Following on from our initial ‘Introduction to the IC-9700 VHF/UHF/1200 MHz Base Station SDR Transceiver’ video, we have put together a more in-depth, video called ‘Overview of the Icom IC-9700 SDR VHF/UHF Transceiver’.

I want the ICOM IC-9700, but can someone tell me if it will possibly work with SDR# software? The SDR# software is beautiful.

Whilst I'm really enjoying the 9700, why does it not including the 1300-1325 range for UK ATV ? This is quite frustrating and something I hope can be fixed in firmware.

I still do not have this model, due to the high cost in my country that is around 10.00 dollars, but I will do everything to buy one, or win.

"if the software is IN the radio, it isn't SDR" What sort of bollox is that? Just because there's software inside, doesn't determine one way or the other whether the radio is a full SDR or a hybrid SDR, or even a full analog with SDR effects on the baseband audio. Luis.. you need to think a bit before you post...

@@johnc3403 Everyone can have their own opinion on what SDR is and what it means, those of us who use a pure SDR, is my case, we think and think that an SDR must work with external and not internal software, which would limit many possibilities of use ...

@@luispelox9319 "if the sofware is IN the radio, the radio is´nt SDR " just sounds like a silly statement to me. Are the IC-7300 or the FTDX101D not SDR rigs? Under the hood they look VERY software defined. What would you call them Luis?

@@johnc3403 Yaesu FT450 it was never advertised as an SDR, although it is ... i use a TransFox one, who knows?

@@luispelox9319 The FT-450 is a triple conversion superhet rig with 86khz and 24khz analog IF stages with Mixers, Filters, IF amps, classic AGC circuitry, everything you'd expect to see in a superhet rig. The final IF/AF stage is DSP just like the TS-590 or FTDX1200. These rigs are NOT SDR rigs. I don't understand how you can claim that?
