Every day I get so many emails and comments asking why you can’t locate the music I use or find it using Shazam. I purchase music licenses for almost all the music you hear in my videos. I buy them them from various royalty-free production music sites and most of the time they don’t list the performer because it’s music made only for film productions with an audio watermark throughout the entire track, unless you purchase the single-use license for $50-100 per track. I use a lot of opera so often I’ll reference the opera but I won’t be able to direct you to a recording of that specific performance that you could stream or buy on iTunes or Spotify. Hope that clears things up and thank you for appreciating quality music.
Please don't follow me on Facebook as that person is not me - they have stolen my identity for the past few years. This 70 year old grandmother knows exactly what she is talking about,I to am a grandmother & one finds out by now (at the grandmother stage) that there is much more life behind us that there is in front of us 😊 I know this sounds really negative but it isn’t meant to be at all. I look back and my heart really breaks at the reality of life yesterday (Nov.13) was the first year anniversary of my only beautiful daughter she was perfectly healthy as far as anyone knew so it was such a shock for which I have not & will never recover. She was my everything so you can see Kylie always remember life is short

Your comment about living out of your depth really touched on how I feel. My husband and I moved from the US to Portugal in 2019. We travel a great deal (We are vanlifers with two big dogs!) We have met so many wonderful people and I am often left in awe of the conversations I have with Europeans, I feel my US education left me wanting. I'm impressed with how women of all ages travel alone here, the love of life, the enjoyment of conversation and food. We all need to step outside of our comfort zone to really find ourselves. Not having the means or being the "right" age should not being an excuse. Wherever you are, open your windows, listen to new music, drink wine, grow flowers and your world will open up! Thank you for your inspiration and beautiful videos! Much love to you!

To the young woman who wrote about her first year in Italy, making friends is difficult any where. I've lived in a few cities in the U.S. and as I've gotten older, find it much harder. You are new to that location and people already have their social networks and very busy lives so it can be hard to feel like you fit in. I've had great interactions with people but they are more on the surface. I learned how to entertain myself and be happy alone although I long for those friendships that are more intimate. It isn't you....their dance card is full and they just don't have the space for more which is understandable. I wish I had the time/energy after a busy work week to put the energy in to building friendships but I don't any more. Sad as it is, making new friends takes a lot of time and work unless you happen to meet someone who has the same situation you are in - new in town and an open dance card. You just need one friend to make it work! Kylie's suggestions are spot on and I feel getting out and being in a place you are around people is what will help. I've worked at home 7 years and have found my social connections dwindled once that happened. You have to be around people to have a chance of connecting. It is effort but if you really want to stay, stick with it!

This was a wonderful way of getting to know you better. This year I turned 56 and all these years I have survived but not lived. I have been married, divorced, raised 3 beautiful children on my own, and now spend time teaching English online and living with a wonderful partner. But, there is still the "what if". I was recently struck with the phrase "a life without regret" and I am realizing that I need to live. In all my years and in all the places I have lived in the U.S. nowhere has ever really felt like home. My family comes from a little village in the Abruzzo region of Italy and I have always wanted to return there. I am truly hoping that when I get there my heart will find a home. Because of your inspiration I am not afraid to face challenges. Thank you and bless you!

Suzanne, your comments really speak to me. I, too, am 56. While in the depths of depression in 2019 (absolutely hating my job and being single), I remembered Annie Dillard's wise words, "How you live your life is, after all, how you live your days." And that's when I started planning my first trip to Italy. What's happened since then is nothing short of miraculous: spending 4 months in Italy during Covid, and now, just recently, purchasing a home in Sicily. I guess this is all to say, Sister, I hear you. Go visit Abruzzo! Kylie is wise beyond her years and an inspiration to us all. Here's to creating the life you dream of! 🌞💖

@@suzyblake2007 Not crazy at all! In fact, I think it is this yearning for something more, something beyond our present experience, this thing that speaks in whispers and tugs at our soul - this, I think, is responsible for all great things in the world, all that is good and beautiful. We just need to answer the call! Best wishes on your journey 🧡

