@@loganshate Sorry if that is incorrect, I read he had throat issues (and who wouldn't with that awesomely growl) and that was the reason for some missed tour dates. Of course he has hearling loss... he's playing in the loudest fuckin Rock band in history... well, the Who and Moterhead aside... but AC/DC brings fucking cannons to the show! Fuck yea! Funny trivia... when they played Greensboro, NC in 85 or 86 (sorry, I was stoned and rocking my ass off... don't remember much of those years, LOL!). At the end of "For Those About to Rock" they fired off the cannons... the percussion was so loud it knocked half a dozen ceiling tiles out of the coliseum! Man, that was the shit! Funniest part, as the tiles flipped and floated into the crowd below, it looked like they were dropped into a kitchen Ninja! Shredded on impact! People 50ft away got a souvenir! Man, what an awesome show! Yngwie was the opener and I swear it made Angus play even better! "Hail-hail to the good times 'Cause rock has got the right of way We ain't no legend, ain't no cause We're just living for today!" RIP Malcolm & Bon... thanks for being part of my life!
Thank you so much for bringing this to RUclips. You have done a great thing for olde rockers like me. Truly nice to see this historic time line presented .
First saw them in '77, about 700 people there, tickets were $7.50. They opened for Ronnie Montrose, my buddy loved Montrose. I asked who the opening band was and he said, i don't know, some band from Australia. They came out, played, and when they finished i looked at my friend and said what the fuck was that. Totally blew me away. and blew Montrose off the stage. Never saw anything like them before and have been hooked ever since. 6 months later saw them again with Van Halen, Areosmith, Ted Nuggent, and a couple others at day on the green in Oakland Ca. Best RnR band ever. 50 yrs from now, some kid somewhere will be sitting in their garage trying to learn Whole Lotta Rosie, you cant ask for a better legacy then that.
I saw AkkaDakka at the old Bondi Lifesaver , a wonderfully seedy dive in the 70s , Bon was the great frontman , and Angus was the showman that sold it all , but Malcolm was the man , the glue , the anchor ... the bass player could have gone home and you wouldn't have noticed . Big Wrist Malky was the heart and soul of the band , magically minimal , the best grunt rock sound and absolutely immaculate timing . Vale Malcolm Young . Best . Rhythm Guitarist . Ever .
This documentary made me emotional about some wrenching moments in the history of the band. I shed tears about Bon for the first time in my life. And that sentence by Malcolm: " You just can't explain death, it gets you numb".....something to think over and maybe dedicate a song about.
Breaks my heart that they were blamed for deaths because of negligent arsehole venue organisers. What a horrible thing to have forever on your conscience.
I feel old, saw this band from start to finish when they first came on the radio in the 70s and then I caught them in concert with Bon Scott in 79. Followed them for 35 years after that. Hard to believe AC/DC is no more. The greatest Rock-n-Roll Band of all time!
I am now55 and cant believe how fast time has vanished , , , I remember the 70's n 80's very well - they were the BEST times of my life and AC/DC was an well ingrained part of our youth and countless parties,,,,,,, Was lucky enough to see Back in Black - Sudbury Ontario early 80's. Prob the best concert EVER ,,,, it was definitely epic, , , did i mention that LSD was pretty rampant back then ,,,hhmmm AC/DC is def one of the best party / rock n roll music of all time and it still is to this day .....
I have never disliked the band... Always liked them in fact. I think no body really ever did since they were somehow sympathetic in some odd way... But now: I have a better developed respect to the beautiful people behind their music and feel honestly rude for not having known this so much before... I think it would be correct to say that you have done the band and the memory of a very special little guy I personally much "correcter" respect; justice Thank you very much for sharing these with us.
I Remember the very first time I heard AC/DC. My best friend Josef (Bostic) Rouche, had me listen. I heard Big Balls & A whole Lotta Rosie. I athought, not bad, but it wasn't till I heard "Long way to the top if you wanna Rock"N"Roll & if you want blood. That I totally thought they were THE GREATEST ROCK"N"ROLL BAND in the history of music. Condolences to your family Angus, so very sad to lose 1 of the BEST musicians EVER. R.I.P. Malcolm Young. Thank you & Angus for keeping AC/DC alive after Bon died. I'm praying for you Brian Johnson & your throat cancer.
That was a great documentary although there's a lot that has happened since then eg what happened to Malcolm. May he rest in peace. AC/DC and his part in it will never be forgotten. The same for Bon.
That success and longevity is what happens when you do it because you love it. Not a made up band by some producers to make themselves rich. They would have still played for nothing.
Were it not for AC/DC, I would've never know the likes of them, megadeth, etc. Thanks to my cousin Steve for not killing me when I borrowed his AC/DC tapes and only handcuffing me to a tree instead.
I grew up with alcoholism, my dad's dad died from it, he asked my mom, why do I drink knowing what it did to his dad. I also became an alcoholic/addict. It's a brutal situation, I thought, I can handle it, I won't become addicted. Wrong
I will never blame any of the crew about the death in the Croud they are not at all responsible for any of that, all they can do is hope and pray it never happens again. I love the band and always will no matter what happens.
That was awesome love acdc I still remember the first time I ever heard them in the 80s I was a young kid and they just blew my mind still my all time fav rock band
Denver, Big Mac Arena 1985, Yngwie Malmsteen opened. I was so stoned the only thing I remember of the opening show was Malmsteen's guitar getting hung in the stage rafters and a roadie running out with a fresh guitar for him. Then the arena went dark and the bell started.

Still my favourite Rock n Roll band, as an Aussie I've been there right from the start, one thing I do often clarify despite appearances they weren't really a bunch of battlers plucked of the street, Angus and Mal's older brother was Australia's leading record producer with a record contract sitting there waiting for them, to get so huge is all their doing though.
Condolences to the families of the fans killed by the crowd. Why on Earth ACDC was blamed is beyond me. Those poor men having that on their shoulders! Why wasn't the venue workers blamed?? They were at fault. How horrific!!
A history of kidding, messing around to the highest spot ,yet they never changed from who they were as kids, greatest band ever, I followed them since 1977.
I would have thought the band members would have found out who the kids were that were killed, and at least attended the funeral for each. Just out of god-given respect.
Brian didn’t loose his pipes at his last concert in Las Vegas I was there he lost his hearing the dr. Said he would be deaf if he continued. So glad I went to that concert!! It rocked!!! 🖤🖤🖤

That's what we call true stuff - no fear, no doubts - guys left the enormous trace in the history of rock'n roll and their high-voltage presence in the hall of fame would be ever with them only. Real luck to be living in these juicy times when AC/DC were creating their masterpieces and what's cool - you may rather easily play and sing their music aloud due to this IS the perfection for all times
Love Malcolm, Angus, Brian, Phil, Cliff....but they lost it as far as songwriting after For Those About to Rock, the music might be good as always, but lyrically and the overall compositions along with even the artwork, not the same as the long run they had from the beginning. Every album up to For those made sense in every way.
So emotional my dad was my hero and he introduced me to AC/DC, Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin and more, I lost my hero my best friend my dad 3 years ago,
