a proper proper band with cracking music ,great blokes ,and songs you love to hear time and time again,,,,unlike most of the trash you hear today this band will go on and on and on
Although their music wasn't similar outside of being good, guitar driven rock and roll, the guys in ACDC remind me of a guy called Lonnie Mack who was a family friend and a great performer. He was exactly what he seemed like onstage or off. He wore the same clothes onstage as he wore while he was at home. He was completely unconcerned about image and his family was his first priority. He liked to party and he would hang out with the people in the club between sets. Obviously ACDC were too famous to do that but they probably would have if they didn't have so many people trying to get at them. Lonnie played the same guitar his entire career and just plugged in and let it rip , never changing his sound or style regardless of trends . He knew what he liked and he played what he wanted to hear. I'd imagine the guys in ACDC were fans of Mack because he had a good following in Australia and most guitar players who started in the 60s and 70s were influenced by his early instrumental records.
Feel the same! Thanks for filling all the spaces for me. I was at your beginning in the states. It wasn't your first tour but when ya came to Tx. and then to Florida. 3 dates I think. I'll kick my butt till the day I die for not with ya to. S.A. that night night at the 'DILLO by invitation from Bon and whoever's else it was. I think Cliff. The only other member who could have been taller than Bon. Always forever remembered! Still get the chills. Deb
Those 5 guys are anything but average. God love them, they're so humble. Malcolm dressed onstage as he did on life. Tshirt, blue jeans. Angus will STILL stop and sign as many autographs as possible.
Dude, I've been playing guitar for 36 years, I can play anything from country to yngwie malmsteen, and Angus and Malcolm STILL impress me. Their guitar tones, no other guitarists do, or CAN do. I've tried just running through my amps and nothing else. Nope! No fucking way.abd and then to play the way they do is simply amazing. My hats off to these guys!
Thanks for telling the story ( Geoff ) . I know every song , since 74 . I needed a break. Now I can appreciate it again. My first cassette was " I've got big balls " Just a hats off to you brother. Now do a maximum overdrive synopsis of the movie and how they got it.
Thanks for posting this! AC/DC will go down in history as one of the top rock n roll most epic bands ever! It's these stories that I'm hungry for and really appreciate man.
Bloody Copyright bollocks,, Copyright can kiss my ass! Thanks Geoff i have really enjoyed watching this, learned a lot about one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
Yeah, thanks man for the videos. Very interesting - I didn't know much and now after watching this I feel much more connected to the band whose music followed me since my childhood. Great stuff, thanks again.
I know right, who would have ever guessed that one, the name on a sewing machine, becomes the name of a big time famous band, its wild how a name for a band comes to life, ive spoken to many people about this ,how does a band come up with there name, ive received so many thoughts on just that one question, some say its one of the most difficult things a band ever does , some say its as easy as putting on your shoes, me personally, I believe if its what your destined to do, the name will come to you just when you least expect it, but itll be like running into a wall, so to speak, meaning theres no doubt you,ll know that the name you just either thought of, or heard or maybe seen somewhere is the name for you, its as simple as that I should imagine, if your that passionate about it, I think people that are extremely sensitive ,both emotionally an passionately they tend to notice everything around them, and when something strikes them well it can be overwhelming they cant help but notice it, especially if it sticks with them ,then there willing to share that feeling or word or name, whatever the case may be, heres the perfect example of exactly what I mean, Moms or Auntie,s sewing machine, Malcolm notices the name, he lights up, BAM !!! he see,s the letters AC/DC introduces it to the rest of the guys and like that becomes there bands name, that's what I meant by noticing every little thing that may mean a lot in there lives no matter how big or small, its part of what made them who they were, and Moms or Auntie,s sewing machine was no exception ,LOL, !!! im sure she made a ton of repairs on there torn up clothes as both Angus and Malcolm stated early on about how poor they all were I think in PT.1 ,I would think that the band especially Malcolm may have ,im not certain of this to any degree, might have paid Mom,or Auntie a royalty for using the name on her sewing machine ,LOL, if they didn't , allow me to be the 1st person to say THANK YOU AUNTIE OR MOM whichever one the sewing machine belonged to ,im glad Malcolm seen those letters on her sewing machine , not only is it on a sewing machine its also in the minds and hearts of millions upon millions of people who would have thought, AC/DC letters on a sewing machine ,wow, I wonder if she still has that sewing machine Malcolm seen the letters on today ? ill buy it, name your price,LOL,
Thank you Geoff for putting this together, despite copyright warnings(spits) Great to hear the background info and the history of probably the best rock and roll band ever. Thanks again for your effort, I really enjoyed watching this.