Humanity has been brainwashed for centuries to live in survival mode whereas our Inner Self longs for and knows deep down that it deserves a life filled with rich and wonderful experiences. I'm in my 60s and have done so many things I've dreamed of doing but each time have had to quit before true fulfillment and success could be achieved because of lack of money. That said, I am so grateful that I had the courage to try even if I could barely afford it. I would always ask myself " If I were on my deathbed, how would I feel if I never tried this dream or that dream?" Regret is a terrible thing. Follow your dreams even if you can't fully achieve them. You never know where that path will lead you next. Life was meant to be lived and enjoyed, not "survived".

Good morning Kylie, your story and life this far is quite the adventure on every level. Your children will be so proud of their mother and her achievements and even her trials and tribulations. I honestly admire your bravery and courage in setting out on such a journey. I missed out at some point my quest to continue to find my happy home. I made a choice which emotionally was right but geographically I'm always unsettled. I'm losing time with always procrastinating. I'm 60 years old and after watching this I told my husband "right, we need to start on that adventure we always leave for next year"! I'm greek born in Canada and married to a British-spaniard for 26 years. He is the love of my life and for that I'm so grateful that I found. I almost lost him to 'C' (I hate even saying it) but I didn't!!! Now we need to do what we put on hold!! Love everything about you Kylie, you brought that fire in me again, reminded me of the dreams I put away! Florence is one of those magical places (amongst others) we talked about! Thank you for your videos and being that special woman that you are! ❤

Really good advice Kylie. The reality vs the desire to experience a new world. Many times I have been in these situations. Even moving to Tasmania 20 years ago tested me to the hilt. I have watched so many give up on living here from mainland Australia - for the same reasons you note for Italy. I relate to your Uni exp. I went back to study in 2016 at Uni and I was shocked that I learnt so little as a mature student, it made me truly worried for the younger students I was studying with...looking to start life. It was a plod of basic nothing - mixed with ideology of no benefit. The one thing I took away from graduation was...at least I know what is being taught now, and how this is filtering into society in general. I would be clueless if not for that exposure. Always enjoy your vlogs - they are full of inspiration, beauty and commonsense. You have always worked hard and taken risks. Manifested your desires and not remained still on any success. FANTASTIC...get writing a book!

before you move anywhere - do this - go to the place you think you want to live, save up so you have enough money to cover expenses for three months. Rent a house in the district you think you want to live. Go when they have their worst season (winter) and have a major holiday in the 3 month timeframe so that you can't go home for a holiday. If after 3 months of living there, you still love it, move there. Reason being, if you can survive their worst climate and love it, live with the people in the area you want to live and love it, go a big holiday without your family and you are miles away and see how a phone call or internet is your only family connection and the rest of your family is living without you and you still love it - then and only then, start to think about moving there. Be careful what you wish for without putting a lot of pros and cons into it and save yourself a lot of troubles...

Kylie, You do not speak about retired people. There are many in Italy. I am older than most people I have met here. I moved to Montenegro 2019 more than 4 years ago. I came for the first time in 2018 stayed for 21/2 months. I am 79 now. I still love it here and very happy that I found a small country that speaks English as I do not speak the language. I am a very social person. I meet and speak to people everywhere. My best friend is a Dr. I am still learning about the culture. I even have a Montenegro Driver's Lic. Do not know if I will purchase a car. My friends from the States have visited me. Even one of my friends gave me POA to purchase her apartment when I helped her find her apartment working with my Realtor. My career in the States is and was RE. I still manager my Rental. Anything can be accomplished if you nevrer give up and have an alternative plan. I look at everything in life as a challenge.....enjoy your baby....I did and still enjoying my grandchildren and hopefully great grandchildren......😀😉

I'm not sure why I was surprised that your favourite films are also some of mine, I guess I thought our tastes might be a little different. You recommended a Penelope Green book, "When in Rome", which I haven't read yet, but her book, "See Naples and Die" helped me dream of one day seeing Naples, during an incredibly difficult time of my life, so I will endeavor to be inspired by her once again! Due to COVID, I still haven't seen Naples, but I'm working on it 😊

I'm a little behind, Kylie, on my watching. I love this video. I have saved it so I can re-watch it. Thank you for sharing life's beauty as seen through your eyes. I am so glad that you sound stronger and calmer and more comfortable in this video, which I hope means you all are recovering and looking forward, which is one of the things I love about you: your optimistic belief in possibility.

