Every day I get so many emails and comments asking why you can’t locate the music I use. I purchase music licenses for almost all the music you hear in my videos. I buy them them from various royalty-free production music sites and most of the time they don’t list the performer because it’s music made only for film productions with an audio watermark throughout the entire track, unless you purchase the single-use license for $50-100 per track. I use a lot of opera so often I’ll reference the opera but I won’t be able to direct you to a recording of that specific performance that you could stream or buy on iTunes or Spotify. Hope that clears things up and thank you for appreciating quality music.
Parts of this series were originally filmed last year for another project for Tuscany Villa, which is a free puzzle decoration game set in Tuscany that you can play on your mobile.

I take the opportunity of this video, to thank you from my heart. Thank you for showing the world by explaining with love and passion for our - now also your - land, the history and beauties of our wonderful Italy. Unfortunately, we Italians, being used to living here, often no longer pay attention to the beauty that we have around us and therefore unfortunately we do not give it the right attention. But I'm happy to see that there are still people living here - Italian and non-Italian - who still realize they live in the most beautiful country in the world.❤️🇮🇹

I love how talented you are at capturing the flavour of a place, your cinematography and interviews are so immersive! This place reminds me of where Im living now in France, near the town of Uzès, which I really encourage you to visit if you're ever in Provence! Most people visit larger cities when they travel but the true heart of a culture and a people can often be found in traditional old villages where people have been preserving a way of life with sacredness and respect and so much love for so long. ❤️

Dear Kylie, as an Italian, fascinated by history and in particular by the beauty of historic small hill towns, I must thank you for this beautifully filmed and edited video and for all the interesting information you have included in it (like the presence of little Jerusalem or the carved road caves of Etruscan origin).
Pitigliano is one of my favourite places, still out the radar for most tourists coming to Italy and Tuscany. Your beautiful video will certainly contribute to let people get acquainted to it.
Villages like 5 terre or the towns on the Amalfi coast have now reached an extreme level of popularity and become really overcrowded in peak season, others like Civita di Bagnoregio (the dying city) are becoming more populars thanks to some media attention, but Pitigliano has remained mostly in the shadow in these years. It's a pity, since it is a really magical place. If you are driving at night from the coast along road SR74, you will be truly mesmerized by the view when you finally see Pitigliano and its cliffs illuminated after a sharp turn.
And for those that like me are in awe in front of similar places, I would suggest some other hilltowns like Sorano and Sovana (both near Pitigliano), Vitorchiano (really off the beaten track) or the impressive villages in western Liguria like Bussana vecchia (a resuscitated ghost town), Apricale (the only place with a bycicle installed on top of the bell tower or campanile), Bajardo and Dolceacqua, just to name e few of them!
All the best from Torino to you, Guido and your baby!
    Ciao, Roberto

Beautifully done! My grandmother is from Pitigliano as are a lot of Italians who settled in the same town in Central, PA in the U.S. For years, I researched recipes that I assumed were solely Italian, only to discover from friends in Pitigliano and from reading Edda Servi Machlins cookbook Classic Cuisine of the Italian Jews - that the recipes I had been raised with are a cultural blend of Italian and Jewish tradition. I recently finished a chronicle of my grandmother's recipes as well as a film short on the Italians of Hershey, PA - in the event any viewers would like to see the work. It's a beautiful town, an amazing and unique story, and you did a wonderful job telling the story beautifully! Grazie Millie!

You can always find something new to search out in Italy. The adventures never stop. Thank you for sharing another little secret hideaway. Boy,did he speak really fast Italian that mayor!! thank goodness for your translation. by the way, we are coming to Italy September 11 through the 23rd. Going to attend my cousin Rosa‘s wedding in Gioia del Colle, Bari. Then we will head on after the wedding to the Amalfi and Sorrento area. We are traveling with two other friends. It’s a shame that I can’t meet you at a restaurant. (I respect your privacy & understand) But right now I know how busy you are with the baby and your parents and I look forward to seeing my Friday videos. God bless you! We love u!

Wow, Kylie. Thank you so much for the beautiful filming and conversations with locals; breathtaking and intimate. This town of Pitigliano is the very type of place my husband and I would so love to come back and explore if we should be so fortunate to visit Italy again.

Ben saluti Kylie ed Guido! Hope all is going well with the new one on-the-way. 🙏👍
So many amazing places like this in Italy. Thanks for helping us discover this one! The ancient road sounds spectacular and enchanting. I have been preparing for my first return since the pandemic to Italia in October. Northern Puglia first to see famiglia then Salento to discover it's beauty and charm for the first time and then to Sicilia to visit friends I have dearly missed for 3 years. 🙏🥰

Saw this and was very impressed. I came upon this sort of by accident. Was reading the fun and fascinating Kindle book A Zany Slice of Tuscany”written by a Canadian who fell in love with Italy , and then an Italian. Anyway, she and her new and extensive Italian family travel all about Italy, including the less touristed spots. So I would Google each of these interesting-sounding places. Thus I came upon this particular work of Kylie Flavell. I thought she was an Italian who had married an Englishman, with her looks and expressions. Of course, things are sort of the opposite. Either way, Kylie in this video was most charming, and was able to draw out what I thought was fellow Italians so well. So this is how I learned of her work. I must say, and I am sure everyone will agree, that her cinematography is superb. I do suspect that Kylie could one day direct actual films beyond personal accounts. Either way, she is clearly a very creative and sensitive individual, who knows how to give the feeling of a place. I hope for more of these videos that are perhaps less of the introspective type, and more externally directed. But every artist has the right to follow their muse. So either way, thanks for the great work, Kylie. Who is from the land down under, I know now.
By the way, her situation reminds me of another Australian, the dynamic Peter Maneas, who has his fun and fascinating series about Greece, “My Greek Odyssey “. His Greek background, and knowledge of the land, and language, and people, enables him to get below the surface, and really show the true and wonderful side of Greece.
Kylie is a different personality, of course, and is not of Italian background, I think, but has learned how to speak and move like an Italian, enough to be accepted and welcomed. So she too is able to reveal more of the real Italy than perhaps most other bloggers who are mere visitors to Bella Italia. Of course, just as in the case of the author of the e-book I referred to above, now Kylie gets to experience Italy from yet another dimension, as part of an Italian family. It shall be interesting to see and hear about.

While living and working in Europe many years ago, I visited Italy often for work and for holiday's. I am of full Italian decent and wanted to explore my heritage. My mother told me her mother lived in a home that was carved out of the rock, the caves in Ischia, I thought that sounded like it could not be right, until I went to Ischia myself and saw all the caves along the road to Sierra Fontana and Fontana, the towns from my mothers side of the family (Scotti/Iacono). Our family names are carved into the obelisk in the town square. The same with my Father side of the family in Roccoforte Calabria, the town square is named after my family (Sgro). Through your videos I feel like I am in Italy again, and have been inspired to take the plunge to apply for Italian Citizenship to be able to return to the land of my grandparents. There is something about living and breathing in Italy that can only be described as being able to truly understand who I am and be myself, and loving life. I am very fortunate my grandparents/parents worked so hard and took the chance to come to America to give future generations a chance at a better life. I have been doing my own blood line research for citizenship through decent, and by chance came across all the original birth, death and marriage documents in Italian. Now on to learn Italian!