I wasn't aware of the Salt Lake City concert or the homicide incident, but that doesn't change my perspective on AC/DC. The press will do anything to tear people down and the guys of AC/DC seem like really nice guys, especially Malcolm. By the way, I didn't think negatively of the Highway to Hell title; I thought it was the coolest thing I've ever heard of!!! So bummed I never got to see AC/DC when Malcolm was still alive; rest in peace Bon Scott and Malcolm Young!
One of the greatest rock bands of all time, though some say it was the Beatles, yet they were only popular from 1962-1970(8 yrs) and AC/DC was popular from 1973-2016(43 yrs)when Brian Johnson left so you do the math
David Brooks Um what... the band stopped playing in 1970 that doesn’t mean they weren’t popular anymore. They have the most records sold and the most top albums so
I guess when they said they were timeless they didn't know Brian was going deaf. Because Axl Rose is no answer. Just like an old quarterback it's time for ACDC to retire so we can protect the Legacy
ac/dc actually has a meaning. Ac stands for alternating current and it means when electrons move back and forth in a pattern and dc stands for direct current and it means flows non stop in one direction and only in that one direction. one more thing you learned outside these videos
I grew up in a family that drank, my dad, my uncle's, alcohol is tricky because you can drink socially and contain it, but if your like me it's always, just one more, same with drugs, many friends stopped drugs and booze, but personally I'm an additive personality, and I'm not saying excuses, I'm that way with everything, some people are more likely to go too far, not thinking it's a problem. If your a young person, think about the outcome, if I could do it over I'd rather not drink or drug. Good luck. 🙏
Same here man I had to just stop altogether once I had kids because I would binge at first and it kept getting worse as my tolerance grew. After a while I got to the stage that I didn't even consider drinking beer as really drinking. I'd drink whiskey to get drunk but I drank beer just like some people drink coffee. Pretty soon I was taking speed and pills and eventually I wasn't satisfied if I didn't have liquor, painkillers, weed and speed . If any one substance was missing it wasn't enough. It became a lot of hassle just to feel good. I probably would have worn my body and mind out by the time I was 40 if I hadn't stopped. I had to learn how to be content without being completely out of my mind . Took awhile but I'm sober now and raising my kids is my main concern.
It’s just crazy that the band has been sued for being responsible of 3 fans being trampled to death. If anyone, it would be the organizers fault. But they might just have been overwhelmed with crowd.
You need to watch this - ruclips.net/video/-sUXMzkh-jI/видео.html - on the back of a truck driving around Melbourne. I remember seeing this on the telly as a kid, AC/DC in the early days. Awesome.

I'm sure most people who have followed rock n roll and understand the meaning and tradition of it will agree that there hasn't ever been a better rock n roll band in history. That is apart from maybe the Rolling Stones. However they wore makeup and we all know Mick Jaggar was a posing ponce with homosexual tendencies, so no. I don't care. AC/DC are the ultimate rock n roll band and if you don't agree you can come round my house and I will fight you.
Malcolm young was one of the greatest rock and roll artist in the world RIP. Brother
Bon too
As Jimmy Barnes said, "the best right hand in the business." He was the glue as well. But Angus is honouring his memory by being the glue now.
Malcolm was humble as well as Angus. Just a couple of guys wanting to play rock n roll. RIP Malcolm Young❤
Guys who cared about what they did, cared about each other, and cared about the fans. The Young bros always so humble, truly amazing. RIP Malcom
Rip Bon