My favourite video from you so far (I mean I love many others but this one was about your life and that was very inspiring to me mainly because we have so many things in common you wouldn't believe it). You moved so much just like me, in fact after watching you from all sorts of countries now i watch you from U.K. I adore Italy just like you do and my mum is still in Florence but honestly I was so annoyed to see that I couldn't get a proper job there, I had to be sales assistant with a master in Political Economy (achieved in London). It's not about my ego, it's the fact that I also need a challenge, a job where I can use my brain and as much as I love Italy, now it's not the right time for me to live there, maybe in the future if the situation will change. To succeed in Italy you need to know people, it's not a meritocratic country and that frustrates me a lot! Anyway love following your story, you had and still have a great life and I love learning from you! Much love always and my best regards for you and your family! xxx

    Hi, Kylie,
I have been viewing and listening to you on RUclips for about a year now and I just sort of stumbled upon your youTube’s. I appreciate what’s up what you have created and shared.
This particular creation and sharing shine some light on similar interests and appreciations when you shared about your favorite films.
Your attention to Choose appropriate words And to be as respectful and honorable as possible in communications is rare and refreshingly encouraging. Your soft feminine and gentle voice is alluring, relaxing, and peace filled. there is more I could share however, this comment is much longer than I wanted it to be.
thank you for sharing your passions and creativity in addressing real life interests, passions, and concerns. God bless you and all your loved ones❤

This was such a wonderful experience. Thanks for sharing. I notice that I have neglected many of the classic films, I am going to change that. I have a friend that is struggling in a foreign country. I can feel or believe the same thing that you expressed in this video, but I find words are not my forte (I am pretty good at math and engineering, but I don't believe equations will help her 😂). Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts I am sure it will be of help to many.

It was interesting to hear about your journey all at once to the first question. What a whirlwind! The experiences you've had, both good and bad, have brought you to where you are with Guido, the farm and your beautiful baby boy. I hope your little one starts feeling better soon. It's tough when they're newborns, as they don't digest things well yet. I'm looking forward to Q&A part 2, when you're up to it. Thanks, Kylie!

So lovely to see this latest video! I kept thinking about your traumatic birthing experience and hoped everything was going well. The first few months can be quite the eye opener and I, myself, also had babies with reflux( so exhausting and with a deep sense of helplessness seeing this little person in pain!)
What I found was that if I had garlic or dairy it affected their digestion so had to give them up till after breast feeding and for my last baby that was 2 years! Also taking fennel is really helpful and helps with wind!! Hope this helps, Kylie and you can all get some sleep!!

My (late) husband managed Jane Rutter for a brief time. Unrelenting rain in Melbourne. My sister will be arriving from London soon & staying with me, so I'm getting very excited! I haven't seen her since pre-COVID. So hopefully the inclement weather (due to La Niña) will dissipate.
We will have fun as we did when she lived here, many moons ago. We'll hit the restaurants (inc. your favourites), galleries, cinema (inc. The Astor, Cinématèque), music venues (see my friends' band perform). Thankfully our Nick Cave tickets are indoors at The Palais Theatre. My son is also attending the Hanging Rock concert. Atmospheric location...however, who knows what the weather will be like? Btw, I hope your friend Brian is happy & healthy.
Love to you and your lovely family.

Thanks for sharing so much information on how to start in a foreign country. The "Before' series was a gift. After watching all 3, spanning all those years, personally, I loved Part 2 the best. It's becos they were apart for that long, and Fate? Brought them back. True love, is hard, and many times, it may never come. As we grow older, we lose more of the people, whom we hope otherwise.
