Additional things I noticed: - Lack of attention to own health. There are various points in this gameplay where he is low on health, but sticks around instead of running away to seek a health pack or a friendly healer. Then he dies. There's also this point where he's on 160 health and runs past a health pack that is literally two steps away. I think this is due to tunnel vision. - Dash timing. Dash is excellent for -- Running away fast. He does that once, I think. -- Closing in on a weak target to kill it. (Dash then resets and you can use it again.) -- Finishing off weak targets. (Also resets.) But the main way this guy uses dash is mid-fight, to confuse the enemy, similar to how a Tracer would blink mid-fight. But blink is available much more often than dash. If you dash mid-fight, in a situation where you then need multiple additional hits to finish he target off, that leaves you at a severe disadvantage, because now dash is on a pretty long cooldown. This means you cannot run away if your target is joined by a few buddies and you are outmatched, nor can you chase your target down if he decides to run away. So I would recommend not doing that. Especially in the fights against Mei, he often dashes through her when she's at 150-200 HP, leaving her with plenty, and all she has to do is turn around and keep right on spraying, because dashing straight through her means you are still in spray range.
Just because he's bad with Genji that doesn't mean he is bad with other characters. He may have picked up Genji recently to try and increase the number of Heroes he can play effectively since if you're going to play Comp you should make sure you can play a decent amount of Heroes, at least one or two from each class. This guy clearly understands that he's not great with Genji since he specifically asked Stylosa for help. For example, I can't play Ana or Widowmaker to save my life but I can play most other characters at skill levels that vary between average to a bit above average. Unlike most people who like FPS games I personally hate most of them. Overwatch is the only FPS I enjoy playing but because of that I started off fairly bad. I don't play nearly as much as other people but I've still improved quite a lot.

The beep is because when you are microphone muted in Teamspeak and you are talking or at least your microphone is recording sounds, teamspeak will notice you with that beep

FastFire while he doesn't play Genji he does know how he works so I think that he would have some advice but not as much as say the Genji on this video because as you said a GM Genji would be more experienced than a bronze Genji
He has a lot of potential. All he needs to work on is shuriken accuracy, mechanical movement, when to use deflect, and target prioritization. There are obviously other things too that he needs to work on like muscle memory like sty said, but i mean the basics of genji.
I think when you're this bad at the game (in the nicest way possible) you should watch pro games on whatever hero you want to play and just compare it to yourself. Look at their positioning and the way they're moving and try to imitate it as much as possible in a custom game with AI. Also think "What are these players doing that I'm not doing?" and "What are they NOT doing that I AM doing?" etc etc.

I think Sty is a damn good coach. Takes lots of patience. I like that you explain what a character should be doing that way even the people who don't play a particular character understand how that character could be countered

Yep, That's me don't practice on Bots. They're movements are too predictable and will have you looking at that style of movement rather than the random human element. Try turning on Linear Ramp, turn down Aim Smoothing, and lower the Sensitivity.
19:04 ish. He's actually correct in dashing the McCree after deflecting the flash-bang. This is because dashing cancels the deflect, so if you do it right you can deflect the flash-bang, dash, and the shuriken the stunned McCree. Otherwise the flash-bang stun goes to waste because you didn't attack him because you were deflecting.

These people really need to just read a guide on the hero and try to improve before sending these videos in to be analyzed. Most of the problems with the gameplay stem from simply not understanding how the game works.
I was thinking that, I'm only level 80 & he makes me feel good plus my aim is crap, but at least I understand Genji should be played like the floor is lava & blade squishy supports.
A couple things as well, in case Stylosa doesn't go over it: remember to melee every so often as it helps with ammo conservation and the like. If they're right next to you with 15 health, just punch 'em. Also, there's a mega helpful video on youtube showing everything genji can and canNOT deflect. In basics, he can't deflect winston, zarya, or mei but there is exceptions (ie zarya's ult is deflect-able)

