that’s why no gang hurt him
