- Shake Shack is getting into spicy-chicken game with its brand-new Hot Chick’n sandwich-a crispy chicken breast dusted with a guajillo and cayenne pepper blend, then tucked into a Martin's potato bun with herb buttermilk slaw. Who better to give it a test-drive than Sean Evans, a man who knows a thing or two about spicy chicken? Sean met up with Shake Shack culinary director Mark Rosati to get a sneak preview of the sandwich before it goes on sale nationally August 1 (or July 28 via the Shake Shack app), as well as some tips on how to make your own Nashville-style hot chicken sandwiches at home. BONUS: He also managed to coax some secret Shake Shack menu hacks out of Mark-get ready for peanut-butter bacon burgers and off-menu BLTs.

I had these Hot Chicken sandwiches at my local ShakeShack for the first time 3 weeks ago. It was absolutely amazing. I've had it it every time ive gone back since. It's my favorite item there now hands down.

I've never had Shake Shack but just looking at the burger and crinkle fries it reminds me alot of a midwestern chain called Culvers the even do the custard shakes too.
Mark seems like such a super nice guy, and boy did that sammie make me want to fry up! Testing out this weekend for sure. Also! You guys did a great job on color grading this vid. I see a lot of people are sloppy with this lately... They shoot on super expensive gear, and then just leave the flat ass profile as is, or don't tone down highlights etc.

Only if you're visiting somewhere with a Shake Shack, don't go out of your way just for Shake Shack though, that would be a little much
You can go to NYC and get one but it really isn't worth the hype, like most foods.
They have one in New Haven. Right near Yale. It's worth trying.
I would be the person to be sarcastic when Sean says "I feel like we are getting closer to eating sandwichs" I would say something a long the lines of "No not yet, we would need to fry it, then pickle it for a year, then we need to make the bread and it needs to be perfect, if not we need to try again until it is soft enough but not to gooey."
i hope this is the start of chain restaurants giving out recipes for some of the dishes they serve.

you can also pound chicken breasts flat (maybe 1/4 inch thick) with some plastic wrap on top, which really helps make a lot of meat thinner with more surface area. same for porkchops.

Real Nashville hot chicken blooms the spices in hot oil first and paints the spices on with an oil/spice mixture. It's not a shake, it's not a sauce either. It's almost an Indian technique applied to southern food.

Does shake shack fry their meat patties? Because the burger i tried sure tasted like it, and almost the whole pattie was crisped, felt like i was eating a rice cake, it was terrible, you can even see it on this video when they are pouring the peanut butter sauce.