You honestly saved me the trouble of doing it as I didn't feel like facing elitist shitty comments from people about my Genji play (there's some nice comments here too, but not many tbh :/ ). I'm at 1388SR atm so not _too_ far off your skill level; I was Silver in seasons 3 and 4 but kinda tanked this season (more frequent leavers this season didn't help either). Sty's feedback is pretty *fair*, not too harsh but not too softy softy either, I may consider biting the bullet and submitting my own footage in future.
Minus the lack of double jumps, wall climbing and shocking Dragonblade usage, his mechanical skill could be worse? (I wasn't expecting Gold elims or any good use of Deflects personally) I wouldn't say this video is a waste of time, I certainly learned things from it. Things like knowing when to play aggressively vs passively, when to go in or back off, and the "basic" stuff? Handy for other bronzes who wanna learn Genji. A good coach is willing to review ALL levels, not just Silver and above. Everyone has to start from somewhere, and Genji's the HARDEST character in the game to master, period. It's better to learn how to play him in Bronze than in higher echelons of play, where he'd get countered pretty hard by competent players. That's my thoughts anyway, feel free to disagree but I honestly don't feel he deserves the hate, by sending this in he's saying that he wants to improve at the game. Because who doesn't want to improve at Overwatch, right? There's only so much you can learn from QP/duals before seeking advice from veterans helps you better your skill.
This is why people like me are stuck in silver. We have a decent team comp until some retarded teammate says that bastion fills a tank role. I don't know if you are joking. But this is a clear example of what silver teammates are.

These people really need to just read a guide on the hero and try to improve before sending these videos in to be analyzed. Most of the problems with the gameplay stem from simply not understanding how the game works.

I was thinking that, I'm only level 80 & he makes me feel good plus my aim is crap, but at least I understand Genji should be played like the floor is lava & blade squishy supports.
A couple things as well, in case Stylosa doesn't go over it: remember to melee every so often as it helps with ammo conservation and the like. If they're right next to you with 15 health, just punch 'em. Also, there's a mega helpful video on youtube showing everything genji can and canNOT deflect. In basics, he can't deflect winston, zarya, or mei but there is exceptions (ie zarya's ult is deflect-able)
He literally goes over both these things. Oops!

Listen, they are sending it in to try to improve with sty's tips. It's very proud of them that they even have the courage to send it in. So please shut the hell up and stop hating. To whoever sent this in: THANK YOU. You honestly saved me the trouble of doing it as I didn't feel like facing elitist shitty comments from people about my Genji play (there's some nice comments here too, but not many tbh :/ ). I'm at 1388SR atm so not _too_ far off your skill level; I was Silver in seasons 3 and 4 but kinda tanked this season (more frequent leavers this season didn't help either). Sty's feedback is pretty *fair*, not too harsh but not too softy softy either, I may consider biting the bullet and submitting my own footage in future.
Minus the lack of double jumps, wall climbing and shocking Dragonblade usage, his mechanical skill could be worse? (I wasn't expecting Gold elims or any good use of Deflects personally) I wouldn't say this video is a waste of time, I certainly learned things from it. Things like knowing when to play aggressively vs passively, when to go in or back off, and the "basic" stuff? Handy for other bronzes who wanna learn Genji.
A good coach is willing to review ALL levels, not just Silver and above. Everyone has to start from somewhere, and Genji's the HARDEST character in the game to master, period. It's better to learn how to play him in Bronze than in higher echelons of play, where he'd get countered pretty hard by competent players.
That's my thoughts anyway, feel free to disagree but I honestly don't feel he deserves the hate, by sending this in he's saying that he wants to improve at the game. Because who doesn't want to improve at Overwatch, right? There's only so much you can learn from QP/duals before seeking advice from veterans helps you better your skill.

Notice he is two prestige and the same is for me, we are both Genji mains. Sounds like we would be the same skill but I am gold plus I know how to combo his abilities and use dragon blade. Watching this video was awfully painful to watch. This player is just really bad, a two prestige player should be way better than this.
Maybe the guy is trying to get better at Genji? Idk but from all the comments I've been seeing, it looks like everyone one is a cocky douchebag who thinks they know a lot more.
